Established Goals: National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers (NETS*T) I. Technology Operations and Concepts Teachers demonstrate a sound understanding of technology operations and concepts. Teachers: A. demonstrate introductory knowledge, skills, and understanding of concepts related to technology (as described in the ISTE National Educational Technology Standards for Students). B. Demonstrate continual growth in technology knowledge and skills to stay abreast of current and emerging technologies. II. Teachers will be able to do: Access various online Web 2.0 tools. Select appropriate Web 2.0 tools for specific situations. Explain why a certain Web 2.0 tool works for them The benefits of selecting appropriate technology.

Assessment Evidence
Performance Tasks: Examine a minimum of 30 Web 2.0 tools and applications. Select 15 tools that you feel best supports your curriculum Create a LiveBinder or Prezi to collect and analyze your chosen tools. Explain the reasoning behind your choices with each tool in your LiveBinder or Prezi. Other Evidence: Use of critical-thinking and inquiry skills to successfully complete assignment. Observed confidence in use of Web 2.0 tools.

Learning Plan
(The activities were completed when time permitted.) Begin class by asking and discussing, What is Web 2.0 and Why should we use it? Have group watch How will you teach me in the 21st Century, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvyP-cwpHN8&feature=player_embedded) and Web 2.0 in the classroom. (http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=ue1FeMBfKec&feature=player_embedded) Discuss reactions and relation to everyones classroom. Compare and Contrast Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 Focus on Web 2.0 definitions, terminology and examples. Continue discussion while explaining the purpose and goals of the unit. Begin with explaining Prezi through Prezi tutorial, then build example as a class follow with Livebinders tutorial Supply links to sites to assist with selecting 15 Web 2.0 tools. Upon completion of LiveBinders, have teachers begin building their own

individual LiveBinder with their chosen Web 2.0 tools. Teachers present their LiveBinders, explaining why they chose the Web 2.0 tools to include in binder. Have class complete self-reflection then share with class.
