The Purafil Solution

Air is the biggest threat to the reliability of your electronics. The air in your facility contains many types of pollutants that corrode fine electronics and integrated circuits. Even the smallest traces of corrosion - those too small to see - can cause your electronic equipment to fail. So how do you prevent a problem you can't even see? Purafil has the solution: air purification systems that eliminate corrosive airborne pollutants. With a single circuit board costing as much as $10,000 or equivalent, an air purification system from Purafil can extend the life of your electronics, saving time and money. Purafil offers a variety of dry-scrubbing media and systems to protect all environments, from small cabinets to large control rooms.

Dry Chemical Media

At the heart of Purafil's air filtration systems are small, air-cleaning "pellets." These pellets, or media, contain chemical impregnants that trap and destroy pollutants. Purafil's media are non-toxic and non-hazardous as supplied, UL rated for non-flammability, and landfill disposable. Purafil's dry-chemical scrubbers are designed to meet each customer's unique specifications. When designing your system, experienced engineers from Purafil, Thermax or their associates consider the types and concentrations of contaminants present, your airflow requirements and space availability.

Purafil SP Media

A 12% sodium permanganate impregnated media designed to remove a wide variety of pollutants.

Puracarb Media
R

A 50/50 blend of Purafil SP Media and a premium grade activated carbon for the broadest control of pollutants. Ideal when space is limited.

Purafil SP Blend Media

R

A UL Classified, carbon-based media designed to remove corrosive hydrogen sulfide.

Equipment
Positive Pressurization Unit (PPU)
The PPU pressurizes the controlled space with clean air to prevent infiltration of contaminants.

Industrial Purafil Side Access System (IPSA)

Available in a variety of sizes, the IPSA filters moderate to high concentrations of acid gases in less polluted areas of the plants.

Tub Scrubber System (TSS)

The TSS offers a deep media bed for a high gas removal efficiency. Ideal for hostile environments.

Electronic Cabinet Unit (ECU)

Designed for side mounting, the ECU protects freestanding electronics from acid gases.

Corrosive-Aire System (CA)

The CA is a free-standing system designed to polish and recirculate air within the controlled space.

Deep Bed Scrubber (DBS)

The DBS sits outside the protected space and provides clean air to prevent corrosion of electronics, especially suited for harsh environments.

OnGuard 2000 Atmospheric Corrosion Monitor
The OnGuard 2000 helps solve corrosion problems before severe damage occurs. It continuously measures the real-time effects of corrosion as well as temperature, relative humidity and differential room pressure (optional). Using this data, the monitor projects your environment's ISA severity level and helps increase the reliability of electronic instruments.

A diversity in control room, rack room and motor control center configurations are usually variations of the following basic designs: Figure 1 Pressurization air is ducted into the room through the A/C to control humidity and temperature better. The recirculation air unit is an additional source of purification.
