FORMAT FOR PREPARATION OF PROJECT REPORT The following guidelines must be followed in preparing the project report: Good

quality white paper A4 size should be used for typing and duplication. Care should be taken to avoid smudging while duplicating the copies. 1. ARRANGEMENT OF CONTENTS: The sequence in which the project report material should be arranged and bound should be as follows: Preliminary part of Project File should consist of: 1. Cover Page & Title Page 2. Certificate 3. Acknowledgement 4. Abstract 5. List of Tables 6. List of Figures 7. List of Symbols, Abbreviations and Nomenclature 8. Table of Contents Body part of Project File should consists of: 9. Chapters 10. Conclusion 11. Future Scope 12. References The table and figures shall be introduced in the appropriate places. Page Specification: (Written paper and source code) Left margin 1.5" Right margin 1" Top margin 1" Bottom margin 1" Page numbers - Pages should be numbered in Greek Number Format for preliminary part at the bottom center of the pages Page should be numbered for body part and concluding part consecutively and clearly at the bottom page on right hand side Normal Body Text: Font Size: 12, Times New Roman, 1.5 Spacing, Justified. Paragraph Heading: Font Size: 14, Times New Roman, Underlined, Left Aligned.

Chapter Heading: Font Size: 16, Times New Roman, Centre Aligned, Binding: Project should be typed on single sides of the page and hard bound with cover page in black colour. The matter should be printed in Golden colour on the front page.

Submission of Project Report to the Department: The student will submit his/her project report in the prescribed format. Two Copies of the Project (1 for department and 1 for candidate) and one CD containing report, presentation & coding. Viva procedure Student has to prepare power point presentation (ppt).

PREPARATION FORMAT: Cover Page & Title Page A specimen copy of the Cover page & Title page of the summer training report are enclosed. Acknowledgement In the Acknowledgement page, the writer recognizes his indebtedness for guidance and assistance of the members of the faculty/company. Acknowledgements should be expressed simply, tastefully, and tactfully. Student name should be mentioned at the end of the acknowledgement and it should be left justified. Abstract Abstract should be one page synopsis of the project report typed double line spacing, Font Style Times New Roman and Font Size 14. List of Tables The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear above the tables in the text. Table should be inserted for making the entries. List of Figures The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear below the figures in the text. Table should be inserted for making the entries. List of Symbols, Abbreviations and Nomenclature Table should be inserted for making the entries.. Standard symbols, abbreviations etc. should be used. Table of Contents The table of contents should list all material following it as well as any material which precedes it. The title page and Certificate will not find a place among the items listed in the Table of Contents but the page numbers of which are in lower case Roman letters. One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing the matter under this head. A specimen copy of the Table of Contents of the project report is given below. Chapters The chapters may be broadly divided into 2 parts (i) Introductory chapter, (ii) Chapters developing the main theme of the training work .

The main text will be divided into several chapters and each chapter may be further divided into several divisions and sub-divisions. Each chapter should be given an appropriate title. Tables and figures in a chapter should be placed in the immediate vicinity of the reference where they are cited. The reference material should be listed in the alphabetical order of the first author. The name of the author/authors should be immediately followed by the year and other details.
