OPEN PUBLIC MEETING STATEMENT: This meeting is being held in conformity to the Open Public Meetings Act N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq. Proper public notice of the meeting was published in the local papers on November 10 and November 11, 2012. If any Board member or member of the public in attendance believes that the meeting is in violation of the Open Public Meetings Act, the Hoboken Board of Education requests that they make a statement at this time. The Board wishes to make those in attendance aware that this meeting is being recorded on video and will be broadcast by the Board at a later date on CATV Channel 77. The Hoboken Board of Education is committed to preserving the decorum of the public process and is mindful that we live in the electronic age of computers, cell phones and other electronic communications devices. RESOLUTION No. GP-0017-12-13 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF WORKSHOPS RESOLVED, that the Board of Education, upon recommendation of the Superintendent, approves the following workshops: WHEREAS, N.J.A.C. 6A:23B-1.1 et. seq. requires that each board of education adopt a formal policy and procedures relating to travel and expense reimbursement for its employees and board members; and WHEREAS, the School District of the Hoboken Board of Education (the Board) adopted a Travel Expense Reimbursement Policy that addresses the reimbursement of travel-related expenses by Board members and employees of the District; and WHEREAS, the Board has considered all other relevant guidelines and circulars associated with the adoption of its Travel Expense Reimbursement Policy; and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the travel listed in this Resolution is educationally necessary and fiscally prudent; and WHEREAS, the Board has concluded that the travel and expense reimbursement listed in this Resolution are directly related to and within the scope of the employees current responsibilities; and WHEREAS, the Board has determined that the travel and expense reimbursements listed in this Resolution are for travel that promotes the delivery of instruction or furthers the efficient operation of the school district; and WHEREAS, the Board has concluded that the travel and expense reimbursements listed in this Resolution are in compliance with State travel reimbursement guidelines as established by the Department of Treasury and incorporated herein; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23B and Board Policy and upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, that the School District of the Hoboken Board of Education, in the County of Hudson, New Jersey, approves travel requests as listed.
