DIN-Rail mounting for SYNC2000 S6R1 - A aluminum DIN-Rail attachment plate is included in the package. To attach the plate to the SYNC 2000 S6R1, situate the wider end first into the rail, and then push the stiff metal spring end into the rail, so that the DIN-rail attachment will snap into the place. The steps involved in mounting SYNC 2000 S6R1 are shown below:

OVERVIEW

SYNC2000 is KEMA certified for 61850 Server and is IEC 61850-3 compliant mid-sized field device with up to six Serial channels, two Ethernet channels, Optional modem card and IO board for applications like substation protocol converters, data loggers, low end data concentration, multi-protocol mapping, industrial complex meter gateway, building automation with all major open standards as well the select proprietary protocols support.
PACKAGE CHECKLIST

To detach the plate, follow step 2 and then step1 as given above.

Power Connector 24V DC Input supply needs to be provided to the power connectors (combicon) through the DC input connector, present at the top side of SYNC2000 S6R1. The Red power LED will glow indicating the unit is powered up properly. Grounding The ground is provided on the enclosure itself and there is no requirement of special grounding connection as connection is established through the metallic DIN rails Ethernet port LAN 1 port is RJ45 connector for 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports. The table below gives the signal details for the corresponding 8 pin RJ45 connector. The figure shows the diagrammatic representation of the Ethernet ports.

Console Port The console port is also an RJ45 RS-232 port. It can be connected to a V90 or GPRS modem via PPP. The pin definitions are same as the Serial ports. Reset Button Press the Reset button on the front panel continuously for at least 5 seconds to load the factory default configuration. After the factory default configuration has been loaded, the system will reboot automatically. The Ready LED will blink for the first 5 seconds, and then maintain a steady glow once the system has rebooted.

SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION

EASYCONNECT The gateway comes with an EasyConnect Configuration and Diagnostic's utility.These tools are easy to use and offer access to the gateway configuration, firmware up gradation, diagnostics etc. For further details on EasyConnect software, send a email query to sales. The default IP Address of the gateway is set as 192.168.0.121. As shown below, information such as Model Name, Interface Name, IP address, Net mask, MAC address, Product Key etc, are displayed in the SCAN window.

LED INDICATORS

There is a POWER LED on the top left corner of the front side, which will be in red when the power is up.

Serial ports SYNC 2000 S6R1 has six serial ports (S1,S2,S3,S4,S5,S6) and one console / debug port (CONSOLE), all of which being RJ45 connections. Ports S1, S2, S3 and S4 have both RS232 and RS485 which supports only RS232. There are four externally accessible DIP switches available for switching between RS232 and RS485 on S1-S4 ports. The default setting on these switches is the RS232 mode and t he user needs to change the DIP switch to ON position for changing to RS485.

Note: Check if the IP Address of the gateway is accessible to the PC where EasyConnect is installed via a network or Ethernet Cross cable. Using EasyConnect user can change the gateway IP, Upload/Download gateway configuration, Update the firmware etc. To change the Gateway IP: 1. Open EasyConnect 2. Click on IP Configuration\

3. In LAN Settings window, from Device drop-down, select Other Device. Select the appropriate model name(ex:SYNC2000S6R1).In IP address text box, enter the appropriate IP address According to the model, the number of interfaces will be changed. Enter valid IP addresses, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and Default gateway Interface for each interface. Click OK to update the changes. The converter will be automatically get restarted.

PRODUCT WARRANTY STATEMENT

STANDARD WARRANTY Kalki Communication Technologies Ltd., (KALKITECH) warrants this product to be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship starting from the date of invoicing. KALKITECH will replace any product found to be defective within first 12 months of purchase provided said product was properly installed and used. Warranty more than 12 months which was accepted by KALKITECH will be Addendum to this period and will be treated as standard warrant period as applicable. Defects, malfunctions, or failures of the warranted product caused by damage resulting from acts of God (such as floods, fire, etc.,), environmental and atmospheric disturbances, other external forces such as power line disturbances, plugging the board in under power, or incorrect cabling, and damage caused by misuse, abuse, and unauthorized alteration or repair, are not warranted. Customers must obtain a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number prior to returning a defective product to KALKITECH for service. The customer agrees to insure the product or assume the risk of loss or damage during transit and to use the original shipping container or equivalent. Repaired or replaced products are warranted for ninety (90) days from the date of repair or replacement, or for the remainder of the original product's warranty period, whichever is longer. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY The provisions of the warranty are in the lieu of any other warranty, whether expressed are implied, or written or oral. KALKITECH's liability arising out of the manufacture, sale, or supplying of the product and it's use, whether based on the warranty, contract, negligence, product liability, or otherwise, shall not exceed the original cost of the product. In no event shall KALKITECH be liable for unintended or consequential damages, including but not limited to, loss of profits or damages arising out of the manufacture, sale, or supplying of the product.
