Claiming that Chinese activities in the southern part of Nepal have surged, India has, in a rare public statement, expressed its concern on the issue. Addressing a press meet after a crucial border meeting with the Nepali delegation in New Delhi on Monday, the head of the Indian team, Pranay Sahay, who is the director general of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), voiced such concerns.

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea's satellite launch plan triggered widespread concern from regional countries on Sunday, with Pyongyang intending to implement the plan between Dec 10 and 22. According to the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) covering 158 countries, Thailand is the worst in Southeast Asia and the fifth worst in all Asia. The top four countries in the list are all from Asia - Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India - where terrorist incidents were "heavily concentrated".
