MANY-SIDED BREAD Wheat gluten present in bread is unique due to its ability to be elastic, bind water and form films that can be stabilized with heat. These properties render wheat gluten useful for the preparations of adhesives, coatings, polymers and resins. Welcome Bread & Salt

In various countries, bread and salt is traditionally given as a symbol of blessing for a new home. So what about a bread and salt service to send blessings to friends and family member who moved. Just order bread and salt online to your friends address. On top you can fill an online form to send certain informations which might be useful for your friend. The addressee will receive a loaf of nice fresh bread, salt plus a city map and further useful information. A personal message of the sender is not missing of course! There is also the option to order tickets for a local concert or to book e.g. an evening in a local fish restaurant ... for your friend. All this should make the newbie in town feel more home and welcome and give him/her/them a good start into a new episode of life!

BREAD AS A TEACHING TOOL Working on Fred the Bread ideas helped the Gdansk students to reframe the idea of teaching itself. They saw different loaves as stimulating objects to teach cultural differences, raising awareness of global problems like exclusion, poverty. They were inspired by our course. BREAD AS MEDICINE Given the universal nature of bread, it can be used as an effective medium to administer medication. Specific nutrients can be added to Bread or the composition of existing nutrients like Proteins can be increased to treat specific conditions among patients. In Australia, bread is being fortified with Iodine a critical nutrient especially among pregnant mothers. The deficiency of Iodine causes severe mental and physical impairments. Fortified bread can also be used to provide nutrients to children who refuse to take medication or eat vegetables, but may happily consume some tasty bread.

What if bread was a pet?
