APPLICATION
Description : Memory cells have been protected from soft errors for more than a decade, due to the increase in soft error rate in logic circuits, because of increase of clock speed in large scale integrated circuits. The encoder and decoder circuitry around the memory blocks have become susceptible to soft errors as well and must also be protected. This work is a description of error detection, correction in encoders and decoders surrounding to memory elements, for protecting the memory elements from soft errors by using hamming and Euclidean geometry codes. By using the verilog hardware description language, the Fault Tolerant Memory Architecture will be simulated for error correction and detection by using above mentioned techniques and compare their performance. 4. A PATTERN SIMILARITY SCHEME FOR MEDICAL IMAGE RETRIEVAL

Description: ONE of the primary tools used by physicians is the comparison of previous and current medical images associated with pathologic conditions. As the amount of pictorial information stored in both local and public medical databases is growing, efficient image indexing and retrieval becomes a necessity. During the last decade, the advances in information technology allowed the development of content-based image retrieval (CBIR) systems, capable of retrieving images based on their similarity with one or more query images. Indicative examples of such systems are QBIC. These benets have motivated researchers either to apply general- purpose CBIR systems to medical images [3] or to develop dedicated ones explicitly oriented to specic medical domains. Specialized CBIR systems have been developed to support the retrieval of various kinds of medical images, including high- resolution computed tomographic (HRCT) images , breast cancer biopsy slides ], positron emission tomographic (PET) functional images ultrasound images , pathology images, and radiographic images. 5. IMAGE CLASSIFICATION BY K- MEANS CLUSTERING

Description: In a content based image retrieval system, target images are sorted by feature similarities with respect to the query (CBIR).In this paper, we propose to use K-means clustering for the classification of feature set obtained from the histogram. Histogram provides a set of features for proposed for Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR). Hence histogram method further refines the histogram by splitting the pixels in a given bucket into several classes. Here we compute the similarity for 8 bins and similarity for 16 bins. Standard histograms, because of their efficiency and insensitivity to small changes, are widely used for content based image retrieval. But the main disadvantage of histograms is that many images of different appearances can have similar histograms because histograms provide coarse characterization of an image. 6.LOSSLESS COMPRESSION OF COLOR MAP IMAGES BY CONTEXT TREE MODELING.

Description: The best lossless compression results of color map images have been obtained by dividing the color maps into layers, and by compressing the binary layers separately by using an optimized context tree model that exploits interlayer dependencies. Even though the use of binary alphabet simplifies the context tree construction and exploits spatial dependencies efficiently, it is expected that equivalent or better result would be obtained by operating directly on the color image without layer separation. In this project, we extend the previous context tree based method to operate on color values instead of the binary layers. We first generate an n-ary context tree by constructing a complete tree up to a predefined depth, and then prune out nodes that do not provide improvement in compression. Experiments show that the proposed method outperforms existing methods for large set of different color map images. Tools required :- MATLAB 7.0v. 7. RECEIVE DIVERSITY IN AWGN

Description: In this project we calculate the probability of error for transmission over Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channels.Capacity limits highlight the potential spectral efficiency of MIMO channels, which grows approximately linearly with the number of antennas, assuming ideal propagation.A MIMO channel can be realized with multielement array antennas. In this project ,Rayleigh models are assumed since they are realistic for environments with a large number of scatterers. In channels with independent Rayleigh fading, a signal transmitted from every individual transmit antenna appears uncorrelated at each of the receive antennas . 8. BIT ERROR RATE (BER) CURVE FOR BPSK MODULATION

Description: BPSK (also sometimes called PRK, Phase Reversal Keying, or 2PSK) is the simplest form of phase shift keying (PSK). It uses two phases which are separated by 180 and so can also be termed 2-PSK. It does not particularly matter exactly where the constellation points are positioned on the real axis, at 0 and 180. This modulation is the most robust of all the PSKs since it takes the highest level of noise or distortion to make the demodulator reach an correct decision. In this project, we will derive the theoretical equation for bit error rate (BER) with Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) modulation scheme in Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel. 9. SIMULATION OF LDPC CODES

Description: In information theory and coding theory with applications in computer science and telecommunication, error detection and correction or error control are techniques that enable reliable delivery of digital data over unreliable communication channels. LDPC codes(Low Density Parity Check) are capacity-approaching codes, which means that practical constructions exist that allow the noise threshold to be set very close Shannon limit for a symmetric memory-less channel. The noise threshold defines an upper bound for the channel noise, up to which the probability of lost information can be made as small as desired. Using iterative techniques, LDPC codes can be decoded in time linear to their block length. In this project, we will implement LDPC mappers and demappers. 12. VHDL IMPLEMENTATION OF EDGE DETECTION

Description: Edges are considered to be most important image attributes that provide valuable information for human image perception. With the advent of artificial intelligence systems and forensic science the process of edge detection has achieved the most sought status. Edge detection is a very complex process affected by deterioration due to different level of noise. A number of operators are defined to solve the problem of edge detection They behave well in one application but poorly in other. Before an image can be segmented, the objects in that image must be detected and roughly classified as to shape and boundary characteristics many edge detectors, such as Roberts Operator, Sobel operator, Prewitt Operator, Laplacian Operator, etc., have been developed in the last two decades. Since the Sobel operator is one of the most commonly used edge detectors in image processing systems, we used this operator to illustrate our design methodology. 15. AUTOMATIC DENSITY TRAFFIC LIGHT CONTROLLER.

Description: An automatic Density Traffic Light Controller is more likely to be an important application in urban countries. This project is aimed at allowing the vehicles to pass depending on the amount of traffic at various junctions. This project basically consists of IR Sensor Pairs to detect the density of the traffic in the junction. If any of the path in the junction is having more number of vehicles i.e. the density of traffic is high enough in particular path and it is given preference to pass by allowing green lights rather than lesser density ones in other paths. The detector continuously monitors the density of the traffic in the junction. This project mainly consists of IR Pair (Tx, Rx), Microcontroller, LDR, D.C Relays, Power supply unit and LEDs. This project can also been extended to an LDR sensors to control the ON/OFF mechanism of the Street Lights. Tools Required:-Hardware: IC Burner,8051 Microcontroller. 16. COLOR HISTOGRAM FEATURES BASED IMAGE CLASSIFICATION IN CONTENT BASED IMAGE RETRIEVAL SYSTEMS
Description: The histogram of an image is a plot of the gray level values or the intensity values of a color channel versus the number of pixels at that value. The shape of the histogram provides us with information about the nature of the image, or sub image if we are considering an object within the image. For example, a very narrow histogram implies a low contrast image, a histogram skewed toward the high end implies a bright image, and a histogram with two major peaks, called bimodal, implies an object that is in contrast with the background. The histogram features that we will consider are statistical-based features, where the histogram is used as a model of the probability distribution of the intensity levels. 17. BLURRED IMAGE RECOGNITION BY LEGENDRE MOMENT INVARIANTS

Description: Processing blurred images is a key problem in many image applications. Existing methods to obtain blur invariants which are invariant with respect to centrally symmetric blur are based on geometric moments or complex moments. In this paper, we propose a new method to construct a set of blur invariants using the orthogonal Legendre moments.. The comparison of the present approach with previous methods in terms of pattern recognition accuracy is also provided. The experimental results show that the proposed descriptors are more robust to noise .In this project our main aim is Blurred image recognition by calculating recognition rate using Legendere moment invariants and have better discriminative power than the methods based on geometric or complex moments. 18. MEDIAN FILTER FOR COLOUR IMAGES

Description: A median filter is a non linear filter and is efficient in removing salt-and pepper noise .median tends to preserve the sharpness of image edges while removing noise. If colour image corrupted by salt and pepper noice, we cannot apply median filter directly instead we divide the colour image into three plains (red plain, green plane, and blue plane) and apply median filtering to the three planes individually .so that the impact of salt and pepper noise is suppressed and the functions is used to apply median filters to the three (red , green, blue) planes individually . 19. HIGH SPEED RF MULTI-MODULUS PRESCALER ARCHITECTURE FOR FRACTIONAL-N PLL FREQUENCY SYNTHESIZER
Description: This paper describes the design of a multi-modulus prescaler for fractional N frequency-synthesizer. A new architecture is proposed to increase the critical time window for correct division. Quantification of the improvement of the architecture is done on the behavioral and transistor levels. The architecture is used to implement a multi-modulus prescaler with division factor 64-127 in a SiGe 0.35 um BiCMOS technology with f o of 60GHz . The architecture improves the maximum operating frequency of the prescaler by 50%. Post layout simulations indicate the prescaler can operate at an input frequency of 3.2GHz while consuming only 6.4mW, with a phase noise floor of -132dBc/Hz ,and up to 4.6GHz while consuming 14mW. 20. GAUSSIAN PROCESS REGRESSION FOR SPEECH ENHANCEMENT USING KALMAN FILTER
Descriptions: In many practical situations speech signal gets corrupted by the addition of noise. As a matter of fact the presence of noise can result in appreciable degradation in quality and intelligibility of the speech. This degradation not only cause difficulty in interpreting and understanding the speech, but it can also leads to problems in automatic speech recognition and speaker recognition. Hence speech enhancement process places a major role in present day scenario.Since speech is non-stationary, it is common practice to segment the speech into short overlapped frames and assume the signal to be stationary with in each frame. The kalman filter algorithm based on the non-stationary signal model is able to partially avoid the commonly used quasi stationary assumption of the speech. The nonstationary of the signal is fully exploited in suppressing the noise power. Applying kalman filtering for speech enhancement consists of two steps. (1) Estimation of speech model parameters and noise variance. (2) Applying kalman filtering algorithm using estimated parameter values. 25. IMPLEMENTATION OF OFDM RECEIVER USING VHDL

Description: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has become very popular, allowing high speed wireless communications. OFDM could be considered either a modulation or multiplexing technique, and its hierarchy corresponds to the physical and medium access layer. A basic OFDM modulator system consists of a QAM or PSK modulator, a serial to parallel, and an IFFT module. The iterative nature of the IFFT and its computational order makes OFDM ideal for a dedicated architecture outside or parallel to the main processor. The VHDL implementation allows the design to be extended for either FPGA or ASIC implementation, which suits more for the Software Defined Radio (SDR) design methodology. CHANNEL ESTIMATION AND PREDICTION FOR ADAPTIVE OFDM DOWNLINKS

Description: Channel estimation and prediction algorithms are developed and evaluated for use in broadband adaptive OFDM downlinks over fading channels for vehicular users. Accurate channel estimation may be obtained by using a combined pilot aided and decision-directed approach based on Kalman filtering and prediction. The correlation properties of the channel in both time and space are taken into account. Kalman performance at much lower computational complexity is attained with recently developed constant gain adaptation laws. We present and evaluate a state-space realization of such an adaptation law, with computational complexity of the order of the square of the number of parallel tracked pilot sub carriers Tools required: MAT Lab: Version 7.0 Estimated Man Hours to complete project: 105 hrs*2 students=210 hrs Abstract preparation 10 hrs Literature survey 18 hrs Design document 9 hrs Implementation 34 hrs Testing 9 hrs Result analysis 10 hrs Document preparation 14hrs Seminars(4*20mins) 1hr 20 mins Knowledge test 40min ---------------------------------------------Total (approx) 105 hrs ---------------------------------------------Suggested Readings i) Books 1. DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A GSM BASED VEHICLE THEFT CONTROL SYSTEM

Description: The proposed method is designed of GSM technology for sending the message to the owner of the vehicle. By reading the signals received by the mobile, one can control the ignition of the engine; say to lock it or to stop the engine immediately by sending message to the number present inside the vehicle. Again it will come to the normal condition only after entering a secured password. The owner of the vehicle will know this secured password. The main concept in this design is introducing the mobile communications into the embedded system. The motion of the vehicle is determined by the MEMS sensor. The design unit is very simple & low cost. The entire designed unit is on a single chip. The system uses a compact circuitry built around S3C2440 (ARM9)/LPC2148 (ARM7)/ 8051 microcontroller Programs are developed in Embedded C. 36. POINT, LINE DETECTION USING MATLAB

Description: To manually, extract the line information from an image can be very tiring and time consuming especially if there are many lines in the image. An automatic method is preferable, but is not as trivial as edge detection since one has to determine which edge point belongs to which line if any, the Hough Transform makes this separation possible. We have proposed an interesting and computationally efficient procedure for detecting lines in pictures. 37. DEVELOPING ZIGBEE DEPLOYMENT GUIDELINE INTERFERENCE FOR SMART GRID APPLICATIONS
Description:

UNDER

WI-FI

Smart grid is an intelligent power generation, distribution, and control system. ZigBee, as a wireless mesh networking scheme low in cost, power, data rate, and complexity, is ideal for smart grid applications, e.g., real-time system monitoring, load control, and building automation. Unfortunately, almost all ZigBee channels overlap with wireless local area network (WLAN) channels, resulting in severe performance degradation due to interference. In this paper, we aim to develop practical ZigBee deployment guideline under the interference of WLAN. We identify the Safe Distance and Safe Offset Frequency using a comprehensive approach including theoretical analysis, software simulation, and empirical measurement. In addition, we propose a frequency agility-based interference avoidance algorithm. The proposed algorithm can detect interference and adaptively switch nodes to safe channel to dynamically avoid WLAN interference with small latency and small energy consumption. Our proposed scheme is implemented with a Meshnetics ZigBit Development Kit and its performance is empirically evaluated in terms of the packet error rate (PER) using a ZigBee and Wi-Fi coexistence test bed. It is shown that the empirical results agree with our analytical results. The measurements demonstrate that our design guideline can efficiently mitigate the effect of Wi-Fi interference and enhance the performance of ZigBee networks. 38. REMOTE SENSING AND CONTROL OF AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM USING A DISTRIBUTED WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK
Description: Efficient water management is a major concern in many cropping systems in semiarid and arid areas. Distributed in-field sensor-based irrigation systems offer a potential solution to support site-specific irrigation management that allows producers to maximize their productivity while saving water. This paper describes details of the design and instrumentation of variable rate irrigation, a wireless sensor network, and software for real-time infield sensing and control of a site-specific precision linear-move irrigation system. Field conditions were sitespecifically monitored by six in-field sensor stations distributed across the field based on a soil property map, and periodically sampled and wirelessly transmitted to a base station. An irrigation machine was converted to be electronically controlled by a programming logic controller that updates georeferenced location of sprinklers from a differential Global Positioning System (GPS) and wirelessly communicates with a computer at the base station. Graphic user interface-based software developed in this paper offered stable remote access to field conditions and real-time control and monitoring of the variable-rate irrigation controller. 39. PREAMBLE-BASED SNR ESTIMATION ALGORITHM FOR WIRELESS MIMO OFDM SYSTEMS
Description: Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) offers high data rates and robust performance in frequency selective channels by link adaptation utilizing information about the channel quality. Combined with multiple input multiple-output (MIMO) technique it provides improved link reliability and increased data rate. A crucial parameter required for adaptive transmission is the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In this paper, we propose a novel SNR estimation algorithm for wireless 22 MIMO OFDM systems based on the reuse of the synchronization preamble. The periodic structure of the preamble is utilized for the computationally efficient estimation of average SNR and SNRs per subcarrier, based on the second-order moments of received preamble samples. The performance of the proposed algorithm is assessed for channels with different levels of frequency selectivity. Simulation results show robust performance of proposed algorithm even in strong frequency selective channels. Tools Required: . 40. ZIGBEE BASED INTELLIGENT HELMET FOR COAL MINERS

Description: In recent years, LED miner's helmet are extensively deployed in large and medium-sized coal mines, for their flexibility of light weight and low power .Meanwhile ZigBee based wireless sensor networks are recently investigated due to their remote environment monitoring capabilities. Such a network can easily collect sensor data and transmit them by radio. Combining these two advantages design a smart new helmet, which enable the helmet as a mobile node of ZigBee wireless sensor networks, gathering parameters from underground timely and quickly. Moreover miners can also exchange information from control centre through wireless speech communication. It is convenient for centralized management to build real-time surveillance on environment parameters, so potential safety problems can be avoid by early-warning intelligence. 42. DESIGN OF VEHICLE POSITIONING SYSTEM BASED ON ARM

Description: Initially passive systems were developed to support in tracking and navigation for location-based applications. For the applications that require real time location information of the vehicle, these systems cannot be employed, because they store the location information in the internal storage that can only be accessed when vehicle is available. This is the main disadvantage of the existing method. The main aim of this project is to track the vehicles that which mean to locate the position of the vehicle. The location of the vehicle is indicated using GPS (global positioning system) technology. Communication link is made possible through a GPS receiver. GPS will give the information of parameters like longitude, latitude and attitude. The values of longitude and latitude values are converted into locations name by using Google map and the location can be viewed on the touch screen module connected to the ARM9 board. With this system we can easily identify vehicle thefts. The present existing method consists of a different wireless technology where the data is transmitted between different devices but the data transmission is not secured and the power consumption is also more. These wireless data transmission cannot transmit the data correctly which was insecure to transmit. We can overcome the disadvantage of the existing method by using zigbee technology which is low cost which allows the technology to be widely deployed in wireless control and monitoring applications, the low power-usage allows longer life with smaller batteries, and the mesh networking provides high reliability and larger range. ZigBee has been developed to meet the growing demand for capable wireless networking between numerous low power devices. In industry ZigBee is being used for next generation automated manufacturing, with small transmitters in every device on the floor, allowing for communication between devices to a central computer. 45. IMPLEMENTATION OF OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE AND ZIGBEE CONTROL FUNCTIONS FOR OMNI DIRECTIONAL MOBILE ROBOT
Description: In the existing method we can control the robot by using the RF remote control which consumes more power and which is not secured for wireless transmission of commands for controlling robot. The omni directional configuration is a most suggested mechanism for mobile robot, which have the capability of changing directions within the limited space in the indoor environment. The ODMR (Omni directional mobile robot) uses IR sensor to sense the obstacle and send the obstacle distance signal to embedded controller. 47. WIRELESS SECURITY CONTROL SYSTEM & SENSOR NETWORK FOR SMOKE & FIRE DETECTION Description:
The main aim of this project is to develop a wireless security control system for smoke and fire detection. The requirement for the project is to design and to create a functional smoke detector. After detecting smoke or a high temperature (potential fire), the detector sets off the appropriate alarm sound. The detector also transmits an RF signal to the other smoke detectors in the network so that those detectors, in turn, sound their alarm. Each detector is capable of sounding four different alarms. There is a smoke, temperature, low battery, and received alarm. The purpose of this project is to detect the fire and transmit information by using wireless network. 55. SPECTRUM OF BPSK, QPSK, AND MSK

Description Digital communication is gaining priority in todays world for its own advantages. It is found that binary data consisting of sharp transitions between "one" and "zero" states and vice versa potentially creates signals that have sidebands extending out a long way from the carrier, and this creates problems for many communications systems, as any sidebands outside the allowed bandwidth cause interference to adjacent channels. the different modulation techniques present in PSK are BPSK, QPSK and MSK are analyzed using constellation diagram (I Q concepts). From the spectra it is clear that MSK is less immune to noise, less complex to implement and high efficiency compared to QPSK and BPSK. 56. MODULATION AND DEMODULATION OF DPSK

Description : Differential phase shift keying (DPSK) is a common form of phase modulation that conveys data by changing the phase of the carrier wave. In BPSK and QPSK there are ambiguity of phase if the constellation is rotated by some effect in the communications channel through which the signal passes. This problem can be overcome by using the data to change rather than set the phase. In differentially-encoded QPSK (DQPSK), the phase-shifts are 0, 90, 180, -90 corresponding to data '00', '01', '11', '10'. This kind of encoding may be demodulated in the same way as for non-differential PSK but the phase ambiguities can be ignored. Thus, each received symbol is demodulated to one of the M points in the constellation and a comparator then computes the difference in phase between this received signal and the preceding one. 57. CALCULATION OF BIT ERROR RATE FOR BPSK FOR RAYLEIGH CHANNEL
Description : Digital communication is gaining priority in todays world for its own advantages. During the transmission data is lost due reflections from buildings, trees and vehicles. BPSK is less immune to noise hence there is a data loss due to it also. Hence it is necessary to calculate the data lost, which is estimated using bit error rate concept. So a random BPSK signal with bit sequences +1 and -1 is generated. Multiply the symbols with the time varying channel and then add the Rayleigh noise. At the receiver, equalize (divide) the received symbols with the known channel. Perform hard decision decoding and count the bits errors. The BER results obtained using Matlab/Octave simulation scripts show good agreement with the derived theoretical results. 58. A REAL TIME PRE-CRASH DETECTION SYSTEM

Description The growth of vehicles in large number and with the same Narrow size road it is very difficult for the driver to drive a vehicle safely without a crash on the road. If for a small fraction of time if a vehicle driven has missed his attention then it will result in crash of vehicle with front vehicle even if the vehicle is in small speed or no speed. Today many sensors are available for detection of pre crash between vehicles. In our proposed system we are using an Infrared transmitter and infrared receiver and a buzzer combination system which is attached to a microcontroller board. When any obstacle or vehicle detected by IR sensor system it will send signal to the embedded board. After receiving this signal embedded board sends a signal to the Buzzer system which will work immediately. 60. DEVELOPMENT OF REMOTE WASTE GAS MONITOR SYSTEM

Description: Atmospheric pollution is getting increasing day by day. And air pollution is one which is causing lot many health diseases. The motor vehicles and factories are two major factors which are polluting the air. The present existing method we can find the release of the different waste gases into the atmosphere by using sensors, but we cannot find the exact location of the release of gases into the atmosphere and also we cannot find the exact location until the surrounding area gets polluted. This project will more useful for controlling the air pollution causing by industries by intimating the waste gas release information to the pollution control room as a message. 61. WIRELESS SENSORS NETWORK FOR WILD FIRE MONITORING SYSTEM

Description: In our globe, food chain balance is important. If there is any imbalance, some species are less and some are more in the world. But all the species in the world are important. Unfotunately due to global warming, there are changes in the temperatures. Due to high temperatures, some times forests burn taking lives of wild animals. Not only saving lives of species but also preventing sol errosion is important. Therefore we need a system which warns us of danger of fire in the forests. This proposal consists of two modules. First, it monitors the forests and gives information to the base station. Tools Required: Keil microvision-3 and Flash magic and AT89S52/LPC2148. 61. WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK IN WATER IRRIGATION CONTROL MONITORING SYSTEM

Description: Due to global warming, rains are irregular in the rainy season. Therefore most of the farmers are depending on motors to supply water to the fields. But it needs manual monitoring to check the water level in the fields. This project presents a system which automatically monitors the water level in the fields. It consists of two sections: a transmitting section and a receiving section. Transmitting section always senses the moisture level in the fields. If there is no sufficient water, it switches on the motor to pump water into the fields. Tools Required: Keil microvision-3 and Flash magic and AT89S52/LPC2148. 63. AUTOMATIC TWO GATE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR TOLL TAX COLLECTION
Description: When we travel in highways, we generally come across toll tax collecting systems. Toll tax is a tax collected by some authorities who build those roads. In the existing system, we need manual operation to control (open or close) the gates. This proposal provides an automatic control of the gates reducing the manual operation and also decreasing the cost. The system opens the entry gate if any vehicle is detected in front of the gate. After vehicle enters, it closes the gate. After person pays the tax and stands near the exit gate, this gate will be opened and after it exits, it closed. The system is designed such that when one vehicle exits, then only another vehicle enters. Tools Required: Keil microvision-3 and Flash magic and AT89S52/LPC2148. 64. SIMULATION OF SIGNATURE IDENTIFICATION IN MATLAB

Description: A practical signature verification system incorporating feed-forward neural network has been successfully developed and evaluated. The development of the system includes data acquisition, database construction, application program interfaces creation, preprocessing of the signals, neural network training of the signatures and writing of verification algorithm. In spite of signatures variation, the registration and verification algorithms play a significant role to ensure the success of the verification. Various algorithms are involved in the preprocessing stage. Among them are normalization, common time axes creation, velocity magnitude calculation and signature validity checking on signals Tools Required: MATLAB7.0 Estimated Man Hours to Complete Project:- 105hrs * 2 students = 210hrs Abstract Preparation 10hrs Literature Survey 18hrs Design Document 09hrs Implementation 34hrs Testing 09hrs Result Analysis 10hrs Document Preparation 14hrs Seminars(4*20 min.) 1.20 hr Knowledge Test 40 min. ------------------------------------------------------------------Total (Approx.) 105 hrs 45 min. ------------------------------------------------------------------Suggested Readings: i) Books: 1. 65. SIMULATION OF WIENER FILTER IN BIOMEDICAL IMAGES USING MATLAB

Description: We can see that inverse filtering is a very easy and accurate way to restore an image provided that we know what the blurring filter is and that we have no noise. Because an inverse filter is a high pass filter, it will tend to amplify noise as was presented in our results. The second way of inverse filtering was through an iterative procedure. Since that is more or less an averaging method, it deals a little better with noise by averaging it out. But both methods do not deal well with noise. We must use some method of restoration which would trade off inverse filtering with de-noising.
