An Act Concerning: Maryland State Constitution - Article 37 of The Declaration of Rights FOR the purpose of removing all religious tests for state offices. By repealing, and re-enacting, with amendments Article 37 Maryland Constitution
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE MARYLAND STUDENT LEGISLATURE, That the Constitution of Maryland read as follows:

That no religious test ought ever to be required as a qualification for any office of profit or trust in this State, other than a declaration of belief in the existence of God; nor shall the Legislature prescribe any other oath of office than the oath prescribed by this Constitution Mandates: Governor Martin OMalley
