Ask the students what they see in the picture on the cover of No, David and make sure that each and every student gets a turn with looking at the cover individually. Ask students what they think will happen in the book based on the cover and then they go and depict that with a picture they draw.

Closure This objective helps lead into the second step which is discussing what we saw in the cover with the pictures we drew in a circle as a group (Comprehension).

If a particular student or group of students are struggling with the reading than contact the reading teacher to come and help with their learning how to read.

Materials There is going to be a need for multiple copies of No, David Then paper, markers, crayons, colored pencils etc.

Duration In order to complete this lesson two days are going to be needed.
