OPEN PUBLIC MEETING STATEMENT: This meeting is being held in conformity to the Open Public Meetings Act N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et. seq. Proper public notice of the meeting was published in the local papers on November 10 and November 11, 2012. If any Board member or member of the public in attendance believes that the meeting is in violation of the Open Public Meetings Act, the Hoboken Board of Education requests that they make a statement at this time. The Board wishes to make those in attendance aware that this meeting is being recorded on video and will be broadcast by the Board at a later date on CATV Channel 77. RESOLUTION No. FI-0006-12-13 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF HOBOKEN CHARTER SCHOOL LEASE RESOLVED, to approve the lease agreement between the Hoboken Board of Education and the Hoboken Charter School for the period July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 at the following installment amounts: by October 31, 2012: by January 31, 2013 by April 30, 2013: RESOLUTION No. FI-0007-12-13 SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR COOPERATIVE PRICING SYSTEM AGREEMENT RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education approves the participation in a cooperative pricing system with Middlesex Regional Educational Services. RESOLUTION No. FI-0008-12-13 SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF REVISION TO FOOD SERVICES MANAGEMENT COMPANY CONTRACT APPROVED ON JUNE 12, 2012 RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education hereby rewards the school food service contract for the 2012-2013 school year to Sodexo Management, Inc., Weatogue, Connecticut; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the fees for the said contract include a flat Management fee of $55,852 for the 2012-2013 school year and a General Support Services of $69,257 for the 2012-2013 school year, based on the conditions and assumptions stipulated in the proposed contract on file in office of the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary remaining in effect; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Sodexo Management, Inc. guarantees a breakeven bottom line of the operational financial report for the 2012-2013 school year, with no subsidy to the bottom line by the LEA. In the event that the costs of operating the Food Service Program exceed total revenues (from all sources), Sodexo Management, Inc. will be responsible for any losses (shortfalls) incurred but in no event shall the reimbursement obligation exceed the amount of $125,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the prices for student lunches during the 2012-2013 school year shall remain $3.00 at the elementary schools and $3.50 at the high school with the adult lunch price at $4.00, and that the district shall continue to offer a Universal Breakfast program to all students at no cost; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Business Administrator/Board Secretary is authorized to execute the contract in accordance with the approvals by the New Jersey Department of Agriculture, Division of Child Nutrition. $ 40,135.33 $ 40,135.33 $ 40,135.33

RESOLUTION No. FI-0009-12-13 SUBJECT: APPROVAL INVENTORY OF FOOD, BEVERAGE, AND SUPPLIES AND RECOGNITION OF FOOD LOSS RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education approves the 2012-2013 Inventory of Food, Beverage, and Supplies for the food service account in the amount of $2,223.05, and recognizes food loss from spoilage in the amount of $2,249.32. RESOLUTION No. FI-0010-12-13 SUBJECT: APPROVAL FOR THE DISPOSAL AND LOSS OF FOOD DUE TO POWER FAILURE RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education approves the disposal and loss of food, as attached, due to a power failure at the Wallace School on Monday, October 22, 2012. RESOLUTION No. FI-0011-12-13 SUBJECT: ESTABLISHMENT OF EMERGENCY AT CALABRO PRIMARY SCHOOL WHEREAS, the City of Hoboken was inundated with water from a catastrophic flood caused by Hurricane Sandy, and WHEREAS, the Hoboken Board of Education must take immediate measures to mitigate damages and open the public schools in order to provide a thorough and efficient education for all students; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education ratifies the declaration of an emergency by the Interim Business Administrator due to Flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy, at the Calabro Primary School effecting the health and safety of the Hoboken community, in accordance with the N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board approves the award of an emergency contract with Royal Plus, Inc., 201 Belt Street, Snow Hill, MD 21863 in an estimated amount of $20,000 to include the provision of pumping services, project management, general labor, interior debris and water removal, cleaning, sanitizing all first floor surfaces 4' down, total loss contents to be identified, inventoried and placed on street for removal BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Business Administrator be authorized to submit the declaration of emergency to the Executive County Superintendent, having received prior approval.

RESOLUTION No. FI-0012-12-13 SUBJECT: ESTABLISHMENT OF EMERGENCY AT CONNORS SCHOOL WHEREAS, the City of Hoboken was inundated with water from a catastrophic flood caused by Hurricane Sandy, and WHEREAS, the Hoboken Board of Education must take immediate measures to mitigate damages and open the public schools in order to provide a thorough and efficient education for all students; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education ratifies the declaration of an emergency by the Interim Business Administrator due to Flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy, at the Connors School effecting the health and safety of the Hoboken community, in accordance with the N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board approves the award of an emergency contract with Royal Plus, Inc., 201 Belt Street, Snow Hill, MD 21863 in an estimated amount of $253,000, to include project management, general labor, interior debris and water removal, cleaning, sanitizing all first floor surfaces 4' down; total loss contents to be identified, inventoried and placed on street for removal the cutting and removing of sheetrock, cleaning, sanitizing all first floor surfaces 4' down, total loss contents to be identified, inventoried and placed on street for removal BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Business Administrator be authorized to submit the declaration of emergency to the Executive County Superintendent, having received prior approval.

RESOLUTION No. FI-0013-12-13 SUBJECT: ESTABLISHMENT OF EMERGENCY AT WALLACE PRIMARY SCHOOL WHEREAS, the City of Hoboken was inundated with water from a catastrophic flood caused by Hurricane Sandy, and WHEREAS, the Hoboken Board of Education must take immediate measures to mitigate damages and open the public schools in order to provide a thorough and efficient education for all students; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Hoboken Board of Education ratifies the declaration of an emergency by the Interim Business Administrator due to Flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy, at the Wallace Primary School effecting the health and safety of the Hoboken community, in accordance with the N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-7, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board approves the award of an emergency contract with Royal Plus, Inc., 201 Belt Street, Snow Hill, MD 21863, in an estimated amount of $29,160 to include the provision of project management, general labor, interior debris and water removal, cleaning, sanitizing all surfaces 4' down, total loss contents to be identified, inventoried and placed on street for removal, exterior boiler, pumps and HVAC to be sanitized as well. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Business Administrator be authorized to submit the declaration of emergency to the Executive County Superintendent, having received prior approval.
