LETTUCE

BROCCOLI & CAULIFLOWER

Lettuce markets have dropped. Quality is good with occasional instances of tip burn, lighter weights and decay as a result of hot temperatures and wind. The transition into Huron has begun.

in fruits are almost 100% sugar, therefore refractometers are widely used to check maturity in fruits. The number will be % of solids as sucrose.

Hot weather continues to drive Cauliflower and Broccoli production up. Markets are steady and quality is good on both commodities.

MELON HONEYDEW & CANTALOUPE

CELERY

Supplies are steady coming out of Santa Maria and Salinas. Michigan has finished.

Cantaloupe markets have strengthened. Due to production issues, supplies are limited especially on larger size melons. Honeydew supplies have tightened as well.

ONIONS

Good supplies and quality. Imports from Mexico are winding down.

Supplies are plentiful coming from the Northwest growing regions.

GREEN PEPPERS AND SQUASH

CITRUS LIMES

Markets are steady with good supplies and quality. Larger sizes are prevalent.

CITRUS ORANGES

Markets are stable. Valencia quality has weakened. Navels are expected to begin in 3-4 weeks. Florida juice Oranges have begun.

Green Pepper markets are steady with good supplies from Georgia. Quality is good Florida has begun. Yellow Squash supplies are light as a result of white fly affecting Georgia growing areas. Zucchini supplies are good coming out of northern Florida and Georgia.

RED PEPPERS

CUCUMBER & EGGPLANT

Cucumber markets have firmed as Georgia growing areas experience cooler weather, white fly and disease. Supplies are extremely tight. Florida will begin in two weeks. Eggplant supplies are good coming from Georgia and Florida.

Red Pepper markets have gained strength as supplies become lighter on the West Coast. Yellow Pepper markets are steady.

Green Grape and Red Grape markets have strengthened. Red Grape supplies continue to be affected by color issues. Green Grape and Red Globe supplies have tightened. Black Grapes are available for about another two weeks.
