SECTIO N -A Q .l Critically evaluate the following statements in about 200 words each: (a) "If the battle of Plassey had made the English a powerful factor in the politics o f Bengal, the victory o f Buxar made them a great power of India". (B) Trained by us to happiness and independence, and endowed with our learning and political institutions, India will remain the proudest monument o f British benevolence. (c) "Treaty o f Salbai was hardly honourable for British but it paved the way for the consolidation o f the British cm pi^

Q.2 (a) The English Utilitarianism had manifested in India as well but its form and content were entirely Colonial. Elucidate.

(b) The Subsidiary Alliance System was the British Trojan horse tactics in Empire building. Substantiate.
