Virginia'sRegulationsGoverningEducationalServicesforGifted StudentsrequireeachschooldivisiontosubmittotheDepartment ofEducationaplanfortheeducationofgiftedstudents. Thisplan includestheschooldivision'sphilosophy,goals,proceduresfor identification,andservicesprovidedtostudents. FundsprovidedfromstatearebasedontotalFCPSstudent population.

"Giftedstudents"meansthosestudentsinpublic elementary,middle,andsecondaryschools beginningwithkindergartenthroughtwelfthgrade whodemonstratehighlevelsof accomplishment orwhoshowthepotentialforhigher levelsofaccomplishmentwhencompared toothersofthesameage,experience,orenvironment.
