4 Supervision Duty
It is important that Duty should be an active process especially in the areas where often a very large number of students play. Ensure that play is safe and take action when you consider it necessary to ensure safe activities. To be on time, you may need to dismiss your class a minute or two early. You need to patrol the area of your particular duty and monitor the whole area as problems have arisen where this is not done. Changeover time for all lunchtime duties are (11:15 for secondary and 12:00 for elementary please note that for elementary the bell for Years 2, 3 and 4 lunch is 5 minutes before the duty change over time). If your duty is in the second part of lunch, please respect your colleagues by being punctual so that they too have time for a lunch break. If your Duty ends when students should return to class, then as soon as the bell is heard, you should make sure the students leave the area immediately. Persistent lateness to duty should be reported to a School Administrator. If your replacement does not arrive, contact or send a message to an Administrator or the Elementary/Secondary Office do not leave your duty area unattended. It is important to state that you have a duty scheduled if, at any time, you call in sick. If you are scheduled for any reason to be off timetable and your Duty falls within this time, then you must swap duty with another teacher and not seek cover for your scheduled duty. This particularly applies where you are called to an unscheduled meeting. In cases of Wet Weather or Lightning Threat teachers on Elementary duties should move to the following areas to supervise students in the building. For more details please refer to the Wet Weather Duty Policy for more details.

Main Field Duties: Two teachers are allocated to Field duty one teacher will cover the Khlong End of Main Field and the other will cover the Cafeteria End of the Main Field and Sports Centre. If rain starts to fall during the snack or Elementary lunch break, the two teachers on duty in the Main Field will make a joint decision as to whether play shall continue outside. Should these teachers decide it is too wet to remain outside or if the lightning meter sounds, they shall proceed to the elementary office where the announcement can be made. These teachers should monitor the weather and if the rain stops or lightening meter indicates it is safe to move out (an administrator will advise when it is safe), ask for the 'all clear' message to be given to students and teachers so that they can pack-up and the students move outside.

teachers decide it is too wet to remain outside or if the lightning meter sounds, they shall proceed to the elementary office where the announcement can be made. These teachers should monitor the weather and if the rain stops or lightening meter indicates it is safe to move out (an administrator will advise when it is safe), ask for the 'all clear' message to be given to students and teachers so that they can pack-up and the students move outside. When students in Years 2-6 are asked to be indoors, they will move immediately to their own classroom (not public shared areas) to take part in quiet classroom activities.
