OUT PATIENT- the film will be given to the patient

5) DICOM means Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine. It is for handling, storing, printing and transmitting information in medical imaging.

6) Diagnostic imaging means Use of electromagnetic radiation to produce images of internal body structures for diagnosis. Therapeutic radiation also known as radiotherapy. It uses high energy, penetrating waves or particles such as x rays, gamma rays, proton rays, or neutron rays to destroy cancer cells or keep them from reproducing.

7) Justification of practice In proposed and continuing practices, the justification of practice must be such that the work uses radiation because it gives benefit (or gain) to the exposed individuals or to society that that exceeds radiological risk exceeds radiological risk. Optimization of Protection and Safety Also known as ALARA. For any given radiation source within a practice, the the magnitude of individual doses, the number of magnitude of individual doses, the number of people exposed, and the likelihood of incurring exposures should be kept to as low as reasonably achievable, taking economic and social factors into considerations. Dose Limits Dose limit is used to apply controls on each individuals accumulation of dose. Dose limits do not include medical exposures and natural background radiation.

8) -It thought me so much of knowledge regarding medical imaging. - I have learned the new techniques on how to position the patients for truma or emergency cases. - I also learned how to operate Orthopentomography machine for the first time and also PACS systems. - All the staff were really good and friendly to me.

9) - There was no dark room so i unable to do dark room works. - The MRI is havent installed in that hospital and there were construction going during my posting time. So i am unlucky to enter the MRI room. - I could not attend to any mammography cases due to patient privacy. 10) Development - The developing agent gives up electrons to convert the silver halide grains to metallic silver. Grains that have been exposed to the radiation develop more rapidly, but given enough time the developer will convert all the silver ions into silver metal. Proper temperature control is needed to convert exposed grains to pure silver while keeping unexposed grains as silver halide crystals. Fixing - Unexposed silver halide crystals are removed by the fixing bath. The fixer dissolves only silver halide crystals, leaving the silver metal behind. Washing - The film is washed with water to remove all the processing chemicals. Drying - The film is dried for viewing.
