PRAYER AND PRAISE

Please pray for Judy Miller as she prepares for open-heart surgery any day now. It is believed that she will need a triple-bypass surgery, which is no small matter! Pray for peace and comfort for Judy and her family, and a successful surgery! Please pray for God's hand of blessing in the establishment of two upcoming ministries: 'The Playroom' Cafe and the 'Mainly Music' program. Both of these ministries are slated to begin shortly after the Kindy opens, and their leadership needs God's wisdom, guidance, and favour. Praise the Lord for continued good interaction with Go Global Mali students after the English Experience week with the Daybreak team. Students continue to ask questions and request prayer.

NEWS
Stars Party at Westgate Baptist For years now, the combined Massey area churches have come together to bless the community with a community carnival called "Stars Party", and with over 2,000 people expected to come, we'll need some help! Volunteer sign up sheets will be made available in early October, but in the mean time, please be collecting good-quality used children's clothing for the clothing give-away. A box will be provided in the foyer.

Matthew 26:39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." There are some who approach prayer with a list of imperative sentences. God, I want you to do this. And when you get that done, heres another thing. And sorry for the reminder, but you forgot to get done the thing I asked for two days ago. I needed ityesterday. In Jesus name. Amen. Some even teach that praying with faith is telling God what you want, when you want it, and that you will not take no for an answer. Is praying your will be done a copout? Not according to Jesus. In the most intense prayer of his life (Luke tells us that his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground), Jesus emotionally expressed his desire, but concluded, Yet not as I will, but as you will. Prayer is a personal conversation with God. It is not a laundry list of imperatives. In the conversation with my Heavenly Father, I can and should express my personal desires just like Jesus did. And, just like Jesus did, I hand over my desires to the perfect will of God. By the way, thats not a copoutits calledobedience. Father, thank you for the privilege of bringing our desires before You. Thank You for allowing us to share our heart openly and honestly. But Father, we always want Your will done in our livesYour good, pleasing, and perfect will. In Jesus name. Amen.

If you would like to talk to or pray with an Elder, we encourage you to make yourself known to one of the I failed my marketing class Worship Team and they will assist you.

MINISTRIES FOR CHILDREN at WHAC

Ages 37 Ages 8 13 Our Kids Club is divided into two groups, for age appropriate lessons. These take place in the hall during the sermon. A notice will appear on the screen when it is time to dismiss your children.

When advertising a prayer ministry, you're supposed to use words like "power" or "warfare" or "a sweet and bless-ed time" to try to get people to come by emphasizing various (and legitimate) aspects of prayer. But, I'm horrible at marketing, instead friends: if you want to join the growing prayer movement at WHAC as we seek to move into the community to pray for them in intelligent ways, drawing them out of brokenness into wholeness in Christ, while submitting our church and ministry before the Lord for His empowerment and leading, please talk to Phil Ruston or Pastor Matt, and we'll get you connected. Picnic in the Paddock! On Saturday, 3rd November, plan to join the WHAC family at Tom and Esther McKean's farm from 5:30 for a Picnic in the Paddock! There will be activities for the kids and a big bon fire to finish the night - plus a designated area for you to bring and light up the night sky with your own fireworks! BIRTHDAYS COMING UP
