Unit 6 CAN YOU PLAY THE GUITAR?

in studying english there are four skills, there are: speaking, listening, writing and reading skills that mastery the students. And we must use course book that including four skill in the material. We have any criterias on chosing coursebook to teach our student but in this discussion we just focus on the topic (content). And now in unit six on the book with the title can you play the guitar? we will analysize the content in this unit. Generally this unit is interesting unit to learn. it has many stongests, almost in the unit the point there is picture that make the student more interest and have motivation to learn in the class. The picture give many contributed in studying proses because with the picture can help student to remembering quickly esspecially in vocabularies. In this unit there are six point: vocabulary, conversation, language practice (grammar), pronounciaton, listening and enjoying english. The first is vocabulary in this point the instructional is matching between word and picture. The picture is clear so. The student easy to understanding and answer the question but the vocab is a few and there is some of word that no appropriate with theme, for examplcook, ride a bike, drive swim and use a computer. Should be the word has relation with the guitar, it is about art like: dance, sing, and play guitar. The second is conversation, the point is good because. First student analysize the picture ten there is dialog teks that is practiced by student with a parthner. And the student was given apportunity to pairwork and the student use them own idea to make conversation.the next is language practice it is about grammar and specifically in using word can and cant. discussion about it is varietis: completing sentences, completing the conversation with the patner and making questions. It is make student know using of can and cant. and was completed with the pronounciation. In the listening point base on with what need the beginer-intermedite student because in this listening just matching the sytement with the picture and the next section just give mark about true or false the statement. And the last point is enjoying english it is about skills survey, in this point the student can work I group and know about the other people it is a good way to make good relation between students in order to they enjoy in study. In this unit has weekness also. Base on the english skill (reding, speaking, reading and listening) here just speaking and listening skills there isnt. Actually, every

unit must there four skills in order to what need the students is balance.
