EDUCATION
As a part of the CSR initiative, Mr. V.B. Gadgil, Chief Executive & Managing Director, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited, distributed school bags and books to 600 school children from 1st to 5th standard in three Government schools. The vocational training institutes of the Larsen and Toubro Public Charitable Trust provide local communities with skill-based training in Formwork, Masonry, Agro Mechanics, Electricals, Fabrication, Welding and Housekeeping.

RESPONSE TO NATURAL CALAMITIES

L&T has assisted in disaster relief through employee and corporate donations, employee volunteering, supply of construction material, medical and food supplies. After the floods in Surat (Gujarat-India), L&T played a major role in road-clearing operations, organising medical camps, and supply of food, water, clothes and other relief materials

GREEN ENVIRONMENT
L&T, makes conscious efforts to maintain harmony with the environment. The Zero Discharge approach of the Powai Campus saves over 350,000 litres water everyday through water treatment and recycling. More than 13,500 trees have been planted in different L&T campuses in the last year, and an additional 4,000 saplings were distributed among local communities. They use environment-friendly approaches in their operations.

Newsweek Ranks L&T 4th Globally - in List of Greenest Industrial Companies

L&T Releases Policy for Protection of Womens Rights at Workplace

With increasing number of women entering L&T, the organisation has commitmented to provide a safe workplace for women to prevent sexual harassment at the workplace, and lays down the objectives, applicability, structure of committees and process for redress of complaints. Based on the laws of India, the Policy is applicable to all employees of L&T in India, irrespective of their level, rank or designation, across all departments, functions and operations. (Source:
