How will the material be taught?


First three days will be on Tribal, Federal and State law. This information will be taught by using a combination of fill-in-the-blank style worksheets, discussion, lecture, and exercises. The second portion will be 1 days on Trial Advocacy. During this time students will do interactive exercises and mock trial hearings using a real case, real discovery, and real documents which was heard in Warm Springs Tribal Court. The last half day will be used to take the training exam (non-attorney) or bar exam (attorneys).

How will the material be taught in regards to Trial Advocacy?


Trial advocacy training will be done using multiple mock trial exercises where you will have to use the information in your trial notebook (from a real Warm Springs Tribal Court case) to do multiple mock trial hearings for every step in the court process, including, but not limited to: Bail/Bond Hearings Arraignment Trial (all phases) Appeal

What does a Provisional admittance to Warm Springs Tribal Bar consist of?
Those participants who successfully complete this training and final exam, will be allowed to advocate in Bail/Bond hearings for criminal cases in Warm Springs Tribal Court. Additional details can found at

Upon successful completion of training:


Upon passing training exam, non-attorney will receive Advocacy training certificate The bar exam will be available for Attorneys who choose to seek admission to WS tribal court.
