1.General

1.3 If sufficient number of candidates is not available of category 1 then eligible candidates from category 2 will be considered 1.4 The procedure to be followed for admission, eligibility of candidates, and reservation will be as per the directives from the AICTE/DTE

2.Eligibilty
2.1 For GATE category (Category 1) students valid GATE score is mandatory 2.2 Any candidate who is citizen of India and has passed an examination of four year Degree of Bachelor of Engineering/Technology of appropriate branch as per given below PG Course in Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Production Engineering Automobile Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering Telecommunication Engineering Computer Engineering Mechanical or Machine Tool or Automobile or Production Engineering or Electronics or Electronics & Telecommunication 2.3 For GATE category, the candidate must secure minimum 55% marks in qualifying bachelors degree 2.4 Candidates having bachelors degree other than Mumbai University has to obtained eligibility from University of Mumbai

3. Admission of GATE category candidates

3.1 Admission will be offered strictly according to merit list prepared on the basis of valid GATE score of the qualified candidates. 3.2 For candidates with equal GATE score 3.2.1, the preference will be given to the candidates who have passed final year examination 3.2.2 Percentage of marks in VII and VIII semester of bachelors degree will be taken into account 3.3 A candidate must have valid GATE score in the appropriate branch and eligibility criteria is as given in Sec. 2 3.4 Separate application should be submitted along with necessary application fee if a candidate is applying for more than one category 3.5 Candidates awaiting the results of the qualifying examination may also apply but their admission will be provisional till passing of qualifying Bachelor Degree in appropriate branch with minimum marks as per Sec. 2

4. Admission of Non-GATE Category Candidates

4.1 If sufficient number of GATE candidates is not available, Non-GATE candidates will be considered for the admission for vacant seats in the GATE category only 4.2 Candidates who have passed bachelors degree with first class as per Sec.2 will be eligible for admission as Non-GATE candidate 4.3 Admission procedure: 4.3.1 Candidate will be considered for admission on merit, based on total marks secured out of 100 as indicated below (i) Entrance Test Maximum 70 marks (ii) Interview Maximum 30 marks 4.3.2 The entrance test and interview shall be conducted by a panel of faculty of the college 4.3.4 Entrance test will be conducted on the basis of curriculum of under graduate programme of appropriate branch

5. Admission of sponsored category candidates

5.1 Candidates who posses Bachelors degree with first class in the respective or allied branch of technology as specified in Sec 2 are eligible for admission 5.2 A letter from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to seek admission to the post-graduate degree programme strictly in the format enclosed 5.3 The admission procedure will be same as in Sec. 4.3.

6. Scholarship
6.1 All the students who have qualified through GATE and admitted to M. E. programme, will be awarded PG Scholarship as per AICTE rules, provided that they fulfill the conditions prescribed by AICTE from time to time

6.2 The disbursement of scholarship amount shall depend upon the availability of funds from AICTE** 6.3 All the candidates admitted to M. E. programme under Non-GATE and Sponsored category will not be eligible for any scholarship or financial assistance

7. Admission Schedule
The date and time of entrance test, interview and admission schedule will be notified on the website from time to time.

8 Fee Structure
8.1 Mode of Payment of fees 8.1.1 Demand Draft/Pay Order should be in favor of The Principal K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering payable at Mumbai of Nationalized/Schedule bank 8.1.2 At the time of admission the candidate must bring the demand draft otherwise candidate of next merit number will be given preference and thus the offer of admission stands withdrawn 8.2 The fee structure for M. E. programme will be as given on website as per the recommendations of Shikshan Shulka Samiti in due course of time. 8.3 Along with application form, candidate should pay Rs.700 as per the mode of payment given in Sec.8.1.2

9. Cancellation of Admission and Refund of Fees:If a candidate cancels his/her admission, the refund of fees will be made as per the guide lines of AICTE/DTE rules

10. Notification regarding prevention of ragging

Candidate is expected to go through the notification published by AICTE regarding prevention and prohibition of ragging in technical institutions on its website www.aicte.ernet.in

11. &Declarations/Undertakings/Certificates
11.1 Sponsorship letter must be attached by the candidates of category three 11.2 Declaration by candidates whose results of qualifying examination is awaited 11.3 Declaration by GATE candidates regarding the scholarship
