Introduction Stupid is as Stupid Does is based on my firm conviction the United States of America is become a vehicle for the greatest criminal enterprise in world history. Either you can be a part of the infection, or you can be an anti-body. I am a committed anti-body. But first, a bit of history: Born out of our cyclical history of corporate Robber Barons, there was in the 1930s a group of American businessmen expediting finances for the NAZI war machine. The names involved include Prescott Bush, father of a former CIA director named George H.W. Bush, also John Foster Dulles, brother of Allen Dulles. John Foster Dulles was a deeply religious conservative. Incidental to this, the NAZI political platform emphasized Positive Christianity. Elements of Positive Christianity portraying Jesus as a Fighter with violent, apocalyptic world view are today associated with extreme theology in the American religious right. John Foster Dulles brother, Allen Dulles, a veteran of American military intelligence and the first civilian to head up the CIA, rescued numerous NAZI war criminals by providing them with new identities in violation of explicit instruction by Harry Truman. Allen Dulles is written extensively about by former Pentagon liaison to the CIA, Colonel L Fletcher Prouty, in his work The Secret Team. Colonel Prouty points directly to Allen Dulles as at the point of an internationally active secret team, which he

calls a new religion, working to undermine democracy around the world on behalf of American corporate boardrooms. CIA Director Allen Dulles sat on United Fruit Board of Directors, and John Foster Dulles served as United Fruits legal counsel. United Fruit is now Chiquita Brands, with extensive holdings in Latin America and a long history of CIA undermining Latin American governments to benefit its profits via corruption, cocaine & gun running, and associated mass murders. Meanwhile, extreme right-wing Christianity has boomed throughout Latin America, so far as variants becoming the religious cult beliefs of drug cartels such as Los Zetas, La Famiglia and Caballeros Templarios (Knights Templar.) After the Dulles brothers had died, Eli Black outbid the George H.W. Bush owned Zapata Corporation for control of United Fruit, and anything you can possibly imagine that could go wrong, did go wrong for Eli, including much of United Fruits paper assets magically vanishing, a fat bribe called Bananagate pinned on Eli suddenly turned up with an SEC investigation, and the 54 year old Jewish businessman who likely could not fight his way out of a paper bag, miraculously broke an industrial strength window and jumped from the 44th floor of a skyscraper. With Eli conveniently out of the way, Chiquita Brands was taken over by close Bush buddy & religious right Republican big shot Carl Lindner. How about that.

Obamas Attorney General Eric Holder served as legal counsel for Chiquita Brands and is directly involved in shielding Chiquita Brands corporate executives from murder for hire prosecutions, when Chiquita had hired the Columbian AUC terrorist groups right wing death squads to protect its banana interests in Columbia. Meanwhile, Holder has also been shielding criminal acts of the CIA with the state secret and national security doctrine. CIA Director George H.W. Bush, son of NAZI financier Prescott Bush, after he became president, promoted IranContra/narcotics and guns runner Robert Gates as his CIA Director. Robert Gates is so close to George H.W. Bush, it could be said Gates is the brother of evangelical George W. Bush. Robert Gates had coordinated USA policy for the CIA in 1980s Afghanistan, has since been Obamas Secretary of Defense and Afghanistan is the worlds leading supplier of heroin. With Robert Gates leaving Department of Defense for private sector replaced by the fig leaf Panetta, General Patraeus, the American commander in Afghanistan, took over the CIA. General Patraeus is close to Robert Gates and the Bush dynasty Forty years after Colonel Prouty had written about a CIA centered new religious cult he described as The Secret Team dedicated to American corporate boardrooms taking over our republic, investigative reporter for Harpers Magazine, Jeff Sharlet, documented the evolution of a new variant extreme Christian cult, The Family, founded by NAZI sympathetic American businessmen in the 1930s .. and this is precisely why the Bush/Cheney regime criminals

will never be prosecuted by Chiquita lawyer Eric Holder. The Reagan administrations man in charge of coordinating Christian conservatism with government, Iran-Contra scandal implicated Attorney General Ed Meese, had mentored Antonin Scalia to the U.S. Supreme Court. Since, the Ed Meese inspired Federalist Society has provided us with three more justices, Clarence Thomas by association, and Samuel Alito and John Roberts by membership. The society has many events and members featuring Bush associated criminal personalities to include Dick Cheney, Cheneys former Vice Presidential counsel and mutual friend of John Roberts, Shannen Coffin, Condoleezza Rice, and torture lawyer John Yoo. Dick Cheney was ranking Republican for the Iran-Contra Congressional hearings and that is how much damning information was suppressed. Again, Colonel Prouty had pointed to corporate boardroom centered, rogue CIA integrated Secret Team new religion penetrating every facet of American security services, to include the FBI and military. More recently, former Air Force officer and White House lawyer Mikey Weinstein has been documenting an extreme Christian cult military leadership having overtaken the USAs Air Force Academy particularly, and force feeding our troops religious right propaganda throughout our military. Our Christian extremist Officers Christian Fellowship led Pentagon has, via Chiquita lawyer Eric Holders Department of Justice, been fighting Mikey Weinsteins efforts tooth and nail.

Throughout, there emerges a portrait of wealthy men with careers in intelligence who profess patriotic motivation where action promotes self-serving/self-enriching interests. To put Colonel Prouty in simple terms, hed told his story, giving excellent descriptions of what hed seen in historical context and concluded something here just doesnt smell right. In the 40 years since, there have been many developments that can be seen as having filled in the blanks. That Jeff Sharlet (personal communication) cannot tie The Family to The Secret Team does not, in my view, detract from what otherwise can only be described as events beyond coincidence: The Dulles brothers connection as a common thread between 1930s American businessmen involved with financing the 3rd Reich war machine, and the post WW II Dulles brothers positions and activities including rescuing NAZI criminals, with corporate boardroom ties spanning the entire period of criminal activities. If there had been a script written to fill in the blanks for the picture Colonel Prouty had drawn, ensuing events and what Jeff has documented entirely independently, appears a close match. As noted in Colonel Proutys work, the CIA (and elements of the larger intelligence community) is organized into cells, which more often than not, are not aware of each other or assignments and objectives. There is a large redundancy built into these organizations to prevent mission failure, were one element to be penetrated and/or exposed. This is a premier challenge facing people in the business of espionage. With men like Allen Dulles at the point of a concerted effort at treason, it stands to reason any

corporate boardroom ventures bent on the undermining of democracy and overthrow of our republic based on motivation of narcissistic greed shrouded in facade of god and country would be organized into cells of the same nature. The Department of State and the CIA are Siamese twins and that was never more apparent than in the case of the Dulles brothers, with John Foster Dulles as Secretary of State and Allen Dulles as Director of Central Intelligence. That Prescott Bush is tied to the pre-war Dulles brothers business ventures with the 3rd Reich and George H.W. Bush is tied to the post war Dulles brothers business empire, is beyond dispute. The pre and post WW II crimes on all parties part, individuals and corporations, appear to merge at critical times in the operational sector of the CIA, which gives Colonel Proutys hypothesis credit. What clinched it for me, is my running these proposed facts by my Department of State insider for confirmation and I quote the reply: One word: Yep. I dont remember all the details, and thats what makes it difficult to make a case. Ive never kept reference lists for all Ive read, in part because a good portion of it might still be classified. It should be noted here, there are many over-lapping branches of extreme Christian fundamentalism. Not all right-wing evangelicals are Pentecostals and the Pentecostals themselves are a diverse group. And certainly not all evangelicals or Pentecostals dedicate themselves to a church in supremacy over democracy, however many in both groups do. Additionally, there are elements of rightwing Catholics who make common cause with protestant extremists .. as appears to be the case with some lay

Catholics associated with societies such as Opus Dei and Pius X. Beyond this, any family or secret team (whether you believe they are different organizations or separate cells of the same) would not hesitate to utilize groups whom they held some beliefs in common with. In any group there almost certainly will be levels of initiation or confidence, similar to security clearance, determining how proactive one is expected to be. This would be modeled after security technique of classified information made accessible to people on a need to know basis. The crimes these fascist religious cult people will stoop to, based on intelligence agencies technique integrated to corporate boardrooms and organizations like The Federalist Society, know no boundaries. That JFK was almost certainly murdered by these people is become more an open secret than any conspiracy theory, particularly since E. Howard Hunts audio taped deathbed confession to his son St. John Hunt. Former Governor Jesse Ventura has raised many legitimate questions specific to the issue of JFK, questions a government thoroughly penetrated at the highest levels by a family cult will never allow to be explored except that extraordinary circumstance overwhelms the criminal enterprise. And what is the CIA doing embedded in our governors offices? Jesse would know if that were true and he states it as a matter of fact. I only fault him for not naming the names.

And then we have what a majority of Americans are yet unaware of, Building 7, at the World Trade Center site. A 47 floor building entirely aside from the twin towers, Building 7, hit with minor debris and experiencing a fire that was anything EXCEPT capable of collapsing a steel and concrete structure, collapsed precisely as though it had been taken down with a professional demolition. I noticed that. So did Jesse Ventura, we both have military special operations backgrounds and know how things can and cant be blown up. One thousand five hundred professionally trained architects and engineers also noticed, they put their signatures (and lives) on the line stating exactly that. Yet the congress wont touch the facts surrounding the collapse of Building 7 with the proverbial 10 foot pole. Why not? The spy versus spy game is a twisted business and twisted people make twisted mistakes. I could easily imagine a group that would murder JFK, as easily running future rogue CIA & FBI cell; opening every possible door for a group of Arabs resembling nothing so much as a dark comedy while believing they were penetrating the USA security to precipitate 9/11, when in actuality the red carpet was being rolled out for them. And then you have MOSSAD not realizing they had the rogue CIA family cells back in the operation, as they were opening doors for the same group of duped Arabs. If the entire thing were to fall apart, the god fearing American extremists could always point their finger at the Jews wanting the USA fighting their wars. The joke is on MOSSAD because their operation had been co-opted as cover for the American operation, just in case. In fact the Americans fully intend

those wars fought on Israels behalf will culminate in Israels destruction. Nothing quite like a taste of literal Armageddon according to the USAs family cult interpretation of Bible Prophecy. Pretty dumb, eh? The CIA and MOSSAD, as well the American and the Israeli political leadership, all, are up to their necks in corruption over arms deals related to drug cartels, revolving corporate doors in military contracting, add nausea. In Israel, a Gaza war criminal, Tipsi Livni, can be considered moderate and ethical with uncompromising integrity in comparison with the psychopath Bibi Netanyahu. In the USA, the Clintons seem bastions of sanity by comparison to Bush, but we had the wrong special prosecutor, Kenneth Starr, who looked into everything that would come to nothing more than lying about a blow-job. Meanwhile, in Mena, Arkansas, the CIA had been drug running into Clintons state, where two teen boys, out hunting one morning, were murdered for stumbling on a major narcotics transfer; the facts were covered up by Clintons state police, going to the highest levels of state government. Again, back in Israel, Olmert can get back into politics, having shaken off his corruption conviction as minor. And in the USA, CIA family man George H.W. Bush almost certainly had told Dick Cheney something along the lines of: Now Dick, we both know my kid is not the brightest bulb on the block, hell actually take whatever we would like to see put out there, at face value. It always works better when the man in charge believes in the lies, hence: Stupid is as stupid does

If The Left Are Sheep, The Right Are Fish If the Left are sheep, the Right are fish: How our Constitutions foundational law is trashed by both parties I was, quite frankly, astounded when then Senator Obama voted to give the telecoms immunity from liability during his run for the presidency. Obama is supposedly a Constitutional law professor at the University of Chicago, a position he holds, if not actively, to this day. But life for me has been, as it has been for many of you, and should be for everyone who wishes to grow in their understanding of our national circumstance, an exercise in the death of naivety In my case, the naivety which had begun to die going to the above noted event, concerns the pure, concentrated and unmitigated gall that the votes of over fifty lawyers who happen to be senators, a certain famous constitutional law professor among them, could thumb their nose at any oath to uphold the constitution with a yea voting in a law that exercises three constitutional violations on its face, because the law in question is an ex post facto, legislative pardon that violates our citizens right to petition for redress by denying suit at equity Let me explain. The telecoms played ball with criminals in the Bush administration by participating in what amounted to warrant-less searches and eves-dropping without court order, stealing and handing over peoples personal

information in criminal acts Americans had been historically protected from by our constitution and pertinent laws. This opened the telecom corporations to both criminal penalties and civil liabilities. There were crimes committed which should have been prosecuted and people have a right to sue. The potential liability looked pretty big and the telecoms lobbied for immunity 1) ex post facto. Our constitution specifically prohibits Congress making any ex post facto law, as typically or historically applied that means a behavior cannot be criminalized after the fact and applied retroactively, or more broadly, new laws cannot be made governing an event that is in the past. In this 2nd case we have a valid constitutional claim prohibiting making a law excusing past criminal civil liberties violations against our citizens, violations which had created liabilities. What is required for the criminal aspect solely, is a PARDON. 2) legislative pardon: Congress cannot give pardons to the individuals within the telecoms whod signed off on and perpetrated the crimes, that is reserved by our constitution to the president and neither can the Congress or the President pardon corporations in any manner excusing civil liability, the corporations must be held accountable and seek any leniency based on possible mitigation factors from the courts, because [3 & 4 combine to make a constitutional principle] 3) the right to petition for redress is promised to every citizen who has been wronged and

4) suit at equity, that is, the courts existing to do what is right by the citizen, is the avenue provided by our constitution to fulfill the promise of every wronged citizens right to petition for redress or it should be said there is no right of corporate or government impunity. Citizens petitions for remedies and compensation may not be preemptively denied fair hearing in our courts of law by the Congress The oath to our constitution had been meant to prevent such patently wrong laws in the first instance. That the oath is become patently meaningless to the majority of trained lawyers who should know these things and make up the Congress, points squarely to the core of corrupt process usurping our rule of law. Now, what Id point out to my conservative friends regarding the Senator Obama vote in the case of the Congress patently and illegally extending immunity to the telecoms in violation of every yea voting senators oath to uphold the constitution of these United States is: that farcical and patently criminal vote violating our most fundamental rights passed with a majority of Republican senators backing. The Democrats voting in favor of the law were a distinct minority. YOUR conservative peoples representatives are primarily responsible for this particular travesty of justice, which has the effect of trashing our Bill of Rights particularly, and other provisions of our constitution generally.

Get comfortable with that thought because now I am going to point to some more Republican chicanery undermining our foundational law that is going to hurt some more if you keep reading and are open and honest and willing to look at what has overcome us all, not at the hands of liberals or conservatives, but on account of all ourselves buying into political lies. The American constitution, any and all neo-con Liars for Jesus notwithstanding, is based on secular ethics, not Christian morality. There IS a difference and that difference is sometimes quite pronounced, as I will demonstrate was the case with the dont ask, dont tell law forbidding gays serving openly in our military. As a heterosexual secular ethicist, I tolerate male homosexuals and actually get on quite well with lesbians. They very thought of sex with another man revolts me but that is largely beside the point. What I recognize, and what our founding law supports, is the idea a free society mostly cannot legislate morality. Time should have taught us this, as there have been numerous bigoted and unconstitutional laws in the history of our nation made by fundamentalists of one generation to the next.. but what it all boils down to is, it is our constitutions demand that it is none of our business if a couple of guys practice fellatio, or lesbians cunnilingus, in the privacy of their home. If they are good citizens in a secular sense, perform their civic duties responsibly and dont push their private sexual life in peoples face, we have to respect they have a right to

their lifestyle and a right to be seen affectionately in public together no differently to my own behaviors with a woman in my life. Do I copulate in public with my opposite sex partner? No. Do they perform sex acts in public with their same sex partner? No. No differently, if I can kiss my woman in public, so may they kiss their same sex partner in public. I dont have to watch and neither do you.. and insofar as influencing children, there is no more a rude thing to do to a child than force them into denial of our worlds realities, a form of lying, you do not raise aware citizens that way. Dont ask, dont tell crossed our constitutions demand that there be equal protection of all citizens before the law. A law that allows heterosexual expression of ones sexual preference only, violates the rights of gays. It is quite clear and it is that simple. Before I go into how President Obama and the Senate Republicans BOTH had subverted out rule of law and damaging our constitution with using the dont ask, dont tell as a political football, it is in order here to give a further short exam of the secular ethics our law is based upon, versus religious, or in the USA, largely Christian morality. Our nation was founded by people with varying experiences at the hands of religion, with nearly all of those experiences negative. It was not only the persecuted religious minority by the religious majority which migrated to what became the USA, but also the political dissident

and intellectual who left a country with officially sanctioned state religion used as a tool of repression, such as the Church of England, or the free or secular thinkers who abandoned Germany, France, Italy or Spain among many other nations where religious intolerance persecuted anyone who stepped out of the officially sanctioned lines of thinking. The result is what you see in our First Amendment, it is no accident that lumped together there, are freedom of expression, that protects the secular people particularly, and the freedom of people to practice ANY religion and very importantly, in the same paragraph religion is altogether forbidden in the affairs of state. This was the original intent of our founders, again, any Liars for Jesus notwithstanding. Of course our founders realized we live in an imperfect world and what they attempted to do was in fact establish a libertarian society which would create an environment for elevated awareness and advancement of the future generations with a generous opportunity for our citizenrygiven in our founding law. Thomas Jefferson looked at the New England Puritans as hopelessly backward people living out a primitive demonic fantasy, whereas John Adams had a revulsion similar to homophobia in relation to Benjamin Franklins libertine philosophies and lifestyle, examples given, but they and other founders all did one thing very well, they tolerated one another, setting aside differences to both: win the revolution and write our constitution intended to preserve the rights of one and all despite their differences. As a group, these men realized there is a sole avenue to any positive future and that avenue

is tolerance. This is the driving purpose behind our having an established secular republic where religious morals are deliberately allowed no part in government and those recent Supreme Court Justices who best personified these secular principles of tolerance were Republicans or Republican appointed, Justice Brennan and Justice Stevens. Now, if the left and right both forget Jesus admonition not to throw stones, that is, when we have begun throwing our found(er)ing law through windows like rocks with notes attached, and that is where we are now as a political culture, with smears coming in the name of our constitution, particularly on the right because of Liars for Jesus rewriting American history, and stones thrown from the left because of a snotty disdain for any and all things conservative which had been smeared hopelessly by association with the criminal Bush, no matter the fact there are yet many fine and honorable people on the right, all is in a fine mess. And with the people fighting like the brawl portrayed at the close of Mel Brooks film Blazing Saddles, money and its associated personalities in politics are having a field day while corporate boards run away with our republic. Now, money in politics played off conservative Christian morality against liberal secular ethics with Dont ask, dont tell and both sides on the part of the American people lost and money in politics won. Erstwhile constitutional law professor and pretender to commander-in-chief Obama had a court ruling in his pocket

which flatly stated Dont ask, dont tell is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Now, if indeed Obama is commander-in-chief of our military, it was his undeniable duty to simply ORDER Dont ask, dont tell to be discontinued. But no, manipulative Chicago politicians dont play the constitutional rules of the game straight, so he has his own United States Department of Justice hold up the ruling with an appeal, while the senate neo-con Republicans threatened any attempt to repeal a patently unconstitutional Dont ask, dont tell law by the congress, an act that would made the court order moot. This play motivated both left and right, rank and file, to fight and pour tremendous energy into hating each other over whether a soldier can get his blow job from a man rather than a woman, and when nobody is looking at that. I hope you all suddenly feel real bright over why real problems this country faces, never get solved, all the while money runs amok in politics. But it is actually much, much more than that. It so happens both George Sr and George W Bush had a very close and intimate friend of decades in a real dilemma over dont ask, dont tell. Obamas Evangelical Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, a man epitomized in the warning President Eisenhower gave us about the Military/Industrial Complex and its power to corrupt our republic, had asked the Congress to repeal dont ask, dont tell in a move to buy time for his religious extremist generals belonging to the right wing Officers Christian Fellowship. The

Officers Christian Fellowship is behind the acts causing the U.S. military to be sued via the Military Religious Freedom Foundation by well over 28,000 active duty United States soldiers because the soldiers are being force fed extremist religious right hate propaganda by their superiors. These extremist officers literally believe Muslims are the children of Satan and are pushing the USA efforts in Afghanistan as a religious crusade in an army where recently soldiers who sought combat stress psychological counseling were instead sent to a chaplain who told them their problems would be solved if only they would become born again in Jesus and kill Muslims for Christ. Small wonder there is epidemic suicide in the United States military, not to mention the noted salient facts making an ongoing lie of Obamas claims the USA is repairing relations with the Islamic world. Of course, in extremist Christian morality, homosexuals are aberrant perverts deserving of nothing less than death according to primitive mosaic laws and now we will have a whole new class of persecution in our military. Now, because the Congress repealed dont ask, dont tell while Obamas Attorney General kept the case tied up in appeals, it is much easier for our extremist Christians in government to sweep unconstitutional religious repression of gays by our Christian Taliban generals and their religious extremist officer-minions under the rug, because it will fall under military justice structures and be much more difficult to bring justice into line with constitutional principles when gays are beaten or murdered with friendly

fire and lesbians beaten and raped, all with the tacit encouragement of the extreme homophobic Officers Christian Fellowship members whose mission is a Godly military in a crusade to kill Muslims for Jesus Christ in a command structure which already covers up rampant rape of its woman soldiers -going so far as the leadership at the Pentagon had ordered its top expert on sexual abuse not to testify before the Congress. This repeal had been preferred by the close Bush family friend and evangelical Robert Gates because he knew it would render the Federal Court case moot, and everything begins again from scratch with enforcing the rights of soldiers in the military system where his generals can finesse outcomes. Gates also knew that his generals flipping their middle fingers at a federal judges court order overturning Dont ask, dont tell was a real risk because federal judges in theory can take over the operations of entire departments or even branches of government with a Consent Decree, pointed at people who refuse to bow to the rule of law and honor courts ordering our institutions into line with constitutional principles. Accordingly, the repeal of dont ask, dont tell and attending loss of Federal Court jurisdiction is in actuality a closet victory for the extreme neo-con leadership of the USAs military Meanwhile Gates homophobic religious right support base in the senate played to their own homophobic religious right base at home which collectively would flip out over any vote throwing out an unconstitutional law or any other

act to honor the constitutional rights of fags and Gates escaped a real catch 22. And so it is: so long as politicians on the right have to pander to voters who follow mental whack jobs like Ann Coulter, to keep the conservative vote in one block, while the left cant shake off the legacy of Chicago style politics, any truly sane center ground allowing for real progress on issues that matter, is pie-in-the-sky. All the while, the progressive left had been backing the right thing to do by our constitution, and are the very people Obamas Department of Justice had been fighting in the courts while holding up with appeal the Judges order throwing out dont ask, dont tell and otherwise no player involved except this one judge had honored our constitution, for all of our conservative voters swallowing the bait of their candidates oath to our constitution and professed love for our Bill of Rights. There you have it- how in a most perverted sense the Republican senators play a supportive game in cahoots with Obama, when it comes to their common cause of keeping the right and left fighting, while money runs amok buying our elections with political lies and in the course of things, trashes our constitution and national sanity.

Israel & Gaza Dov Weisglass: "The idea is to put the Palestinians on a diet, but not to make them die of hunger" This quote is in reference to the Gaza blockade where only the minimal survival sustenance has been allowed into Gaza as a matter of official policy for years. When you read in the news that Israel has opened a crossing into Gaza to allow food and medicines across, it is subject to the statement of Dov Weisglass. The reported openings are, in actuality, a means of generating a positive propaganda spin from what is in actuality enforcing the Palestinians living in what amounts to a Ghetto. The word Ghetto in relation to Jewish history is not a kind reference. It recalls the Ashkenazi experience at the hands of the NAZIs. It also recalls the known malignant social phenomena Intergenerational Violence, where one generation passes on behaviors to the next generation. I had been recently censored at The Guardian public forum (discussion of articles) for daring to point out the Price Tag vandalism by the fundamentalist Israeli settlers in the West Bank resembled Krystallnacht insofar (I was clear in this) as the social phenomena of Intergenerational Violence passes a malignant behavior on to a new generation. This is not only a family phenomena but a community phenomena. No different to the behaviors of the NAZIs impacted the behaviors of some Ashkenazi,

those Ashkenai are impacting the behaviors of many Palestinians in a spiral of intergenerational violence. It is in this same context of Intergenerational Violence, I will point out Gaza resembles a Ghetto. The Palestinian young people presently growing up in Gaza will see themselves as Freedom Fighters little differently to those Jews who lived in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1944. So a new cycle of violence begins with a new generation. Insofar as money attending the power-corrupt insures this cycle only continues, the brilliant people at J Street (a Jewish organization) recently polled the American Jewish community and came up with a startling finding: 72% of American Jews support a Palestinian state based on the pre1967 borders of Israel .. including East Jerusalem, but this fact is drowned out by the money of AIPAC. Who supports AIPAC? The right-wing minority Jews, politically wedded to a by far, far larger base of right-wing Christians. In essence, it is right-wing Christians producing the money and political drive supporting the Israeli policies in both the West Bank and Gaza. How it is politicians on the centerleft fail to shake off the boogey-man of AIPAC in the name of sanity and stand up to infantile, fascist killers like Bibi Netanyahu, is beyond the pale of reason. It is cowardice. Netanyahu belongs to the LIKUD party which has been in governance (in coalition with even more extreme right) since 2009. An IDF Special Forces veteran, Netanyahu has been known to have ordered illegal international political

assassinations (murders), most famously the failed 1997 attempt on HAMAS leader Khalid Mashaal. Under Netanyahu, the West Bank settlers price tag criminality not only goes on largely undetected (and unpunished) by one of the best governments in the world at intelligence, his political platform call for annexation of all Palestinian lands to the bank of the Jordan River, in effect, Netanyahu and LIKUD are as dedicated to the destruction of a Palestinian state as HAMAS is dedicated to the destruction of Israel. This reality underlies the present circumstance. It should be recalled it was Menachem Begin, who later became Israeli Prime Minister, built and detonated the first car bomb ever used in an indiscriminate act of terror in what is now Israel. Prior to the events his act had introduced to the middle east, 80,000 of the Arab worlds nearly one million Sephardic Jews lived in Cairo alone, living largely in peace with their culturally near identical Muslim neighbors, a legacy of over 1,000 years tolerance. That tolerance had been destroyed and the blame can be fairly apportioned in a major share to the policies of the Ashkenazi victims of intergenerational violence, now in turn perpetrated against any perceived existential threat: Arab nationalism and Iran, even Americans and/or American Jews who stand up to AIPAC, but most particularly focused on the Palestinian people. So long as there is a Palestinian identity tied to the West Bank, it stands in the way of a vision both Christian and Jewish right-wing ideologues hold for a Greater Israel.

The equation is World Peace versus LIKUD and the American religious right in a spiral of escalating intergenerational violence the western democracies political leadership is too cowardly to honestly address. In fact so long as LIKUD call for a Greater Israel to the bank of the Jordan River, any lip service to peace based on a Palestinian state is a lie. What is clear is, the settlement policy is a determined effort to destroy any Palestinian identity with ties to the land. In regards to Gaza, the only possible purpose (outside irrational cruelty) of the blockades denial of sufficient non-military material to afford that population any opportunity at a reasonable international commerce and attending standard of living is to drive it out in despair. But its not working. And even if it did, Israelis will have (with the backing of the western democracies who support the Israeli policies with arms and money, lip service to peace notwithstanding) created a negative mirror image of their own history. Meanwhile, the moderate Ashkenazi, secular Jews, humanist Jews, Sephardic Jews, Ethiopian Jews, sane Jews, all pay for the policies, with the anti-semitism generated by the behaviors of personalities like Netanyahu, not only the Arabs suffer. The insanity of it all is expressed in AIPAC which only exists in the state of power it does today because of extreme Christian support, Christian support that is firmly grounded in a belief they are the New Jews who will inherit Jerusalem when Israel has finally self-destructed. Gods chosen people is a dumb idea .. get over it.

If only because it is the responsibility of leadership to demonstrate responsible attitudes in relation to the acts of nations. And crucial, is that nation which had transgressed most egregiously in historic times should demonstrate this courage to again confront the worst of these infantile and irrational behaviors, if only to remind the USA, not only Israel, do not dare to go down this road, do not dare to become the NAZIs.

No Snowflake in an Avalanche (a book review) The book is a damning indictment of the cowardice of men in leadership, as well a testament to the courage and sacrifice of those they presume to lead. For anyone whod thought a nascent and growing extreme fundamentalism in the USA merely a threat, this book should make them think again and should rightfully frighten and galvanize to action anyone concerned a cult within our military can both: break the mentality of, and train a young officer for future assignment to launch nuclear weapons. Where to begin? I could write essays on multiple subjects of peril this book has only scratched the surface of, yet that scratch bleeds profusely throughout its pages. It may seem odd to some that, for me, the most striking and empathetic passages of the book is a wife and mother with Multiple Sclerosis surrendering her dream of a life as uncomplicated as possible, as a matter of principle, giving up her pursuit of happiness and the American Dream to take on the malignant social cancer infesting and infecting what must ultimately be what our nation is judged by in the eyes of todays world; The perception of American empire, the Armed Forces of the United States of America. The human dimension is profound, the humiliation, the grief, the sacrifice and the fighting back against stacked odds at every turn for those ethical civilian and military warriors detailed in this book.

Where to begin? Striking is the thought, here is the true storys protagonist with impeccable conservative credentials, Michael L. Mikey Weinstein, breaking down every stereotype and smashing every barrier in a focused, concerted effort which, if successful, and there is no guarantee of success, should win the admiration of dyed in the wool liberals, feminists particularly, and people of every sane persuasion. Mikey has marched a long march to arrive on the cusp of achieving immortality in history. This is no small achievement in its own right, that a man, Mikey Weinstein, would have come so far in his personal evolution as to overcome his history of working to keep Iran-Contra from spilling into the open under Reagan, to win my avowed admiration. But here again is a striking moment, it was my own experiences as a soldier had turned me against wars altogether, no different to Howard Zinn. Mikey fits the same mold, only we each have our separate timelines to fated evolution and goals. Mikeys goal is quite straight forward. To take the American military, the most lethal military in the world by far, out of the hands of and keep it out of the hands of, what can only be accurately described as Madmen. Any such endeavor is highly worthy of any liberal support. Where to begin? Critically important, the book makes a case for young American service women and men dying in vain on account of the narcissism, and nothing more, of those General Officers and politicians trusted with our soldiers care at the highest levels of these United States of Americas institutions, whether at the level of the Joint

Chiefs of Staff or sitting in either house of Congress. This last will be the focus of my essay, I will leave the several other critically important subjects to the insights of other reviewers. I cannot speak to nukes as an expert, there are better qualified to speak to contemporary military/civilian life, but one thing I had dusted off and polished these past several years were my intelligence analysis skills. Here follows my analysis, in lockstep with the books conclusions, insofar as how deeply penetrated and compromised our militarys highest offices and ranking officer corps have become by dominionism and will yet cost us dearly in American lives and blood. In my day, our Special Operations Forces had not yet become pervasively criminalized. We saw ourselves more along the lines of an elite Peace Corps working the most hazardous territories of a Cold War world. Critical to our mission was pacification of populace in the areas we worked, and pacification is and was a straightforward word. We worked to bring peace to neighborhoods in conflicts. John Wayne stereotype aside, the military aspects were honest endeavor to provide self-defense training to remote villages with an objective the populace could not be easily exploited by irregular militia, but that was never going to be accomplished in any case, except that we understood and respected and even integrated to the local customs and culture. That we had elite and lethal training was primarily survival oriented, yes there were the occasional special operation to perhaps decapitate the leadership of a particular guerrilla group or undertake sabotage behind enemy lines in the course of our work, examples given, but

this was the exception, not the rule. Primarily our superior skills were required to operate small teams in areas where we might meet with considerably stronger numerical force. The highly honed and elite skills of the 1960s and 1970s Green Berets teams were more often than not, more than equal to any larger irregular force. If vastly out numbered, we knew how to inflict savage and costly casualties on our pursuers in the course of evasion. In our pacification work, Action Anthropology was the norm of the day. We integrated to our human and social environment. We were armed educators, medical providers and social workers. We were not primarily meant to be offensive, to the contrary, restraint was a big piece of our discipline and training. Cowboy mentalities were not tolerated. It is quite clear things have changed away from this focus, dramatically, for the military applications of special operations forces, in the approximately four decades since Vietnam. In the span of a few hours or so in Iraq, one Special Forces team leader, inflamed by watching the Passion of the Christ, instigated an incident that effectively made a war zone of an entire neighborhood and radicalized several hundred, perhaps several thousand Muslims. This commissioned officer had used a bullhorn to have Jesus kill Mohammed blared into a Muslim neighborhood, and when the perfectly predictable reaction was everyone with a gun in that area of the city showing up to shoot at this moron, a weapon that could blow through the front and back wall of a house was turned on the neighborhood homes by the Special Forces team.

Many of those consequently radicalized Iraqis no doubt turned to local militia and offered their services to train to kill our regular American soldiers over this one of many [unpunished] incidents of Christian extremism provided elite training. Our elite forces had just accomplished the absolutely criminal act of getting more Americans killed in future battles. This is the criminalization of our special operations forces by extremist Christian fundamentalist commanders. Who are those commanders? I will name two. General William G. Boykin. A rabid fundamentalist Christian, his career in special operations is littered with tactical disasters, it would seem his only qualifications to have advanced throughout his career is his belief in God. That and his belief in his special operations crusaders. With these mentalities at the top of command, what is promoted under you will be a solid corps of those with shared bigoted beliefs. General Boykin, since his retirement in 2007, had to be dis-invited from speaking at West Point Academy on account of his virulent hatred of all things and people that are not Christian or not Christian enough. Consider it is todays special operations trained veterans who move into SWAT jobs in your local and state police force, are hired by Blackwater [then Xe Corp, now Academi, a lot of changed identities over a string of fundamentalism motivated crimes] and other de facto corporate militia, join the CIA and FBI or simply become mercenaries. These people with elite training and extreme belief will be getting many more Americans killed over a long haul ahead of us and not only in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. Their numbers are only growing, thanks in large part to:

General Patraeus. It is common political knowledge in Washington DC, that President Obama had appointed General Patraeus to head the CIA as a means of sidelining the Generals political ambitions over serious concerns Patraeus would hook up with the likes of Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachman in a run against Obama for the presidency in 2012. Either way you have it, a commanderin-chief, whether a military veteran or not, is a sword that can cut two ways. Obamas naivet in military affairs, having never served, is the 2nd worst possible circumstance in an America where naked fundamentalist ambition has overtaken the leadership of American military command structures, outside an out and out fundamentalist president. That Obama would, as a matter of political expediency, appoint Patraeus to head up the CIA with its out of control Operational Division working in close concert with the radicalized and criminalized Christian extremist special operations forces of todays American military, is simply asking for disaster. General Patraeus was key [together with Robert Gates] in convincing Obama to radically beef up the USAs special operations forces, at a time it was already decided the overall troop numbers would have to be reduced. General Patraeus has had a close association with special operations forces throughout his career. Since Patraeus appointment to DCI [Director of Central Intelligence or CIA] Admiral William H McRaven, now overall boss of the special operations forces which these days are routinely assigned to CIA operational missions, has requested his forces be allowed to operate outside the traditional

Department of Defense channels. This is, no doubt, a sleight-of-hand grab for these elite forces away from normal supervision via established Department of Defense structures, and away from any significant oversight, by Admiral McRavens close professional associate CIA Director Patraeus. This cannot be a good thing. The myth of General Patraeus in the public purview is a demonstrable tactical lie. In fact the surge that turned around the war in Iraq for which he became famous was at best a deceit along the lines of a shell game or bait and switch. General Patraeus beefed up the American force, momentarily disrupted the insurgency with an all out push that could not be sustained in any case, and then pulled the bulk of the American forces back to their bases and took the Americans, for the first time, largely out of public circulation before the insurgents could regroup. It is this removing the American soldiers from the everyday Iraqi life which had dramatically dropped the violence in Iraq, nothing more. The same could have been accomplished in 2004, and honestly at that, were it not for literally crusading extremist neo-con commanders and secular officers afraid to speak out and challenge the status quo at the CIA and Pentagon, to call a spade a spade, a career ending move. It is truly Faustian, if you speak out your career is over and you have been weeded from the ranks which only become more Christian extremist with the favored or blessed replacements, if you keep your mouth shut, it all evolves towards fascism regardless. Moving over to Afghanistan, notoriously there have been many special operations forces crimes, inclusive of

attacking weddings and other incidents where fleeing women and kids had been shot in their backs, cold blooded murders. We pay the Afghans compensation but the root problem of anti-Islam fundamentalism is never effectively addressed and the hate for the Americans only spreads. General Patraeus has had a large hand in keeping these American special operations independent of NATO, effectively exercising impunity and generating a strengthened Taliban when the Americans are seen as a worse curse. Now, we are seeing the full fruition of the crusading mentality and criminal anti-social behaviors with the burning of the Koran riots in Kabul triggering a long pent up but growing frustration of the Afghan people as a whole. No Snowflake in an Avalanche points towards the inevitable conclusion: Our fundamentalist neo-con Generals, in the guise of patriotism, have handed an untrained Obama a perfect storm. This is no accident. The books holdings are consistent with the scenario I have drawn for the reader from my knowledge of social psychology, special operations intelligence and tactics. The book meticulously documents the facts of the extremism in our military leadership, it is a well written book, concise and cohesive to the points of sedition and treason at the highest levels of the United States Armed Forces and matches my independent assessment of these past several years, summarized in the preceding-

More importantly, reasonable and sane people should examine how it is we are bled as a society, as we bleed other societies, by criminal personalities in charge of policy pursued by our extremist Christian Taliban generals; people who precisely fit a maxim of Einstein: We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them In short: In 1987, former Obama Secretary of Defense and career CIA man, Robert Gates, who is practically a son of George H.W. Bush and brother to George W. Bush, had organized and was coordinating the expenditure of $630 million (nearly 1.5 trillion, adjusted for inflation) and its related delivery of 65,000 tons of weapons and ammunition per year, into Afghanistan. This effort both; drove out the Russians and left Afghanistan in the hands of armed to the teeth war lords.

Then, the general population of Afghanistan, desperate to be rid of the war lords, supported the rise of the Taliban. The Taliban in turn terrorized the population of Afghanistan and many Afghans welcomed the subsequent American invasion. In turn, the Americans, instead of understanding a tribal society and focusing on strengthening rural stability based on existing social structures; with focus on improving health and education in decentralized tribal regions, preferred propping up a corrupt central government. And the Americans stayed on to be certain that artificial, alien and fraudulently elected corrupt institution exercised authority over a tribal culture that rejects the very concept, causing widening hostility and loss of good will. As more and more Afghans became alienated to the American presence propping up the alien and corrupt central regimes structure, Afghanistans indigenous Pashtun nationalism became an enemy recruiting blessing, strengthening and rebuilding the Taliban. Our generals then became more aggressive and this enticed more recruits to the Taliban, resulting in Bush buddies Robert Gates, General McChrystal and General Patraeus talking their new lap-dog president into ever more aggressive but failed tactics, with the result of empowering the Taliban yet more. When Hillary Clinton and Susan Rice state American support of the war in Afghanistan is essential to Afghan womens rights, seldom has a greater political lie been told.

Since the American military occupation of Afghanistan, heroin has flooded the world, as it has everywhere the CIA has been involved with conflict in favorable opium cultivating climates. Since 2009, seventy percent of retiring American three and four star generals have moved into the military contracting business where immense profits are to be made. From 2001 to 2011, nearly four trillion dollars had been spent by the USA in Afghanistan. It is well over four trillion to now. Meanwhile, sincere persons that might have brought peace that would have cut into the profiteering are murdered in night raids by special operations forces whose views have been shaped by our Pentagons Christian Taliban. And finally we are back to square one, with the Americans arming and turning the effort back to the Afghan war lords. The USAs Afghanistan efforts are shining example of repeatedly failed and criminal policies that can only be described as The Greatest Criminal Endeavor, EVER.

The Crimes of General Patraeus I had previously posted this compilation of criminal events for which the rabid Christian extremist General Patraeus bears much responsibility under the title Covered up: More Than 1/3 of American Women Soldiers Raped But it is about much more than rape, it is about covering up corruption associated murders and, of course, corruption. Moreover, anyone who pursued a close study of events in Iraq and Afghanistan could arrive at a reasonable conclusion the United States military generally, and David Patreaus particularly, had engaged in a world class deceit concerning the course of both conflicts. In Iraq, the surge credited with reducing the violence there is a patent bait and switch perpetrated on public opinion. In fact the surge upped the violence dramatically during the course of combat operations and it was the subsequent rapid withdrawal of the American soldiers to their bases that dropped the violence. In fact it was the first time since the invasion the Americans had been taken out of exposure by largely restricting them to their bases. The military used the spin the surge had accomplished the reduced violence when in fact nothing could be further from the truth. In Afghanistan, Patreaus upped the special operations night raids & drone strikes dramatically while disingenuously calling for reining in air strikes .. all the while keeping the

special operations forces independent of NATO command and oversight. The increased night raids were a godsend to the Taliban recruiting effort and strengthened the American and allied opposing force considerably. The war in Afghanistan has gone downhill since. A new article in The American Conservative about the near absolute impunity of American generals in relation to corruption caused me to re-post the following under the new title. Our military suffers under a pervasively criminal leadership and there is no better example than how our women soldiers, particularly those who come too close to corruption, are raped and often murdered out of hand** September 2008 | WASHINGTON (CNN) A congresswoman said Thursday that her jaw dropped when military doctors told her that four in 10 women at a veterans hospital reported being sexually assaulted while in the military. A government report indicates that the numbers could be even higher. Rep. Jane Harman, D-California, spoke before a House panel investigating the way the military handles reports of sexual assault. My jaw dropped when the doctors told me that 41 percent of the female veterans seen there say they were victims of sexual assault while serving in the military, said Harman,

who has long sought better protection of women in the military. We have an epidemic here, she said. Women serving in the U.S. military today are more likely to be raped by a fellow soldier than killed by enemy fire in Iraq. As of July 24, 100 women had died in Iraq, according to the Pentagon. In 2007, Harman said, only 181 out of 2,212 reports of military sexual assaults, or 8 percent, were referred to courts martial. By comparison, she said, 40 percent of those arrested in the civilian world on such charges are prosecuted. But when it came time for the military to defend itself, the panel was told that the Pentagons top official on sexual abuse, Dr. Kaye Whitley, was ordered not to show up despite a subpoena. Rep. John Tierney, the panels chairman and a Democrat from Massachusetts, angrily responded, these actions by the Defense Department are inexplicable. The Defense Department appears to be willfully and blatantly advising Dr. Whitley not to comply with a duly authorized congressional subpoena, Tierney said. The committee also heard from Mary Lauterbach, the mother of Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, a 20-year-old

pregnant Marine who was killed in December, allegedly by a fellow Marine. I believe that Maria would be alive today if the Marines had provided a more effective system to protect the victims of sexual assault, she said. In the months after her daughter filed the rape claim, she said, the military didnt seem to take her seriously, and the onus was on Maria to connect the dots. Another woman, Ingrid Torres, described being raped on a U.S. base in Korea when she worked with the American Red Cross. I was raped while I slept, she said. At the 14 installations where GAO administered its survey, 103 service members indicated that they had been sexually assaulted within the preceding 12 months. Of these, 52 service members indicated that they did not report the sexual assault, the GAO said. The office found that the military and Coast Guard have established policies to address sexual assault but that the implementation of the programs is hampered by an array of factors, including that most, but not all, commanders support the programs.

Left unchecked, these challenges can discourage or prevent some service members from using the programs when needed, the GAO said. My take on this is the fundamentalist Christian military commanders will not address rape. This is the missing component: Fundamentalism = rape in male hierarchal culture that teaches women are dirty and inferior. Until the proper information is developed and addressed, this aspect of the exclusionary Christian Dominion of the 15,000 strong Officers Christian Fellowship component in the USA militarys officer corps will continue in a position of power to shield their fellow soldiers from rape prosecutions. This fundamentalist Christian attitude will not allow rape punishments to be prioritized (too many far more important things they will wish to busy themselves with) in the case of Born Again Christian males raping women. However if it were non-Christian males committing rape, I predict a study addressing the wider issues of faith in the military relating to or inclusive of rape will draw distinctions related to their exclusionary theology. The Army Strong Bonds Program. The present U.S. Government funded Strong Bonds program replaced a decade old, proven program called Building Strong and Ready Families (BSRF), which was a collaboration between the Army Public Health Nurses and the Chaplain Corps. Strong Bonds is now an evangelistic Christian program operating under the guise of a pre-deployment and post-deployment family wellness and marriage training program. Strong Bonds eliminated the public health nurses and health education aspects that were a large part of

BSRF, created a program run entirely by chaplains who facilitate almost exclusively of Christian religious retreats. These retreats are typically held at ski lodges, beach resorts, and other attractive vacation spots. The materials authorized by the Army for Strong Bonds are not religious. However, these authorized materials are only required to be used for a minimal number of the training hours, leaving the remaining mandatory training hours open for other materials selected by the chaplains. In some cases, the authorized material are completely eliminated, and the retreats are overtly Christian. In other cases, the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP), a secular program on the list of materials authorized for Strong Bonds, is being replaced by chaplains with CPREP, the Christian version of this program. At a Strong Bond program in Orlando, Florida from February 29, 200B, to March 2, 2008, the following material was distributed to attendees: A camouflage box, titled, Every Soldiers Battle Kit, and imprinted with the name, New Life Ministries, their phone number, website (http://www.newlife.com/). and phrase, Fighting the battle within. Since I posted on April 28 the article Is There an Army Cover Up of the Rape and Murder of Women Soldiers, the deaths of two more U.S. Army women in Iraq and Afghanistan have been listed as suicides the Sept. 28, 2007, death of 30-year-old Spc. Ciara Durkin and the Feb. 22, 2008, death of 25-year-old Spc. Keisha Morgan. Both suicides are disputed by the families of the women. Since April 2008, five more U.S. military women have died in Iraq three in noncombat-related incidents. Ninetynine U.S., six British and one Ukrainian military women and 13 U.S. female civilians have been killed in Iraq, Kuwait and Bahrain, as well as probably hundreds of thousands of Iraqi women and girls. Of the 99 U.S. military women, 64 were in the Army active component, nine in the Army National Guard, seven in the Army Reserve, seven in the Marine Corps, nine in the Navy and three in the Air Force. According to the Department of Defense, 41 of the 99 U.S. military women who have been killed in Iraq died in noncombat-related incidents. Of the 99 U.S. military women killed in the Iraq theater, 41 were women of color (21 African-Americans, 16 Latinas, three of Asian-Pacific descent and one Native American). Fourteen U.S. military women, including five in the Army, one in the Army National Guard, two in the Army Reserves, three in the Air Force, two in the Navy (on ships

supporting U.S. forces in Afghanistan) and one in the Marine Corps, one British military woman and six U.S. civilian women have been killed in Afghanistan. According to the Department of Defense, four U.S. military women in Afghanistan died in noncombat-related incidents, including one now classified as a suicide. Four military women of color (three African-Americans and one Latina) have been killed in Afghanistan. The deaths of 14 U.S. military (13 Army and one Navy) women and one British military woman who served in Iraq, Kuwait or Afghanistan have been classified as suicides. Two Army women in Iraq (Pfc. Hannah Gunterman McKinney, a victim of vehicular homicide, and Pfc. Kamisha Block, who was shot five times by a fellow soldier who then killed himself) and two Navy women in Bahrain (MASN Anamarie Camacho and MASN Genesia Gresham, both shot by a male sailor who then shot, but did not kill, himself) have died at the hands of fellow military personnel. Several more military women have died with unexplained noncombat gunshot wounds (U.S. Army Sgt. Melissa Valles, July 9, 2003: gunshot to the abdomen; Marine Lance Cpl. Juana Arellano, April 8, 2006: gunshot wound to the head while in a defensive position). Most of the deaths of women who have died of noncombat gunshot wounds have been classified as suicides, rather than homicides.

The Army, the only military service to release annual figures on suicides, reported that 115 soldiers committed suicide in 2007. According to Army figures, 32 soldiers committed suicide in Iraq and four in Afghanistan. Of the 115 Army suicides, 93 were in the Regular Army and 22 were in the Army National Guard or Reserves. The report lists five Army women as having committed suicide in 2007. Young, white, unmarried junior enlisted troops were the most likely to commit suicide, according to the report. From 2003 until August 2008, the deaths of 13 Army women and one Navy woman in Iraq and Afghanistan (including Kuwait and Bahrain) have been classified as suicides (numbers confirmed with various media sources): 2008 Spc. 2003 Spc. Alyssa Peterson (Tal Afar, Iraq), Sgt. Melissa Valles (Balad, Iraq) The demographics of those Army women who allegedly committed suicide are as intriguing as the circumstances of their deaths: Seven of the women, being between the ages of 30 and 47, were older than the norm (Davis, 47; Lannaman, 46; Dunn, 44; Banaszak, 35; Hoffmaster, 32; Sparks, 32; and Durkin, 30). (Most military suicides are in their 20s). Three were officers: a major (Davis), a captain and medical doctor (Hoffmaster) and a first lieutenant (Banaszak). Five were noncommissioned officers (Lannaman, Dunn, Sparks, Valles and Valdivia). Five were women of color (Morgan, Davis, Johnson, Lannaman, Valles). Four were from units based at Fort Hood, Texas, and were found dead at Camp Taji, Iraq (Dunn, Priest, Duerkson, and Morgan). Two were found dead at Camp Taji, Iraq, 11 days apart (Priest and Duerkson). Two were found dead at Balad, Iraq (Johnson and Valles). Two had been raped (Priest, 11 days prior to her death; Duerksen, during basic training).

One other was probably raped (Johnson, the night she died). Two were lesbians (Lannaman and Durkin). Two of the women were allegedly involved in bribes or shakedowns of contractors (Lannaman and Davis). Two had children (Davis and Banaszak). Three had expressed concerns about improprieties or irregularities in their commands (Durkins concerns were financial; Davis had given a seven-page deposition on contracting irregularities in Iraq the day before she died; Peterson was concerned about methods of interrogation of Iraqi prisoners). Several had been in touch with their families within days of their deaths and had not expressed feelings of depression (Morgan, Durkin, Davis, Priest, Johnson). The Death of Lavena Johnson As discussed in my article Is There an Army Cover Up of Rape and Murder of Women Soldiers?, 19-year-old Army Pvt. Lavena Johnson was found dead on the military base in Balad, Iraq, in July 2005, and her death was characterized by the Army as suicide from an M-16 rifle gunshot. From the day their daughters body was returned to them, the parents, both of whom have had a long association with the Army the father, a medical doctor,

is an Army veteran and worked 25 years as a Department of the Army civilian and the mother, too, worked for the Department of the Army harbored grave suspicions about the Armys investigation into Johnsons death and the Armys characterization of her death as suicide. As she had been in charge of a communications facility, Johnson was able to call home daily; in those calls, she gave no indication of emotional problems or being upset. In a letter to her parents after her death, Johnsons commanding officer, Capt. David Woods, wrote, Lavena was clearly happy and seemed in very good health both physically and emotionally. In viewing his daughters body at the funeral home, Dr. John Johnson was concerned about the bruising on her face. He was puzzled by the discrepancy in the autopsy report on the location of the gunshot wound. As an Army veteran and a long-time Army civilian employee who had counseled veterans, he was mystified how the exit wound of an M-16 shot could be so small. The hole in Lavenas head appeared to be more the size of a pistol shot rather than an M-16 round. But the gluing of military uniform white gloves onto Lavenas hands, hiding burns on one of her hands, is what deepened Dr. Johnsons concerns that the Armys investigation into the death of his daughter was flawed. Over the next two and a half years, Dr. and Mrs. Johnson and their family and friends, through the Freedom of Information Act and congressional offices, relentlessly and meticulously requested documents concerning Lavenas death from the Department of the Army. Gradually, with

the Armys response to each request for information, another piece of evidence about Johnsons death emerged. The military criminal investigators initial drawing of the death scene revealed that Johnsons M16 was found perfectly parallel to her body. The investigators sketch showed that her body was found inside a burning tent, under a wooden bench with an aerosol can nearby. A witness, an employee of the defense contractor Kellogg, Brown & Root (KBR), stated that he heard a gunshot and when he went to investigate, he found a KBR tent on fire. When he looked into the tent, he saw a body. The official Army investigation did not mention a fire, nor that Johnsons body had been pulled from the fire. KBR Women Employees Raped in Iraq The fact that Lavena Johnsons body was discovered in a KBR tent raises questions. Many KBR women employees have been raped in Iraq. One law firm in Houston has 15 clients with sexual assault, sexual harassment or retaliation complaints against Halliburton and its former subsidiary Kellogg, Brown & Root LLC (KBR), as well as against the Cayman Islandbased Service Employees International Inc., a KBR shell company (Karen Houppert, Another KBR Rape Case, The Nation, April 3, 2008). Two female employees of KBR who were raped while in Iraq have testified before Congress. On her fourth day in Iraq, July 28, 2005, Jamie Leigh Jones was gang-raped by

seven fellow KBR employees at Camp Hope in Baghdad. Jones rape occurred nine days after Lavena Johnson was found dead in a KBR tent at Balad Air Base. Jones was drugged, raped and beaten, and the injuries she suffered were so severe that she had to have reconstructive surgery on her chest. Jones reportedly was taken back to the KBR area, where she was placed into an empty shipping container under KBR armed guard for almost 24 hours without food or water or the ability to communicate with anyone. The military doctor who examined her turned over the rape kit photographs and statement to KBR. Jones persuaded a guard to allow her a phone call, which she made to her father. Her father promptly called their Texas congressional representative, Ted Poe, who then called the State Department in Iraq and demanded her immediate release. Jones was rescued shortly thereafter and quickly left Iraq. Congressman Poe again contacted the State Department and the Department of Justice in an effort to launch an investigation, but both departments ignored the requests and even refused to contact Poe for the next two years. The rape kit and the photographs of and statement from Jones taken by a military doctor disappeared. Jones testified Dec. 17, 2007, before the House Judiciary Committee on Enforcement of Federal Criminal Law to Protect Americans Working for U.S. Contractors in Iraq.

The nonprofit foundation Jones created after her ordeal, the Jamie Leigh Jones Foundation, has been contacted by 40 U.S. contractor employees alleging that they are the victims of sexual assault or sexual harassment on the job and that Halliburton, KBR and Service Employees International Inc. have not helped them or have obstructed their claims (Karen Houppert, Another KBR Rape Case, The Nation, April 3, 2008). Dawn Leamon was another civilian contractor employed by KBR who was raped allegedly by KBR employees. She was the sole medical provider at Camp Harper, a base near Basra in southern Iraq. Leamon reported being raped anally by a U.S. soldier in January 2008 while a KBR employee forced his penis into her mouth. She says she was told to keep quiet by her KBR supervisor and by the military liaison officer. Her laptop computer was seized within hours after she e-mailed a civilian lawyer. She testified on April 9, 2008, before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the hearing Closing Legal Loopholes: Prosecuting Sexual Assaults and Other Violent Crimes Committed Overseas by American Civilians in a Combat Environment. Johnsons Quest Continues in Daughters Death After two years of requesting documents, the family of Lavena Johnson received a set of papers from the Army that included a photocopy of a compact disk. Wondering why the copy was among the documents, Dr. Johnson requested the CD itself. The Army finally complied after a

congressman intervened. When Dr. Johnson viewed the CD, he was shocked to see photographs taken by Army investigators of his daughters body as it lay where her body had been found, as well as other photographs of her disrobed body taken during the investigation. The photographs revealed that Lavena, barely five feet tall and weighing less than 100 pounds, had been struck in the face with a blunt instrument, perhaps a weapon stock. Her nose was broken and her teeth knocked backward. One elbow was distended. The back of her clothes contained debris, indicating she had been dragged. The photographs of her disrobed body showed bruises, scratch marks and teeth imprints on the upper part of her body. The right side of her back as well as her right hand had been burned, apparently from a flammable liquid poured on her and then lighted. Photographs of her genital area revealed massive bruising and lacerations. A corrosive liquid had been poured into her genital area, probably to destroy DNA evidence of sexual assault. Despite the bruises, scratches, teeth imprints and burns on her body, Lavena was found completely dressed in the burning tent. There was a blood trail from outside the contractors tent to inside the tent. She apparently had been dressed after the attack and her attacker had placed her body in the tent before setting it on fire. Investigator records reveal that members of her unit said Johnson had told them she was going jogging with friends on the other side of the base. One unit member walked with

her to the post exchange, where she bought a soda, and then, in her Army workout clothes, Johnson went on by herself to meet friends and to exercise. The unit member said she was in good spirits, showing no indication of personal emotional problems. The Army investigators initially concluded that Pvt. Johnsons death was a homicide and indicated that on their paperwork. However, a decision apparently was made by higher officials that the investigators would stop the homicide inquiry and classify her death a suicide. Three weeks later, a final autopsy report from the U.S. Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, dated Aug. 13, 2005, said the cause of death was an intraoral gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death was a suicide. However, the autopsy report written after the July 22, 2005, autopsy at Dover Air Force Base and signed on Aug. 9, 2005 by associate medical examiner Lt. Cmdr. Edward Reedy and by chief deputy medical examiner Cmdr. James Caruso states much more in its opinion section: The 19 year old female, Lavena Johnson, died as a result of a gunshot wound of the head that caused injuries to the skull and brain. The entrance wound was inside the mouth and injuries to the lips and oral mucosa were a direct result of the discharge of the weapon. The exit wound was located on the left side of the head. No bullet or bullet fragments were recovered. Toxicology was negative for alcohol and other screened drugs. The investigative information made available indicates that this was a self-

inflicted gunshot wound. With the information surrounding the circumstances of the death that is presently available the manner of death is determined to be suicide. The medical examiners revealed that they were basing their determination of suicide on investigative information made available indicat[ing] that this was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, not from medical evidence. They did not address what caliber of bullet entered her body in fact, they stated that no bullet or bullet fragment was recovered, and they did not offer comments on what caliber of bullet would have made the entry and exit wounds. The Aug. 25, 2005, report from the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory in Forest Park, Ga., stated: The characteristic gunshot residue particle indicated on Exhibit 5 (Gunshot residue kit (Item 9, Doc 775-05), the number is considered insignificant. Based on these results, the report concludes that the following possibilities exist, but the report makes no conclusion: a. The subject did not handle/discharge a firearm. b. The subject handled/discharged a firearm but an insignificant number of gunshot residue particles were deposited on the hands. c. The subject handled/discharged a firearm that deposited a significant number of gunshot residue particles on the hand; however, due to washing, wiping, or other activity, the particles were reduced to insignificant numbers.

b. The medical examiners who did the autopsy on Johnsons body did not mention any burns on her body, but when the family had gloves that had been glued onto her hands cut off by the funeral home employees in Missouri, they found her hands had been burned, and further examination showed her back was burned. A witness statement taken on July 19, 2005, states: The witness [name redacted] found the victim under the bench and verified there were no signs of life related he saw the M16 lying across the victims body he didnt know what setting the weapon was on he related everything was smoking, including parts of the body. He called for an ambulance and secured the scene. On April 9, 2008, Johnsons parents flew from their home in St. Louis for meetings with members of Congress and their staff. They again went to Washington, D.C., in July 2008 and were briefed by Army investigators and the military medical examiner who conducted the autopsy on Lavena. The Army briefers maintained that her death was a suicide and were unable to answer Dr. John and Linda Johnsons long list of questions. The Johnsons are asking for a congressional hearing that would force the Army to further investigate their daughters death. Murder of Three Women in North Carolina Some of the circumstances surrounding Lavena Johnsons death in Iraq three years ago are similar to those of other American servicewomen who died in recent months. In the

six months from December 2007 to July 2008, three U.S. military women were killed by military males near the Armys Fort Bragg and the Marine Corps Camp Lejeune, two mega-bases in North Carolina. Two of the women were in the Army. Spc. Megan Touma was seven months pregnant when her body was found inside a Fayetteville hotel room June 21, 2008. A married male soldier whom she knew in Germany has since been arrested. The estranged Marine husband of Army 2nd Lt. Holley Wimunc has been arrested in her death and the burning of her body. Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach had been raped in May 2007 and protective orders had been issued against the alleged perpetrator, fellow Marine Cpl. Cesar Laurean. The burned body of Lauterbach and her unborn baby were found in a shallow grave in the backyard of Laureans home in January 2008. Laurean fled to Mexico, where he was captured by Mexican authorities. He is currently awaiting extradition to the United States to stand trial. Lauterbachs mother testified before Congress on July 31, 2008, that the Marine Corps ignored warning signs that Laurean was a danger to her daughter (testimony of Mary Lauterbach to the National Security and Foreign Affairs Subcommittee of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee). Two Women Sexually Assaulted Before Their Deaths

Remarkably, a rape test was not performed on the body of Lavena Johnson although bruising and lacerations in her genital area indicated assault. Another family that does not believe their daughter committed suicide in Iraq is the family of Pfc. Tina Priest, 20, of Smithville, Texas, who was reported raped by a fellow soldier in February of 2006 on a military base known as Camp Taji. Priest was a part of the 5th Support Battalion, lst Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division from Fort Hood, Texas. The Army said Priest was found dead in her room on March 1, 2006, of a self-inflicted M16 shot, 11 days after the rape. Priests mother, Joy Priest, disputes the Armys findings. Mrs. Priest said she talked several times with her daughter after the rape and that Tina, while very upset about the rape, was not suicidal. Mrs. Priest continues to challenge the Armys 800 pages of investigative documents with a simple question: How could her five-foot-tall daughter, with a correspondingly short arm length, have held the M16 at the angle which would have resulted in the gunshot? The Army attempted several explanations, but each was debunked by Mrs. Priest and by the 800 pages of materials provided by the Army itself. The Army now says Tina used her toe to pull the trigger of the weapon that killed her. The Army reportedly never investigated Tinas death as a homicide, only as a suicide. According to Tinas mother, rape charges against the soldier whose sperm was found on Tinas sleeping bag

were dropped a few weeks after her death. He was convicted of failure to obey an order and sentenced to forfeiture of $714 for two months, 30 days restriction to the base and 45 days of extra duty. On May 11, 2006, 10 days after Tina Priest was found dead, 19-year-old Army Pfc. Amy Duerksen was found dead at the same Camp Taji. Duerksen died three days after she suffered what the Army called a self-inflicted gunshot. The Army claimed that she, too, had committed suicide. In the room where her body was found, investigators reportedly discovered her diary open to a page on which she had written about being raped during training after unknowingly ingesting a date-rape drug. The person Duerkson identified in her diary as the rapist was charged by the Army with rape after her death. Many who knew her did not believe she shot herself, but there is no evidence of a homicide investigation by the Army. Women Had Concerns About Job Irregularities Three women whose deaths have been classified as suicides had expressed concerns about improprieties or irregularities in their military commands. Army Spc. Ciara Durkin, 30, a Massachusetts National Guard payroll clerk, was found dead on Sept. 28, 2007, from a gunshot wound to the head. She had gotten off work 90 minutes earlier and was found lying near a chapel on Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. Durkin had called her brother just hours before she died, leaving an upbeat happy

birthday message on his telephone. In previous conversations, Durkin told her sister that she had discovered something in the finance unit that she did not agree with and that she had made some enemies over it. She told her sister to keep investigating her death if anything happened to her. In June 2008, the Army declared her death a suicide. Army interrogator Spc. Alyssa Renee Peterson, 27, assigned to C Company, 311th Military Intelligence Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky., was an Arabic linguist who reportedly was very concerned about the manner in which interrogations of detained Iraqis were being conducted. She died on Sept. 15, 2003, near Tal Afar, Iraq, in what the Army described as a gunshot wound to the head, a noncombat, self-inflicted weapons discharge, or suicide. Peterson had reportedly objected to the interrogation techniques used on prisoners in Iraq and refused to participate after only two nights working in the unit known as the cage. Members of her unit have refused to describe the specific interrogation techniques to which Peterson objected. The military says that all records of those techniques have now been destroyed. After refusing to conduct more interrogations, Peterson was assigned to guard the base gate, where she monitored Iraqi guards. She was also sent to suicide prevention training. Army investigators concluded she shot and killed herself with her service rifle on the night of Sept. 15, 2003. Family members challenge the Armys conclusion.

Gloria Davis, 47, an 18-year Army veteran, mother and grandmother, was found dead of a gunshot wound on Dec. 12, 2006, the day after she reportedly talked at length to an Army investigator about corruption in military contracting. She had been accused of accepting a $225,000 bribe from Lee Dynamics, a defense contractor that provided warehouse space for the storage of automatic weapons in Iraq (Eric Schmitt and James Glanz, U.S. Says Company Bribes Officers for Work in Iraq, New York Times, Aug. 31, 2007). Davis mother, Annie Washington, told the author that military investigators have never located any of the $225,000 Davis is alleged to have taken. Washington said her daughter was right-handed and would have had a hard time holding the weapon in her left hand and shooting herself on the left side of her head (telephone conversation between Ann Wright and Annie Washington, July 2008). Federal court documents show that the Army suspended Lee Dynamics from contracting on July 9, 2007, over allegations that the company paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to numerous U.S. officers in Iraq and Kuwait in 2004 and 2005 to get contracts to build, operate and maintain warehouses in Iraq where weapons, uniforms and vehicles for the Iraqi military were stored. Reportedly included in the documents was a seven-page statement by an Army investigator who questioned Maj. Davis the day before she was found dead in her quarters. The deposition has apparently been used in ongoing federal

cases on corruption in military contracting. The author attempted to obtain a copy of Davis statement from the Department of Justice, but a DoJ public affairs officer said the statement is not yet in the public domain and intimated that it is being used in other ongoing DoJ investigations into contracting fraud (telephone conversation on July 28, 2008, with DoJ public affairs officer). The Lee Dynamics warehouses were part of a circle of corruption involving military personnel and contractors throughout Iraq and the disappearance of 190,000 U.S.supplied weapons 110,000 AK-47 assault rifles and 80,000 pistols intended for Iraqi security forces for which the U.S. military cannot account. A July 2007 Government Accountability Office report said that until December 2005 the U.S.-Iraqi training command had no centralized records on weapons provided to Iraqi forces, and although 185,000 AK-47 rifles, 170,000 pistols, 215,000 sets of body armor and 140,000 steel helmets had been issued by September 2005, because of poor record keeping it was unclear what happened to 110,000 AK-47s and 80,000 pistols and more than half the armor and helmets. In December 2007, the U.S. military acknowledged that it had lost track of an additional 12,000 weapons, including more than 800 machine guns. In 2005, Col. Ted Westhusing, 44, at the time the highestranking officer to die in Iraq, allegedly committed suicide after reportedly becoming despondent about the poor performance of private contractors who were training Iraqi police, for which he was responsible. After graduating third

in his West Point class and serving as the honor captain for the entire academy his senior year, Westhusing became one of the Armys leading scholars on military ethics and was a professor at West Point. In January 2005 Westhusing began supervising the training of Iraqi forces to take over security duties from the U.S. military. He oversaw the Virginia-based USIS, a private security contractor, which had contracts worth $79 million to train a corps of Iraqi police to conduct special-operations missions. Westhusing was upset about allegations, in a four-page anonymous letter, that USIS deliberately shorted the Iraqi government on the number of trainers it provided in order to increase its profit margin. The letter also revealed two incidents in which USIS contractors allegedly had witnessed or participated in the killing of Iraqi civilians. After an angry counseling meeting with the contractor, Westhusing was found dead of a gunshot wound. Many of Westhusings professional colleagues question the Armys ruling of suicide, despite the note found in his quarters. They point out that Westhusing did not have a bodyguard and was surrounded by the same contractors he suspected of wrongdoing. They also question why the USIS company manager who discovered Westhusings body was not tested for gunpowder residue. In the space of three months in 2006, three members of the U.S. Army who had been part of a contracting and logistics group in Kuwait and Iraq were accused of taking bribes from contractors and allegedly committed suicide. Two of them were women, Maj. Gloria Davis and Sgt. Denise

Lannaman, and the third was Lt. Col. Marshall Gutierrez. In August 2006 Gutierrez was arrested at a restaurant in Kuwait and was accused of shaking down a laundry contractor for a $3,400 bribe. He was allowed to return to his quarters and was found dead on Sept. 4, 2006, with an empty bottle of prescription sleeping pills and an open container of what appeared to be antifreeze. The second woman soldier who was allegedly involved with bribes and allegedly committed suicide was New York Army National Guard Sgt. Denise A. Lannaman. Lannaman, 46, had completed one tour in Tikrit, Iraq, in 2005. In December 2005 she decided to volunteer to stay in Iraq longer and took an assignment at a desk job at a procurement office in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, that purchased millions of dollars in supplies. She received excellent performance ratings, and her supervisor said that her oversight eliminated misuse of funds by 36 percent. On Oct. 1, 2006, Lannaman was questioned by a senior officer about the death of Lt. Col. Gutierrez and was reportedly told by that officer that she was implicated in the contracting fraud and would be leaving the military in disgrace. She was found in a jeep dead of a gunshot later that day. The Army has classified Lannamans death as a suicide. A member of her family said that Lannaman had a history of psychiatric problems but somehow been allowed to enlist in the military. She had attempted suicide four times in her life, according to the family member. In September 2007, Army spokesman Lt. Col. William Wiggins told the family

that Lannaman had not been the subject of any contract investigations, but he said he could not say whether Lannaman had been threatened by a superior officer with dismissal from the service (Jim Dwyer, Letter from America: Journey from New York to Kuwait, and Suicide, New York Times, Sept. 19, 2007). Lannamans family said that because of her pre-existing mental state, the threat that the superior officer made to send her home in disgrace could have caused her to take her life. Soldiers Convicted of Bribery In June 2008 four persons plead guilty in bribery and kickback scandals concerning military contracts in Iraq. On June 11, 2008, recently retired Army National Guard Col. Levonda Joey Selph, a key person on Gen. David Petraeus team that was training and equipping Iraqi security forces in 2004 and 2005, pleaded guilty to bribery and conspiracy. She admitted disclosing to the owner of Lee Dynamics International confidential bidding information about a $12million contract for building and operating U.S. military warehouses in Iraq that stored automatic weapons and other equipment. Lee Dynamics International is the same company that reportedly gave Maj. Davis a $225,000 bribe. Col. Selph helped the company owner, a former Army pay clerk, to submit fake bid packages on behalf of six companies he controlled to create a false sense of competition, for which she was given a trailer valued at $20,000; she eventually returned the trailer, and the contractor then gave her $4,000 in cash and paid for air fare and accommodations for a trip to Thailand in October

2005, valued at about $5,000. Selph has since agreed to pay the U.S. government $9,000 and could serve a prison sentence of up to two years (Eric Schmitt, Guilty Plea Given in Iraq Contract Fraud, New York Times, June 11, 2008). After having been in military custody since July 2007, Army Maj. John Cockerham, 43, pleaded guilty last January to bribery, conspiracy and money laundering in awarding illegal contracts for supplies such as bottled water. He had received more than $9 million in bribes from at least eight defense contractor companies, and records found in his home indicated he expected to get $5.4 million more. Melissa Cockerham, Cockerhams wife, also pleaded guilty to money laundering. Their plea bargains were kept under federal court seal until June 25, 2008, while they cooperated with investigators. Cockerham faces up to 40 years in prison, while his wife could face up to 20 years in prison (Dana Hedgpeth, 2 Plead Guilty to Army Bribery Scheme, Washington Post, June 25, 2008). The Death of Spc. Keisha Morgan Army Spc. Keisha Morgan, 25, was on her second tour in Iraq. Just days before her February 22, 2008, death, she called her mother, Diana Morgan, and happily told her that she had reenlisted. Her mother said that Keisha wanted to be a nurse and planned to fulfill that ambition after she got out of the Army. Assigned to the Fourth Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, Keisha reportedly suffered two seizures in her barracks at Camp Taji and died in a military hospital

in Bagdad. The Army reportedly told Keishas mother that Keisha was on antidepressants and may have overdosed. In a blog, Keishas mother said her daughter had never mentioned being on antidepressants. However, the Army reportedly frequently prescribes antidepressants to soldiers with anxiety from effects of war, and one of the known side effects of some of the depressants is seizures. The Armys fifth Mental Health Advisory Team report indicates that, according to an anonymous survey of U.S. troops taken in the fall of 2007, about 12 percent of combat troops in Iraq and 17 percent of those in Afghanistan are taking prescription antidepressants (such as Prozac and Zoloft) or sleeping pills (such as Ambien) to help them cope, with about 50 percent taking antidepressants and 50 percent taking prescription sleeping pills. In 2007, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration expanded the warning on antidepressants that the drugs may increase the risk of suicide in children and young adults ages 18 to 24, the age group most taking prescribed drugs in the Army. The Army should question whether there is a link between the increased use of the drugs by military troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and the rising suicide rate, which is now double the Armys suicide rate in 2001. Deception or Just Incompetence? Its now well known that there was deception by the U.S. military in the friendly fire death of Pat Tillman and the decision to make a heroic character out of Pvt. Jessica

Lynch. But there are many other cases of deception and of misinformation given to families. After much pressure from the families for more information on the deaths of their sons in 2004, the parents of Army Spc. Patrick McCaffery and 1st Lt. Andre Tyson were finally told by the Army two years after the death of their sons that they were not killed by insurgents but by Iraqi army recruits with whom they were training and patrolling. The parents of Spc. Jesse Buryj were initially told their son died in an accident. After relentless pressure on the Army for a copy of the autopsy, his mother read that Buryj had died of a gunshot wound. She had to request through the Freedom of Information Act a copy of the incident report, which states he was killed by friendly fire from coalition Polish troops. And later a soldier from Buryjs unit came to her home and told her he had been killed by one of our own troops. Karen Meredith had to request the report on the May 30, 2004, death of her son, 1st Lt. Ken Ballard, through the Freedom of Information Act. Ballard did not die in a firefight with insurgents as she was originally told. He actually died in an accident when a branch fell on a tank in which he was riding and set off an unmanned gun. On Sept. 9, 2005, Meredith met with an Army colonel in the Pentagon and received a letter of apology from the Army for its misinformation on her sons death. On Sept. 27, 2005, she met with Secretary of the Army Francis

Harvey and asked him to promise that soldiers families would promptly be told the truth about casualties. As the Beaumont, Texas, newspaper the Enterprise stated in its June 20, 2008, editorial, There is no excuse for the U.S. Armys shabby treatment of Kamisha Blocks parents and others who cared for her. Her commanders knew right away that she had been killed by a fellow soldier in Iraq, who had been harassing her. It was a standard murdersuicide. Incredibly, the Army first told her parents that it was an accidental death due to friendly fire. A few days later, the Army changed its story and told the parents of Spc. Block that their daughter had been murdered by a shot to the chest. At the funeral home in Vidor, Texas, Blocks mother noticed her daughter had a wound to her head, not mentioned by the Army. Six months later, after numerous phone calls to the Army and enlisting help from Congressman Kevin Brady, Blocks family was told by the Army that she had been murdered by a fellow soldier in her unit, a man who had physically assaulted her three times. His unit had disciplined him once but kept him in the same unit where he assaulted Block two other times before he murdered her by firing five shots into her and then killing himself in the same barracks room. After many attempts, the parents finally received a 1,200page investigation that gave the name of the murderer [end]

Body of Lies (a book review) Id been perusing titles at Books in Berlin (an English language bookstore) somewhat absent-mindedly, but noticing quite a few titles dedicated to international intrigue. I suppose that should come as no surprise, there are many CIA and other English fluent spooks in town, as well they must have quite a few local acquaintances and it is reasonable to assume theyd be interested in shop-craft reading. I had no particular interest in the fiction side of the game, it is difficult enough to sort through the propaganda and disinformation rife in non-fiction titles, but then a book I happened to glance inside the front cover caught my eye. Body of Lies is fiction but reads like fact. CIA officers admire [author David] Ignatius because more than any other writer he understands the nuances of their trade fascinating George Tenant, former CIA director. Well then, why not was my thought and I purchased the used paperback Body of Lies. If George Tenant was accurate in his assessment of the book, and there is no reason to expect otherwise, hed have done the agency a favor to have kept his mouth shut. But first, the author. It has been a very long time since quality fiction has been appreciated, and David Ignatius

adds to the thought. Though not as cheesy as, say, The Da Vinci Code [my other read of contemporary fiction in recent years and a profound disappointment] the quality is far short of classic American literature. It is not so much a phenomena of dearth of quality writers in modern American literature, so much as it seems there is a dearth of readers who can appreciate quality, which sadly is no longer seen in best selling works, we have not seen a Washington Irving in quite some time. David Ignatius is no Washington Irving and Body of Lies is no Astoria .. but is better than Dan Browns cheese that passes for literature. If Body of Lies accurately depicts CIA covert operatives and actions, as Tenant claims, I should recommend the book as a lesson in why CIA is about as useful to my nation as the folk proverb tits on a boar. Other than revealing his taste for crass literary shallowness, Tenant also should have kept his mouth shut because he has authenticated/endorsed: 1) Cowboy culture and mentality. Throughout, there is a hackneyed and simplistic theme of if we kill first, they wont kill us coupled with the idea what the politicians dont know (breaking laws, committing murders), wont hurt them (or us) leading to: 2) CIA operations officers who are culturally so selfcentered, narcissistic and vain, there is no qualm felt whatsoever at sending repentant jihadists, even innocents into intrigues, as pawns in circumstance that often gets them killed, to further any objective, no matter how minimal or trivial the gain, attended by the

thinking 2 wrongs or 10 wrongs or 100 wrongs can add up to make something right for the American people [by a virtually lawless CIA] One gets a sense the author/book deliberately cheats certain social realities to promote a fantasy ideology, and one gets this is how a body of lies so to speak, is fed to the agents who worship this author. The simplistic protagonist is a CIA officer with a conscience who falls for the books heroine who does charity work in refugee camps, with plot set in the radicalized Islamic world of the war on terror. She works on his head with a principled demand he cannot be CIA and have a future with her because someone has to be the good American face with a demonstrable commitment to social justice for the Palestinians. But this aspect of the plot altogether fails to convince because the author hammers on a theme of they all want to kill us [Americans] without any delving AT ALL into the WHY. There is zero honest history presented [zero history in fact, as though it were too embarrassing to present to the reader] of the long time habit of the CIA and other western intelligence agencies manipulation/exploitation of the Islamic world on behalf of western economic models (corporate boards) with deceits, corruption and violence. In this novel, Murder Inc (CIA) happily runs amok murdering with patriotic spin while going after Murder Inc Jr (Al Qaida) with no end in sight and no honest attending story line of how we had arrived in this circumstance.

Our CIA operational officer protagonist dutifully follows orders he knows will get people killed without cause, rhyme or reason, repeatedly, and demonstrates little conscience in this regard, if only it might lead to one more tip and in fact it is obvious he [or the author] only is capable of caring when it comes to the woman he thinks he wants to fuck for the rest of his life, a portrait in actuality of a sociopath (at odds with any suggestion the man has real feelings.) Her character is developed almost entirely on chauvinist habit of perception, what a great lay she is, and no aspect of her caring in the purported social cause is developed, bringing across the idea the author (and his fans) are in fact incapable of any depth in this regard. The sympathy for Islam set in the book is mainly based in admiration for duplicity, and underlines the idea Islamic culture is based on a principle of dissembling, and there is no ordinary Muslim character developed in any sense of a sympathetic human understanding (other than admired as a fellow killer in the trade.) In fact the books happily ever after ending strongly sends the message there is none, and cannot be, any American with Muslim heritage accepted as a patriot or trusted to work honestly for CIA. Body of Lies would be excellent reading for the ideologically driven intelligence agent who wished to keep his or her head in the sand and promote killing without conscience while maintaining the self-deceit a worthwhile action and patriotic goal is pursuit of western economic domination (modern corporate board colonialism.)

The CIA and Narcotics Trafficking In 1970, serving in Vietnam, I had transferred from the 199th Light Infantry Brigade based at Long Binh for extended tour of duty with the 330th Transportation Company located at Vung Tau. The US Army Airfield at Vung Tau was an advanced aircraft maintenance location, primarily, with a runway that could handle freight aircraft up the C-130. By far, however, it was mainly a service center for Helicopters needing advanced repairs, engine overhauls, rotor replacements, et cetera. Among other tasks, I worked airfield perimeter and flight line security. We had fully armed Cobra gunships for airfield protection that needed secured from possible sapper attack, particularly, as well as the more typical security needs. The period was from October of 1970 to November of 1971. As an E-5, I had responsibility for men on the perimeter at times, at other times on the flight line. Perimeter duty in my sector was parallel to the landing and take off (main) runway. This was Vietnam approaching late stage conflict. Heroin addiction was estimated by myself and other noncommissioned officers to be about 30% of the US Forces enlisted men on this airfield. Our own company and it's platoons were about this average level of addicts as was our understanding this being the similar case of the other Army units located there. Again and again, over this 13 month period, heroin ran out. It could not be missed when nearly a third our soldiers, a few hundreds of men, went into physical and mental

symptom of withdrawal. It was not pretty. This was not the weak, comparatively speaking, heroin someone would needle. It was STRONG. It was smoked or 'snorted' up the nose. Intravenous use of this drug would have been almost instantly fatal. Tremendous quantity of the drug was consumed by these horrifically addicted men Vung Tau could not be easily supplied with heroin on demand, without some serious interruptions, in the large quantities required to maintain the habits of hundreds of badly addicted soldiers by Viet Cong or North Vietnamese agents. The location was separated from the mainland by bracken marsh, accessed by a single causeway secured in multiple sectors with tightly controlled traffic having to pass American and Australian security checks. By sea would have been more likely, but here it is also problematic for the un-interrupted enemy supply of our soldiers with drugs. Vung Tau was highly secured by sea with armed patrol boats because of the high military value of its mission. It is a small area of land with essentially little coastline to secure. Security was tight. Interdiction would have been a near certainty, at least once in a while. It didn't happen. The Viet Cong or North Vietnamese agents of course did not have air access to us. The CIA did. It was nowhere near rocket science to note the (CIA airline) Air America flight that parked 1/4 mile away from every other aircraft, never came in to parking area. 3 people, armed, stayed with the aircraft, command staff car picked

up 2 others. Luggage (nearly modern steamer trunks) for at least 10 (TEN) people was picked up by a 3/4 ton truck, with 2 persons riding with the baggage, 1 left guarding the aircraft. All airfield personnel were strictly instructed NEVER to approach the Air America flights. They never stayed more than several hours. Bingo, heroin flush by that evening. Again and again. Every time the soldier's suppliers had run out of heroin, there was an Air America flight landed. Problem solved, the addicted soldiers were functional again. After Vietnam I served with 19th Special Forces Group as an (11F40) Sergeant in Operations and Intelligence, working together with some of the best in the field, a position that eventually pointed to my later career as an Investigator in the field of Human Rights. I continued to follow the CIA in the available sources and have made some assessments, drawn some conclusions. The covert, operational or 'black ops' sector itself of the CIA has been the source of major narco-trafficking or, there has been a highly organized rogue element within this sector where oversight is problematic. These people are in major international drug trafficking and their worldwide tracks are beginning to emerge over time, ever more circumstantially. It had been established by the 1970s and reported on in media that the CIA had bought the loyalties of tribes in the so called 'Golden Triangle' opium producing region with

cash for their crop, the most likely or closest proximity, raw base or source of the heroin in Vietnam. War zones with covert logistics for intelligence services are perfect opportunities to commercially process on large scale with no effective police oversight. After Vietnam, and the loss of direct military backing in force for our covert agency and no longer in control of the necessary areas in the region, heroin waned and cocaine became big. One only has to look at the tracks of the graduates of the School of the Americas, and connect the dots. This is the CIA associated initial source of the leadership training that has today's Mexican Federal Police sometimes overwhelmed in pitched battles with drug lord militiamen that are now days professional commandos. Move south from there and you had Noriega, in Panama, same source of training and a CIA asset, became a major international narco-trafficker. South farther again and you have Uribe associated with right wing militias and associated death squads, CIA, School of the Americas training, all in the mix of Columbia, and drug trade and coca production is up there, eradication a farce. So FARC is involved too. Why wouldn't they be? It is a lucrative business. Now the clincher. More than 90% of this years Heroin supplied to the world (90% TO THE WORLD) will come from poppies grown in Afghanistan. This is not just the Taliban folks, it is the CIA. The southwest of Afghanistan is the poppy region where the USA had taken a bit of a 'hands off' attitude and done little to nothing to address the

problem. In fact it was noted by one of our Senators in oversight hearings this is an opening we could have had towards constructive discussions with Iran: Our common interest in eradicating this crop. Subsequent to this oversight hearing, a drug interdiction program has been initiated against ONLY THOSE OPUIM FARMERS WHO DO BUSINESS WITH THE TALIBAN. Cleaning up the problem or cornering the market? It would very much seem this program is window dressing the problem while in actuality cornering the market. U.S. Army General John Craddock issued an International Law violating policy or NATO directive allowing for the murder of anyone suspected of dealing in narcotics to benefit the Taliban stating it was no longer necessary to produce intelligence or other evidence to shoot people they identify (or obviously merely suspect, without the necessary intelligence or evidence) as Taliban affiliated narco-traffickers. The letter with the policy directive was leaked and not surprisingly in a military culture, there appeared to be more vocal concern expressed over the leak than the proposed human rights violations. However, to NATOs credit, Craddocks leaked directive appears to have been modified. The article [IHT, 12 February 2009] reiterated this only applies to those Afghans who do business with the Taliban Criminals do not voluntarily surrender their business models. Cleaning up the problem is not going to happen until the CIA covert operations is brought under control.

The CIA, or a rogue element within the organization has been, personally enriching themselves for decades as international narco-traffickers, my assessment. All the while using our nation's 'Security' together with all of the power of the apparatus the term implies, to cover a rogue and criminal club within our ranks. And so, another example of how it is the pursuit of violence through wars corrupts and/or attracts corrupt people. C'est la vie. These following stories from the AP WIRE [2 years ago] point to, amoung other things, CIA having wiretapped DEA to prevent DEA stumbling on CIA international narcotrafficking and continued efforts by our Justice Department to cover-up crime with the state secrets doctrine: Sep 11th, 2009 | WASHINGTON -- A federal judge says the CIA is hiding behind dubious national security arguments to shield itself from a potentially embarrassing lawsuit U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth, who earlier ruled that CIA officials committed fraud to protect a former covert agent accused in the suit, has rejected an emergency request to put the case on hold while the government appeals. The CIA has argued that allowing the case to proceed would divulge classified information, but, in an opinion made public on Friday, Lamberth said there was no good reason to delay. In the suit, a former Drug Enforcement Administration agent claims the CIA illegally wiretapped his home when

stationed in Rangoon, Burma in 1993. The agent, Richard Horn, said he became suspicious when he returned from a trip to find his government-issued rectangular coffee table had been replaced with a round one. The case has been a test of the Obama administration's use of the so-called state secrets privilege, when the government seeks to block legal action by saying the details that would be revealed would harm national security. Administration officials have pledged to review all state secrets claims made by the previous Bush administration, but in many cases the government is still asserting the need to prevent disclosures that it says would harm national security. In the DEA case, Lamberth has previously rejected the state secrets claim. Government lawyers are attempting to reassert the privilege but on different grounds, but the judge isn't buying it. "Having lost on their assertion of the state secrets privilege, the government's new refrain is heads you lose, tails we win," the judge wrote. The court case is rooted in an old squabble between the DEA and CIA operating overseas. Horn claims Arthur Brown, the former CIA station chief in Burma, and Franklin Huddle Jr., the chief of mission at the

U.S. Embassy in Burma, were trying to get him relocated because they disagreed with his work with Burmese officials on the country's drug trade. The CIA has not said in court filings whether or not it monitored Horn, but Horn claims he was monitored without lawful authority and in violation of his constitutional protection against unreasonable searches and seizures. The CIA buys off the DEA 10 Nov 09WASHINGTON The government has agreed to pay $3 million to a former agent of the Drug Enforcement Administration who sued CIA officers for illegal eavesdropping The proposed settlement followed a ruling by U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth in July that CIA officials committed fraud to protect a former covert agent against the eavesdropping allegations. The lawsuit was brought by former DEA agent Richard Horn, who says his home in Rangoon, Burma, was illegally wiretapped by the CIA in 1993. He says Arthur Brown, the former CIA station chief in Burma, and Franklin Huddle Jr., the chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Burma, were trying to get him transferred because they disagreed

with his work with Burmese officials on the country's drug trade. Horn sued Brown and Huddle in 1994, seeking monetary damages for violating his civil rights. The CIA itself was a defendant in the lawsuit until early this year..... Then-CIA Director George Tenet filed an affidavit asking that the case against Brown be dismissed because he was a covert agent whose identity was a state secret that must not be revealed in open court. Lamberth granted the CIA's request and threw out the case against Brown in 2004. Lamberth found out last year that Brown's cover had been lifted in 2002, even though the CIA continued to file legal documents saying his status was covert. The judge found that the CIA intentionally misled the court and he reinstated the case against Brown. The agreement in the case was revealed in court papers filed Tuesday night, and Lamberth will now consider whether to dismiss the suit. Under the proposed settlement, the government makes no admission as to whether the allegations in the lawsuit are true And: WASHINGTON Ahmed Wali Karzai, the brother of the president of Afghanistan, gets regular payments from the CIA and has for much of the past eight years, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

The newspaper said that according to current and former American officials, the CIA pays Karzai for a variety of services, including helping to recruit an Afghan paramilitary force that operates at the CIA's direction in and around Kandahar. Ahmed Wali Karzai told the Times that he cooperates with American civilian and military officials but does not engage in the drug trade and does not receive payments from the CIA. Karzai also is paid for allowing the CIA and American Special Operations troops to rent a large compound outside the city, which also is the base of the Kandahar Strike Force, the Times said. WikiLeaks and Spy Agencies In espionage, there are three basic means of penetrating and/or using a hostile organization to ones advantage: 1) Turning an employee through some means such as blackmail, sex, bribery or appeal to a psychological weakness such as working on someones conscience or ideology and convince them to become your organizations asset (agent/traitor) 2) Placing your own officer within the organization as an employee (spy) 3) Using psychology and disinformation to convince the organization's staff to work to your advantage and/or commit acts against its own interests (sale) Typically there would be each of these approaches assessed individually and in various combinations and/or variants when planning an operation. WikiLeaks would be vulnerable to this on several counts. WikiLeaks ties to the Chaos Computer Club, an organization that has been the focus of multiple intelligence agency penetration for decades, national intelligence agencies, and particularly the closely related corporate intelligence agencies (staffed largely by national agency veterans.)

Case in point, when the Green Party in Germany had recently come into a position of possible governance, the Chaos Computer Club related Pirate Party had suddenly left the wings of the political stage to field candidates and siphoned away Greens support. The Pirates have shown no interest in subsequent overtures by the Greens and the result has been the entrenched political interests continue in power with the majority corporate favored personalities and policies remaining intact. This is a classic symptom of an organization [Chaos Computer Club/Pirate Party] manipulated by intelligence to act against its own purported interests and public interest. When Chaos Computer Club member and former close Assange/WikiLeaks associate Daniel Domsheit-Berg left WikiLeaks, he claimed he took the key to WikiLeaks online submission platform with him. Since, the platform remains shut down. During this extended period, the risks to anyone submitting information to WikiLeaks are vastly increased for reasons of exposure to conventional forensics (DNA, finger prints, postmarks, surveillance cameras et cetera.) If you have to mail the information to a stationary P.O. Box per Assanges suggestion [interview with the Independent], every postal service in the world is likely to red flag every piece of mail to that address for their respective intelligence agencies and/or law enforcement, depending on government structure. ALL of these submissions are at risk of being tracked back to the source of the leak, particularly to anyone whod leaked without espionage training and it is unlikely many

well-intended whistle-blowers providing information to WikiLeaks would have that kind of training. Much of what had been sent must have been intercepted. On the other hand, information actually passed through is as likely as not, to be planted by spy services and here is why: If a foreign intelligence agency wished to discredit a government such as the USA or elements within the USA and did not wish to be credited with the embarrassing disclosures it had developed, WikiLeaks is a perfect platform to launder any such information through. This pertains to Assanges incredibly nave position he does not care where or from who the documents came, so long as the documents are authentic. This opens the door wide to construct a false or misleading picture by selective provision of information wherein a documents collection can be created as to be deliberately misleading or slanted. And insofar as information provided to WikiLeaks that may have been out and out falsified, intelligence agencies are the best in the world when it comes this phenomena. A closely related risk is competing factions within a government using WikiLeaks to undermine each other with selective leaking. This easily could be the case with Bradley Manning having been profiled as vulnerable and set up to leak with a selective documents collection as bait. This could explain the Obama administration obsession with prosecuting leaks, to advert this possibility as much as possible, a pre-emptive shut down of the people who might

be tempted and consequently manipulated or used as mules particularly, in a political sense actually more damaging than persons providing information via straightforward leaks. Put the fear of god into them and let Manning be the example. Additionally, any people whod actually dupe a Manning-like personality into laundering leaks for them, could care less about that persons fate and would holler as loudly as any, for a Manning personalitys prosecution. He/she would catch hell coming and going, from both sides. In case of creating custom tailored documents collection, whether [my hypothetical proposed examples follow but in reality this is technique studied at the intelligence agencies everyday] by a foreign entitys spy service or in a domestic competition, any case is closely studied in a sense of tradeoffs. To be convincing, there must be an appearance of credibility and that requires sometimes shooting your own toe off, so to speak, to put a bullet in the brain of your adversary. In other words, you must sometimes include some information pointing a bit of fault at the vested party to keep the bloodhounds at bay. If you were to have a circumstance of a neo-con aligned CIA Operations Division [the USA most certainly does] that were the enemy of the Obama people, Panetta as Director of Central Intelligence would have been a mere fig leaf in many respects, there is no Democratic White House will control the CIA Operations Division, its simply not reality. The Operations Division has historically been a George H.W. Bush (run by Cuban exiles) fan club. Throw

some recent past Republican dirt that will essentially change nothing, into embarrassing disclosures that mainly damages the incumbent administration and hand it off to WikiLeaks [laundered through a dupe that leaks for you] and viola! The neo-cons have better chance at a Mitt come next term because the honest voter will be turned off to the Democrats dirt (both sides are in fact filthy, it is oftentimes extent of exposure will determine outcome in the game of politics.) Another possible scenario would be MOSSAD acting to strengthen American neo-cons with pro-Israel platform. And because the general public (and one presumes WikiLeaks) do not typically possess a professional counterespionage program, and indeed the spy versus spy game is pretty well portrayed in a simplistic way by MAD Magazine, what you will never see is a Hillary point a finger at a Robert Gates, example given, her only recourse is to plot retaliation but she is out of her class. In regards to the cables leaks, there is circumstantial evidence pointing to a domestic/internal political competition. The most glaring point here is, the CIA coming off unscathed despite the CIA and State Department are in effect [and in fact] Siamese twins. It defies human nature to expect people believing they were using a secure system would not have compromised at least some ongoing operation, at some noticeable level. Reinforcing the preceding thought is the Iraq Field Reports. The error of omission in this case was glaring to this [yours

truly] former non-commissioned officer for special operations intelligence. Field Reports would be prepared by persons in my [former] position, typically for a military units executive officer signature. In the present American military era, sources have developed statistic of staggering incidence of raped [by their colleagues] American women soldiers. For instance in 2010 alone, in the Department of Defense [conservative] estimate, there were 19,000 sexual assaults in the U.S. military, a 2% decrease over 2009. The rapes were not magically vanished from the year Iraq invasion commenced to the release of the Iraq Field Reports except that someone did not want them there. The rapes should have been noted by the reports in many cases whether or not charges were pursued. This sort of epidemic certainly should have leaped out if in fact the reports had been uncensored. Highly exploitable by the best psychology intelligence agencies money can buy, Julian Assanges narcissism is HUGE, for instance his claim he has a 'thermonuclear insurance file' with the most damaging revelations reserved for his personal safety, indicating a belief he is more valuable than the public he claims to serve. With his persecuted-savior complex, his inability to lead and his inability to keep a rigorous self-discipline, particularly relating to his womanizing, both the narcissism and the womanizing would be examined as plainly exploitable by spy services, whether to inflict damage on WikiLeaks, or to

usurp or co-opt agenda. The bottom line here is, were Assange given the benefit of the doubt as on the up and up, Assanges lack of self-discipline none the less wrecked his position if only because he is far too narcissistic to comprehend the risk of the circumstance hed created surrounding not only himself but everyone associated with WikiLeaks. The Assange back door extradition to to the USA via Sweden allegation smells bad, Britain has a practically no questions asked extradition treaty with the USA, presently employed to process and extradite British citizen Richard ODwyer to face 10 years in an American jail on spurious file sharing charges. How would the back door via Sweden allegation be explained in a context of the USA has not requested Assanges extradition from the British? Assange also passed up his appeal option to the European Court and his own Swedish lawyer has stated Assanges application for asylum makes him look like a suspect. If the Swedish rape allegations were per chance politically motivated, the fact remains it is solely because of Assanges lack of self-discipline and specifically his inability to keep his dick in his pants despite himself and his organization being high profile targets, WikiLeaks is now in the public purview as sheltering a rapist, whether real or imagined. Given how Assanges personality profiles, the chance these allegations are political persecution are only equal to the chance the allegations are valid. Whether in fact the rape

occurred or not, present reality is the WikiLeaks mission statement would be better served with Assange out of the picture. WikiLeaks has a LONG WAYS TO GO to insure even the most basic standard for protection from penetration, cooption and manipulation by the several competing interests involving spy agencies. That is, if WikiLeaks had not been a professional spy agency information operation from inception, which cannot be ruled out.

The FBI & FISA, My Story 50 United States Code Chapter 36, also known as the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, covers warrant-less wiretapping and searches. I have been subject to both, in the second case my house in New Mexico had been burglarized by government agents in July of 2004 while Id been out of state (in Montana.) How I am aware of this is not the subject of this essay, the focus will be on the much more difficult to solve wiretapping by out of control government, associated corruption, related murders and how one man [myself] plays in this breaking into the open. 50 USC CHAPTER 36 FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE SURVEILLANCE ACT Sub-Chapter I (b) "Agent of a foreign power" means (2) any person who (A) knowingly engages in clandestine intelligence gathering activities for or on behalf of a foreign power, which activities involve or may involve a violation of the criminal statutes of the United States; (B) pursuant to the direction of an intelligence service or network of a foreign power, knowingly engages in any other clandestine intelligence activities for or on behalf of such foreign power, which activities involve or are about to

involve a violation of the criminal statutes of the United States; (C) knowingly engages in sabotage or international terrorism, or activities that are in preparation therefor, for or on behalf of a foreign power; (D) knowingly enters the United States under a false or fraudulent identity for or on behalf of a foreign power or, while in the United States, knowingly assumes a false or fraudulent identity for or on behalf of a foreign power; or (E) knowingly aids or abets any person in the conduct of activities described in subparagraph (A), (B), or (C) or knowingly conspires with any person to engage in activities described in subparagraph (A), (B), or (C). Notice the use of the language any person in sub-section I (B) (2) pointing to the law may be employed in the case of United States citizens, as opposed to the act having been primarily represented as covering foreign nationals in the USA. In my case, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (hereafter the acronym FISA) appears to have been employed when Id been in contact with an artist from Morocco who painted portraits of, among other things, racing pigeons. At this time owning some of the best racing birds in the world and competitive in both China and Africa, not only the USA, it had crossed my mind Al Qaida could use racing pigeons for purposes of evading electronic

intercept in communications but I hardly suspected this would be the case. Long distance pigeon racing is not an Arab cultural phenomena, their sport was seeing if they could lure a neighbors bird into their coup for ransom. I decided to acquire a portrait based on one of the better photos of my birds. We struck a deal and I had been delivered a quite nice painting. However my assessment changed when, after the Morocco transaction had been concluded via correspondence, international money transfer et cetera, Id had a contact from Pakistan. A Pakistani businessman contacted me and wished to send his agent to my home to purchase young birds from my best and would pay cash, no questions asked. There was no mention of export details, international shipping, government health requirements or export permits. This smelled wrong. Nevertheless I initially went along by asking he provide details [Business address, phone contact info and so on] for my records. He promptly vanished and I arranged to notify both the CIA and FBI of my suspicions Al Qaida was looking to acquire world class racing pigeons for non-electronic communications purposes, resurrecting the extinct carrier pigeon method. As it happened, over this same general period of time I was in a tooth and nail fight with the East Mountain High School at Sandia Park, New Mexico, over their treatment of minority students. This charter school had been founded by the Albuquerque military/industrial rich and powerful to

avoid sending their good Christian children into what they viewed as the run down crime and drugs infested public schools. Run by a governing council primarily made up of Republican millionaires from the religious right, and supported by a whos who of the neo-con community including the Republican Sheriff and State Representative, this school had run over minority and unsuitable [read secular and/or non-Christian] students rights as though these kids were offal to be harassed and expelled without regards to merit, let alone civil rights law. I had commenced an investigation pro se, on behalf of my youngest son, and in the course of this had dug up a history of the school pointing to pattern abuse of minority and nonChristian students. I handed this information off to the schools governing council with a demand the circumstance be rectified. A liberal member of the schools governing council consequently conducted his own investigation and in the end emailed me a confirmation the schools backers were both racist and had run it like a personal fief in violation of law. Official harassment of my kid on completely unjustified counts had been pursued to force us out. He was deliberately flunked in some classes. He was forced to take classes on subjects in which he was already competent. He was harassed to extreme over absolutely unfounded drug allegations. When he was a minor player in a prank, we were the only ones requiring an administrative consultation [principal in attendance] parent/teacher conference, the

major players in the prank had none. This is the tip of the iceberg. The consequence of this has been quite amazing. It certainly did not help that Id made a personal enemy of Condoleezza Rice, a natural ally of, and certainly connected to these people via common acquaintances, when Id uncovered a criminal ring working the inside of government for CHEVRON counterfeiting Environmental Impact Statements ten years previous. And I never expected reporting what was clearly a major illicit narcotic transfer [drug drop by plane] would be in this play of events. But with my skill in open source intelligence analysis, Ive been able to piece together what appears to have happened. Following my exposing the criminal ring working the inside of government for CHEVRON, there were Herculean efforts to circumvent justice made by government itself. The case was the Blackfoot Indian Brave Dogs Society appeal of the Environmental Impact Statement issued out of the United States Forest Service office at Great Falls, Montana, approving CHEVRON drilling in the so-called Badger-Two Medicine area of the Lewis & Clark National Forest. My investigative report detailing the activities of this criminal ring, counterfeiting compliance to law, was incorporated into the appeal. This was the first inkling by people in government and industry of their ring exposed.

Separately provided to both the United States Department of Agriculture Inspector General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the investigative report prepared by myself had been buried by thoroughly corrupt government agencies without follow-up and prosecution of what amounted to numerous felonies. But there was still the major problem of the materials being provided to a Federal Judge in any subsequent litigation of the CHEVRON permit to drill. How this was handled was, Montana Senators Max Baucus and Conrad Burns worked out legislation to compensate CHEVRON for pulling out of the project by authorizing mineral rights swaps. The project was stopped but no one went to jail, CHEVRON saved face and their criminal ring working the inside of government remained intact. I resigned my position of investigator for the Mueller Law Office [Mark Mueller, Austin, TX] the Blackfoot Brave Dogs Society lawyer, on account of advancing Behet's disease. In July 2001, I moved my family from Montana to New Mexico. In September 2001, outside the western outskirts of Edgewood, New Mexico, I witnessed a low-flying, highperformance plane drop a large white bale into a small clearing. The bale had been picked up by a Chevy Suburban, which left the area at high speed. I arranged a call to the Santa Fe County Sheriff office from the place I was on my way to visit, to ask a deputy to come out to the scene and take my report on what appeared to be a major illicit drug drop. The deputy sheriff sent out to meet me at the site only wanted to argue and to convince me I could

not possibly have seen any plane dropping a white bale. I did not mention the Chevy Suburban, because she did not actually want to hear my report, only to impress on me this was going nowhere. A week later I was contacted and told what I had witnessed was a plane scattering funeral ashes and the case was closed. Almost precisely ten years later, the El Paso Times reports [Whistle-blowers allege corruption, cartel ties] Two former law enforcement officers allege that they cannot get anyone to investigate allegations that the Mexican drug cartels have corrupted U.S. law officers and politicians in the El Paso border region.. ..Dutton and Gonzales said small aircraft regularly drop drug loads on ranches or other properties along the U.S.-Mexico border The drop I had witnessed and that report should be on file, is within this geographic region, approximately 200 miles north of El Paso, easily within round trip fuel range of the plane I had seen, from the Mexican side of the border. Incidental to this, the article mentions drug cartels having infiltrated law enforcement offices in New Mexico. As I had been digging into a corrupt school supported by what appears likely is corrupt law enforcement, it becomes clear good citizenship can be a liability. I am certain this incident had become known to those persons in government agencies investigating my case in regards to using racing pigeons pretext as a means to bring my case before the FISA Court. That I could somehow possibly be framed for terrorism was no longer [in my view] the point of their

exercise. The plan became having me murdered. How that plays out is pretty interesting. Condoleezza Rice [direct from CHEVRON Board of Directors] is Bush National Security Advisor while Im still sitting on documentation of the CHEVRON criminal ring activities, I have major players [big time Bush fans] in the Albuquerque military/industrial religious right in potential steep civil liability, possibly to the tune of many millions of dollars, with the East Mountain High Schools pattern civil rights violations of minority and secular students, not to mention allegedly felonious action having to do with the founding and running of the school, all this together with my eye witness illicit drugs drop involving corrupt law enforcement in bed with drug cartels. People have been murdered for far less. About the time internal investigation of the East Mountain High School was being wrapped up by Governing Council member Jim Healy [Id by now been warned by Governing Council Member David Walter I was stepping on Council on Foreign Relations members toes, to back off and damn sure not involve attorneys] I had sold my house, my youngest would be heading off to college at just turned 16 years old and I knew I needed out of the country. I did not know everything I know now but I knew enough to understand my circumstance was untenable and probably highly lethal. Divorced, house sold and my youngest out on his own, I had managed to get out of the USA alive. On 8 July, 2007,

I landed at Charles De Gaulle [Paris] with a passport valid through 2014. Ive been in Europe more than five full years with no hope of a safe return and have been hunted across Germany, Spain and Germany again. It began with a botched murder attempt by East Mountain High School teacher Vince Langan, in Berlin on 3 October 2007, I had been tracked to the ATM I had been using, where the ambush had been laid. Now, tracking me to an ATM where you wait until my next visit requires access to bank records, you can get those with a National Security Letter. This implicates corrupt FBI. I routinely scouted the ATM area before approaching it and this is how things went wrong for the team Langan was a part of, which I suspect included members of the Albuquerque area law enforcement community. I turned Vince from stalker into stalked, caught up with him and achieved a point blank visual ID in a circumstance to my advantage and Langan had to flee. Ten days later there was another failed attempt, but this time pointing to a professional intelligence quid pro quo [my story Death of a MOSSAD Agent], then a few weeks later a silenced bullet from a rifle at a distance narrowly missed (punched a hole in the parked car I was walking past.) By this time I had put word out to the German authorities to just follow me around and watch. Then I did something the CIA and other intelligence services can only envy, I met a new would be assassin in close quarters, face to face, and shifted his attention onto himself without disturbing his intent and he took himself

out (how I accomplished that is not information I am willing to give up here.) The following Summer [2008] my knit hat [where it was rolled up at the back of my head] captured a small glass pellet intact, it had been shot at me while I was walking on a crowded sidewalk. I later arranged for the glass pellet to be turned in for analysis by a trusted 3rd party. This was about the time my t-mobile USA cell phone had done something very odd .. it stopped showing the t-mobile "D" logo on the screen and began working just as though I were in the USA, e.g. did not require the code necessary to access my voice-mail from Europe. It would almost certainly seem that would require a FISA warrant-less wiretap order, and the cooperation of t-mobile USA. This coincided with a period I'd encountered a team clearly intended on taking me out involving then active CIA officer Sabrina DeSousa who I was able to later positively ID on account of her involvement with a blown rendition for which she had been tried in absentia in Italy. One of the Italian defendants, a former head of military intelligence, fingered Condoleezza Rice as personally overseeing the renditions team of CIA officer DeSousa. After Bush had left office, I'd complained to the FBI Albuquerque office direct with an email and demanded information Id provided be forwarded to Justice Department Inspector General Glen Fine. Not long after, it would appear Albuquerque FBI analyst Sylvia Maruffi was

removed from my case (email system screw-up, a subsequent mail was bounced back to me identifying Maruffi .. it would appear my mails were no longer being routed to her and/or she had been removed.) This requested meeting was for purpose of briefing Amnesty International on circumstance of my having narrowly escaped assassination on several occasions in ongoing efforts by USA personalities in government to have me murdered by security services for, as it turns out: 1) knowledge or information in my possession and 2) the wider picture that could be developed from that knowledge or information 3) the USA's belief I possessed the innate skill necessary to develop that knowledge or information and 4) my skills as a communicator The information in possession concerns Condoleezza Rice, John Yoo and Jay Bybee in criminal association pointing to the three of them working together to both, acquire and subsequently cover up fraudulently obtained permits to drill on behalf of CHEVRON Corporation, going all the way back to 1991 and the administration of George H.W. Bush. Several follow-up requests to meet with Amnesty were made, always including copied to several parties and, those requests had been, for over 2 years, patently ignored by the Amnesty International Secretariat and James O'Dea. My conclusion, given the damning circumstance developing over time and having been consistently blown off by Amnesty International is, AI had been penetrated by, and to a large extent is controlled by, western intelligence agencies. Death of a MOSSAD Agent The aura of invincibility surrounding certain intelligence agencies is a deliberately cultivated lie and in many instance is undeserved. It is important people be aware these agencies which operate both: outside the law and on the extreme edge, not only engage in extra-judicial murder but have historically corrupted many fine persons drawn into their web, are not even close to invincible. Would be recruits should think long and hard at joining agencies where supervising talents in some cases might be closer to comic book reality than real world common sense. Since 2001, in addition to historic causes for attrition in the ranks such as moving to private sector, there has been an accelerated phenomena of the best in the business have been either leaving or have been driven out of the CIA over ethics issues. Mossad has suffered from ideological attrition for a longer overall period. It would be logical this will the case with MI6 and other agencies as well. This process of attrition leaves more and more ideologically driven senior leadership, leading to poor strategic planning, as well less competence and experience in middle management and numerous green operatives. Only recently, a large American CIA operation had been taken down in Lebanon by Hezbollah and Iran due to poor discipline on the parts of the CIA operatives and their handlers whod been regularly meeting at Pizza Hut and Starbucks in Beirut, pointing to the quality of field operations degenerated to nearly amateur level. Even with the best of agents, when operations run on the edge go wrong, they will always look bad. When an undercover operative is killed rather than the target, it is as about as bad as things can get, because the dead undercover operative can possibly be traced by both the penetrated organization and law enforcement. This is the likely outcome of a blown operation in which Id been the target. My experience is reconstructed nearly verbatim from notes Id made shortly after the event.

Oct 14, 2007 At Neu Koln, Berlin, when catching the subway south towards Rudow (to Britz Sud) I was standing at the underground kiosk buying breath fresheners when the train arrived. I quickly tried to complete the transaction but figured I would likely have to catch the next train. I noticed a group of young Arabs holding the door to the train open, preventing its departure, all (4) of them watching me,

clearly it appeared as though they either expected me to catch that train or they would not be on it themselves. The train consequently waited for me and I sprinted to the door they were holding for me and jumped between them, onboard. They let the door close as I turned 180 degrees rather than taking a seat, making them a group of five. Standing facing them, holding a pole, all seemed surprised at my action. A shorter, darker one, then began to assail me in Arabic language as though I were expected to understand, this one initially took the lead and was most vehement and hostile, although a couple of the others were also saying quite angry things to me direct, also if expecting I would understand. I simply looked at them all, eyes moving one to the other direct, and asked Do you speak English? A tall member of the group, with light complexion on my right (all of them were facing me) and who did not become involved with the angry speech, indicated he did speak English with Yes I asked What country are you from? His indirect answer was to point to the most hostile one, the short grubby one who was wearing an Israeli Defense Force battle fatigue shirt as though it were a trophy, and stated He is Palestinian. He made this a clear distinction. My guess was the one whod made this statement and the 2 others (all taller,

better dressed and lighter complexion than the Palestinian) were all Hezbollah aligned Lebanese, there is a large Lebanese community in that area. I said to the short hostile one, emphatically: Youre Palestinian? I apologize to you for George Bush! That one statement changed everything. All of them went silent and the Palestinian never said another word. I then said: There are many good people in my country who dont like what is happening, it is a difficult situation. From this moment and comment, the now totally silent (and clear outsider) Palestinian became the target of the Lebanese, while they checked out my reactions to their terrorizing the Palestinian, the focus of their hostility had shifted away from me. What happened now was really interesting. One of the Lebanese is suddenly is getting on his cell phone and making a call while the groups leader, the tall one to my right, looks at me while pointing to the Palestinian who is suddenly looking very ill, and says Maybe he is Israeli while assessing my reaction. I deliberately made myself look surprised and suspicious, raised one eyebrow at the Palestinian and said Israeli Arab? as though I both: did not fully understand and did not like the idea or somehow found it disconcerting. The train had made a brief stop and a fifth Arab (Lebanese) joined us with a cell phone and greeting the other Lebanese

but not the Palestinian who had simply become demoralized with a now clearly frightened look. The new arrival had some conversation in Arabic with the tall on my right, after a hand/fist greeting that, by gesture and look, was attempting to sort some things that needed sorting. The new arrival is now on his phone while also talking to the tall one to my right, but interrupts his conversation with the tall Lebanese and asks me Where are you from? England? almost as to test my veracity, his English skills would know, and I clearly answered USA. I was asked Where do you stay? I stated as a matter of fact Berlin Then I was asked: Do you speak German and I answered Only a little .. whereas the tall one to my right gave an absolutely evil look at the Palestinian and said slowly, deliberately, My German is VERY good. [I've often wondered at the significance of that statement] The new one and the tall one looked at each other, spoke again in Arabic and then the tall one suggested to me while rubbing the Palestinians belly Maybe he is a good boy for sex. What do you think? Now the Palestinian had the absolute look of I am going to die on his face as I answered emphatically, with the culturally correct I am a good man! and an offended look (I wore silver studs in my ears at that time and likely had been falsely profiled to MOSSAD as gay)

Suddenly the tall Lebanese, with my answer, made a violent stabbing motion with his right hand at the Palestinian while shouting (nearly screaming) to the new arrival The Israeli must be killed!! The Lebanese closed around the Palestinian with looks of shock and rage on their faces, when the train stopped, they shoved him off the train together with stepping off themselves. I assure you all, the Palestinian did not live long after this interrogation, at most a matter of hours. Now, I noticed the Germans on the train, men looking straight ahead, no expression, several women had looks of absolute terror on their faces, it had been that intense. The Palestinian was clearly not one of the group in any sense of intimate acquaintance or typical association. He was dressed a bit shabbily, wearing the IDF olive drab fatigue jacket with a Hebrew lettered tag over the left pocket. The Lebanese were all clean, well dressed, of a better class, and obviously educated and intelligent. The Palestinian had gone from initiator of the groups hostilities towards me, to the groups target in this course of events lasting at most 15, more likely only 10 minutes. I expected I could have died. Clearly, the posed as Palestinian MOSSAD agent had died instead. This was a failed scheme (compromised operation) of using the phony Palestinian (most likely a Sephardic MOSSAD agent fluent in Arab language and culture) with false pretext to dupe Hezbollah aligned people into assisting with a hit in a difficult operational area (Arab neighborhood.)

Between my survival skills (training) confronting the circumstance with dialogue, and Hezbollahs obvious caution, the Israeli operative, in a sense, literally cut his own throat. He was not prepared for my direct engagement. Dont believe for one minute the USA intelligence agency behaviors (murders of American citizens) had only begun with the new 'color of law' assassinations under Obama. This has gone on by far predating Dick Cheney (who merely kicked a long concealed history of intelligence agency murders into overdrive) and in the cleanest of times assassinations of 'enemies' as determined by corporate boards, are simply farmed out to 3rd parties, whether foreign intelligence agencies in a quid pro quo arrangement, or simply handed off under cover (laundered) to private contracting parties (professional hit men, which are oftentimes former agency employees contracted as free agents, such as is the case with Gary Berntsen and associates, who had failed a subsequent operation aimed at myself in Sant Feliu de Guixols, during February 2010) MOSSAD is bound to a code of conduct which requires avenging a loss. I would simply point out to the Israelis, at what price? The nature of psychology is, when you have made a mistake, that mistake must be corrected, to stay on track with a correct course of action. Otherwise, mistakes can become complications and complications can lead to making by far more serious mistakes. One question MOSSAD should look at is, did CIA and associates calculatedly omit the fact of my exceptional training, as well the fact I had repeatedly surprised and

neutralized or reversed previous operations mounted against me prior to this event? By now MOSSAD should understand their several subsequent failures can be no accident. No one is that lucky. Had the Americans purpose been, if I could not be taken, the damage inflicted to MOSSAD is a secondary reward, a consolation prize? Our Vital National Interests It's pretty simple actually. The USA's 'vital national interests' (and western democracies generally) is euphemism for corporate welfare, corporate welfare is all about the bottom line (profit) and profit historically has happened when we take raw material at gunpoint from disadvantaged nations. Modern corporate neo-colonialism creates social unrest and consequent fighting back which has evolved to 'terror', which in turn strengthens the market place in the security or arms industry. The overthrow of Gaddafi (for reasons including he wasnt buying high end weapons from France, following his rehabilitation) started brush fires (e.g. Mali) with his now unemployed mercenaries, lost weapons flow and western trained guerillas/insurgents moved on to instances of 'jihad' the western powers feel must be in turn stamped out. This strengthens the cycle of spreading 'terror' which again strengthens the outlay for security, propping up western economies in what has become a war of civilizations. In the case of Djibouti and a new one billion dollar drones base being built there, there is yet a French Foreign Legion presence hanging on from colonial era with the region surrounding nearby Somalia in process of destabilizing since Charles Grassleys efforts provided a vast arsenal of American weapons to the regime of Mohammed Said Barre nearly 30 years ago. Barre in turn employed those weapons to wreak a biblical terror on his own nation. This has impacted from Ethiopia to Kenya and beyond.

When nations are in cycles of violence, their raw materials can be had on the cheap by corporations because of instability and attending corruption, increasing stock values from Frankfurt to London to Toronto to Wall Street. The result at home? 'Terror' propaganda leading to the loss of civil liberties and increasing consolidation of the corporate-power corrupt over the vast and spreading malignancy of the entire cycle. The (No) Establishment Clause There is little question the American founders were, without exception, believers in a supreme deity or that is to say God. Their commonality of belief ends with that statement. The (no) Establishment clause of the antifederalist founders (as opposed the Federalist founders) enshrined in the First Amendment of the United States Constitution, derived from a consensus there could never be any one religion in supremacy in these United States. This consensus derived from historical experience showing a state religion is inimical to freedom. The one man responsible for a widespread support from the general populace supporting this consensus was Thomas Paine. John Adams had stated: Without the pen of Paine, the sword of Washington would have been in vain The purpose of the (no) Establishment clause derived from our several founders unshakeable notion that any church in supremacy results in persecution of freedom. In their time, this notion was based on very real history, pointing particularly to the Church of England and the Church at Rome. Both had initiated policies in collusion with government(s) resulting in exodus of minority religions and political free thinkers, to what eventually became our American republic. The No Establishment clause was intended to guard against these persecutions repeating history at future time in the USA.
