A former coach and other Penn State officials were accused of sexually abusing young boys in the locker room. This changes my whole perspective of the school and raises doubts as to whether or not I should go there. Penn State has been known as an Ivy League school with great academic programs and athletics. However, Id rather stay in New York for my studies, considering that it is almost 5 hours away from home, and Id be spending a lot on transportation and commute. The recent scandal heard about in the news is another reason as to why Penn State wouldnt be a good choice for me. Itd be best to study at a school that is closer to home and has a better reputation.

College/Scholarship Essay -Person/Historical Figure who has had a major impact on my life Americas economy continues to thrive today despite the economic downfalls that we hear about in the media. Careers in business are highly pursued, where some of the most professional and well-paid jobs are in the business field. Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple Inc. is one of the most powerful and richest businesspeople in the world today and is an inspiration for anyone who wants to pursue a career in business. I started high school with the notion that I wanted to be involved in law and international studies. During my freshman year, I was deciding what studies I would be most interested in so that I could take the classes needed. During my sophomore year I began to have an idea of what I wanted to do. Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple Inc. was discussed in the media a lot during that time and I often read about him in Forbes magazine. After reading and hearing so much about him, I became interested in his success as an individual, and soon I was inspired. Seeing that Steve Jobs, who dropped out of college, was now a successful businessperson, I decided that I wanted to go into the business field. With Steve Jobs as my influence, I began to do an extensive research on careers in the business field. Steve Jobs company, Apple, is a leading company in the consumer technology world. He is also the CEO of Pixar Animation studios. His great success is what motivated me to be interested in business. The fact that one person could accomplish so much in their lifetime is what inspires me the most. It shows that we, as individuals, are capable of doing anything that we put our minds to. Steve Jobs once said, Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower. His leadership qualities are another factor that I respect and admire. Most of us want to be successful, but we have to work towards that success, even if it means failing a few times. Steve Jobs is the sole example of business success and has influenced me to work harder and to the best of my ability.
