The new two Step Trade Mark and Copyright Licensing Schemes

The Cabinet Ofce have now introduced a simple two step licensing process for licensing Best Management Practice copyright and trade mark material in products and services. This scheme applies whether you wish to licence copyright, trade marks or copyright and trade marks together. The two step scheme consists of a Development Licence and a Full Licence. Under a Development Licence you have permission to develop your product using our Best Management Practice material. If it meets our value adding criteria then a full licence will be granted. The Trade Mark Scheme

Our trade mark licensing scheme is administered by our partner, the APM Group. If you wish to use copyright material with a trade mark, then you can apply for a combined trade mark and copyright licence. The combined scheme also enables the licensee to use an ofcially licensed product logo.

The Copyright Scheme

To use text or diagrams from our Best Management Practice publications, you will need to apply for a licence. This is administered by the Cabinet Ofce, under delegation from The Ofce of Public Sector Information.

3. Submit your product to be reviewed by our assessors

Your product will be reviewed by one of our assessors to ensure that it meets the criteria of our licensing scheme.
