3A The Genetic Code

The purpose of this assignment is to: Enable you to develop your knowledge of role of DNA in inheritance and describe the mechanisms by which DNA is reproduced and passed on

Scenario: You are working for the Sanger Institute as a public liaison officer where you have been asked by your manager to produce a leaflet outline how genes control cell function aimed at secondary school pupils and you are trying to prevent and misconceptions Task 1 You need to produce a detailed and colorful leaflet / poster which describe what genes are and how they control cell function. You should include diagrams which clearly explain the process. You need to include a small section explaining the use of genetic engineering, explain how the genes are altered and the outcomes include diagrams. To achieve distinction you need to include lots of detail and explain how the gene code works to control variation in a species This provides evidence for P1and D1
