After Sales: Scharfenberg Center of Competency The exposed position of the Scharfenberg products makes them prone to damage across their service life. Apart from regular service intervals they may therefore need fast and competent repairs. In addition, the rapidly growing global need for mobility calls for continuous modernization and retrofits in the field of train technology. The new developments SK400 Crash Buffer, RadiConn and TLM for data transmission, as well as the Comfloor heating system, are excellently suitable for such projects.

After Sales Competency from Voith Turbo Scharfenberg In order to cover all aspects of maintenance, overhauls, repairs and consultation, Voith Turbo Scharfenberg has established the After Sales Center of Competency. Apart from the location Salzgitter (repairs of frontend systems and couplers), we also have a subsidiary in Greenford (Middlesex, UK) with a large workshop. The Greenford site specializes in spare parts for the entire Voith product range and all coupler systems used in the British market. As a full provider in the spare parts management sector, the After Sales Center ensures the compatibility of all Voith products over decades. Upon request, Voith also develops individual repair concepts in close cooperation with the train operator. SK400 Crash Buffer More Safety in Goods Traffic The SK400 crash buffer has been developed for locomotives, freight and tank cars. Consisting of a spring and a collapsible element (energy absorption: 400 kJ per buffer), it significantly reduces the crash impact during a collision and meets all official requirements on hazardous goods transports. Its compact design and compatible interfaces allow fast replacements and easy retrofits of the buffers.

RadiConn and TLM: Efficient Retrofits for Data Transmission Both the RadiConn system and the TLM (Train Line Modem) allow Ethernet data transmission via the coupler. The contactfree RadiConn system does not even have to have an E-coupler: coupler and counter-coupler can also be mounted separately to the mechanical coupler. The TLM needs an E-coupler with a shielded contact pair, but can utilize existing lines and contacts (dual use). An ideal option for cost-effective retrofits with existing E-couplers and jumper cables. Comfloor: Heating System for More Comfort and Efficiency Conventional train heating systems are usually fitted to the ceiling of train compartments. The disadvantages of this technology: long warming-up times caused rising hot air and uneven distribution of heat in the compartment. The Comfloor system consists of fully heatable panels. Additional heating elements in the side walls make sure that heat is distributed even more consistently and energy-efficiently, and they also prevent the windows from misting up with condensation. The Comfloor system is leakfree, can be quickly installed and requires no maintenance.
