State Senator Tony Avella Reaches Out to Members

As State Senator Avella seeks re-election, he not only asked for members support for his race but asked for support in important pieces of legislation. As budget cuts may force valuable societies such as Bayside Historical Society and Poppenhusen Institute to close, it is a wake up call for our elected officials to prioritize. State Senator Avella has proposed a lottery scratch off game to help fix the budget. Instead of using taxpayers money, money from this game would go right into the budget. State Senator Avella has also enforced to prevent illegal truck traffic and urged that the law must be obeyed by everyone.

Congressman Steve Israel Meets New Constituents

Congressman Steve Israel has served as a Long Island Congressman since 2001 but due to redistricting laws, he will represent part of Northeast Queens. As he seeks re-election on November 6, he explained the importance of this years election as it is critical for the middle class. Congressman Israel told a story of a gentleman who could not afford to donate to the Congressmans campaign but instead donated his fathers war bond from Guam. Congressman Israel noted that kind of dedication is what our country needs right now, and that dedication will be evident on Election Day. He added we all could do a little more to get our nation back on track.
