plant or other plants or trees. Matter and space. The seed of the plant becomes embedded in the matter of the solid soil of the earth and there germinates and grows roots. Yet for the plant to fulfill itself it grows a stem. The stem is attached to the root system in the soil yet it emerges from the solid matter of the soil and grows into the space of the air and light above the dense soil. There is grows and its stem gives rise part of the to leaves and flowers and fruits where it regenerates the seed. Our greater nature is like that. The material side of us is like the part of the plant that is in the solid soil - in the material. As the plant grows a root system from the seed, we grow our material part by working for material sustenance. We work for a home and a car. For appliances and clothing. for TV sets and VCRs. For stereos and telephones. There is a part of us that belongs in the space above the soil where there is light and air. That is the spiritual part of us. It is the part of us were we may fulfill our full potential as spiritual beings. The spiritual part of us is attached to the material part in the material soil of our homes and possessions. The spiritual part of us is our stems and our leaves, our flowers and fruit; our seeds. A human being who is devoted to the accumulation of possessions is like a plant with an extensive root system but only a tiny little stem with no leaves and no flowers. So much for the metaphor. What of rulers and guardians and the republican form of ordering of social organization? Seems as if it was the renaissance in Europe that provided the conditions for the emergence of the republican form of social organization. even though Plato wrote The Republic in 200 or 330 BCE, it doesnt seem to have been taken very seriously as a blueprint for social organization until

after the Copernican revolution - that Copernican revolutions itself an offspring of the rebirth of ancient Greek intelligence in greater Europe in the second millennium after the dark ages. In Platos time the favored form of social organization appears to have been monarchy and oligarchy. It was the oligarchy of wealthy people who executed Socrates, the mentor and hero of Plato. Plato seems to recommend the philosopher monarch as the best form of social organization where the best in humankind might be realized. Yet the system of organization he describes with its guardians and rulers sounds much more like the modern republics of the late second millennium than like Platos Athenian oligarchy or the monarchies that followed in the dark ages of mediaeval Europe and the other large cultures. So it seems to me that the blueprint for social organization that Plato provides in The Republic might well have been taken seriously by those reformers looking to new forms of social organization at the time of the rise of the scientific world-view and the new wealth of the industrial revolution that came after the discoveries of science. The technologies that came out of the scientific and industrial revolutions are the fruit of a philosophic and cultural revolutions that seems very much related to the rediscovery of Greek intelligence known as the Renaissance. It was according to the historians, in Britain, France and the United States of north eastern America that the republican forms of social organization were first tested out. It is in these places and societies that there is the highest probability that the ideas of Plato expressed in The Republic may have inspired the founders. Could it be that the democratic form of appointment of leaders or rulers is more like the influencing of public opinion depicted in Wag the Dog than like the system as it appears to be superficially. Platos model was for those people of philosophic disposition to be the most suitable rulers precisely because they are by nature less

interested in selfish accumulation of wealth and more interested in cosmic evolution and the whole of society? If so then one might expect a republic to be ruled y the fittest and not by its democratically appointed politicians. The political establishment of todays American republic and that of France for that matter, seem to be quite clearly inspired by personal enrichment and not by the good of the whole. Is it possible that there exists and has existed from the inception of the republican form of social organization, a secret organization of rulers who maintain the public illusion of a democratically appointed government? A secret organization that is really in charge and that actually rules the government that is thought to rule by the public at large. The tales of the Illuminati suggest that they are such an organization of secret rulers. The Illuminati is said to be a very secret organization descended from a German Bavarian group of freemasons or philosophic disposition. The founding fathers of the United States are said to be masons and Illuminati members. Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, Madison, Hamilton and the like. It seems that any form of ruler organizations has to have control over the guardians of both democratic and totalitarian societies. That means control of the system of law enforcement. There are still many examples of societies in which the ruler controls the military. Other societies are ruled by people who control secret police and intelligence organizations like the old KGB, the CIA, the FBI, the Gestapo and the like. It sure seems to me that in a democratic society like the United States, an organization like the FBI is that with the highest potential for control of the guardians or law enforcement. I can imagine a system in which the rulers control a domestic and foreign intelligence organization which in turn control local law enforcement.

It appears that the cold war was in fact a rivalry between the Russian and American intelligence organizations to establish an international organization of guardians of their respective form of social organization. So it seems that if it is so, then the CIA prevailed and the KGB failed n this effort to establish a global organization of guardians. Its not so hard to imagine an organization of rulers so secret that it seldom is referred to in the media who would of course be controlled by it. Yet in a free society with laws that protect the freedom of the press, such a secret system of rulers would have to in their power by both the of the media and by their willingness to terminate any persons who pose a threat to the secrecy of the organization and the health of the whole social organism - which in these post modern times would have to be considered global in its influence. A system of global rulers that controls without being visible to the public via the media and a media that cooperates with it by consent out of reverence and respect as well as out of obedience and a knowledge that death is the penalty for threatening the rule of the rulers and by so doing also threatening the health and welfare of the global society and the whole community of life for that matter. Todays rulers are then an international organization who take responsibility for the whole of Gaia. They are also an organization very adept at maintaining secrecy and at manipulating public awareness for the good of the Gaian whole. Is it really possible that such an organization of secret rulers actually exists and actually shapes events? If it were so, how would it appoint the top leaders and how would it arrange succession? All in absolute secrecy. It appears to me that the Vatican and church of Rome is an organization which may have played a similar role at least in Europe during the first millennium. It is an organization that is well known and not a secret. Yet many suspect it has secret

aspects to its whole. It is not democratically elected and certainly international with philosophic and religious bases rather than secular or political. Yet it seems well established that this overtly philosophic religious organization was secretly and covertly secular, political and business oriented. While overtly philosophic it exerted political and economic influence as the rulers of Platos Republic were intended to do. Is there a modern and more evolved equivalent to the Vatican and Church of Rome? If so its much more secret than the Roman Catholic rulers ever were. If so it keeps out of the public eye very effectively. If such an organization of rulers exists it would possibly exert its influence via organizations such as the US Federal Reserve Bank, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund. These are organizations in the public eye. So too are the media companies like CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX. Id expect the media to be just as important for control of the rulers as are the financial organizations which direct the flow of material resources on a global scale. A system of global rulers would have to control financial institutions, media companies, the US military and federal, state and local law enforcement. 1:01 PM
