What is bidus BL (B. lactis)?


Bidobacterium lactis (B. lactis) is a probiotic that contributes to healthy digestive estive tract ora. Its important to maintain a healthy digestive tract ora to help support healthy growth & development.

In Canada, the most commonly introduced rst food is iron-fortied infant cereal. Meat & alternatives (iron-containing foods) can also be introduced at this stage. Fish, poultry and cooked egg yolks are all included in this group along with tofu and well-cooked legumes. However, the body best absorbs iron when it comes from meat sources rather than non-meat sources. Vegetables and fruits can be added next to add colour, avour, and texture followed by milk products like cheeses and yogourts.

Start with 1-2 oz/30-60 ml of milk and gradually increase as the volume of breast milk or infant formula decreases. Progress from a bottle to a cup. Continue breastfeeding or formula feeding on demand. Offer toddlers 12 months plus at least 16 oz/500 ml (but no more than 24 oz/720 ml ) of milk per day to help meet vitamin D requirements. At two years of age, low fat milk such as 2% is okay to offer your child.
