Woodruff Church of God e-Edition Newsletter October 16, 2012

Pastors Notes: Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.. for all you did during our annual FallFest. Many, many people were involved in making FallFest a success and the words thank you seem inadequate, but hope that you will receive them from our heart. Without willing bodies giving of their time, talents and efforts, this mammoth task would not be possible. Whether you helped in getting the property ready, the setting up, the running of the day, the tearing down, clean up or whatever it was.THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I was so blessed to see a number of new faces joining in to help us this year. Some took Friday off and helped us with moving tables and chairs, prepping the property and other important tasks. Then on Saturday, new faces were working in booths and helping in other ways. This is the sign of a growing church. New faces in the congregation and new faces involved in ministry. OUR FUTURE IS BRIGHT AND OUR PRESENT IS BLESSED!!!!!!! Were still waiting on all the numbers to come in, but it looks like the total for both days (at least right now) is standing at $10,107.50. Last year, the weekend total was $9991.58. Expenses are still being calculated but without a doubt the weekend was a success!!!! Sunday afternoon, we gathered at 4:00 PM under the big tent for a time of worship. We sang old hymns, some choruses and took several opportunities to just verbally praise the Lord. We often are in such a hurry and speedily offer God some praise. Sunday afternoon, we just slowed down and took our time and just praised Him. What a beautiful expression of worship was offered to the Lord. We also took a prayer walk over our property. We asked for His continued favor on our congregation, His acceleration in making this process come to completion and for souls to be brought to His Kingdom through the ministry of Woodruff Church of God. Our VISION offering that afternoon stands at $7,222.11. Last years vision offering was $5669. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!! Woodruff Church of God Mission & Vision Statement While walking the property on Sunday afternoon, I kept reflecting on what we would be like when we get moved out there. The truth is, well be the same church, just in a different location. Our Mission & Vision never changes. We might have to alter our approach at times to make it happen, but what we are trying to accomplish will never change. This Mission/Vision statement

was adopted long before I was Pastor of this church. For those that might not be familiar with it, I want to list it here for you:

Mission Statement
Woodruff Church of Gods mission is to glorify God, proclaim the Gospel, win the lost, equip believers, keep the fire of revival burning and demonstrate Christs love to the world.

Core Values
Obedience to Gods Word: We accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God and it must
be the basis of our faith, worship and ministry. In order to please God, we must live and serve in obedience to His Word.

Prayer: We believe that prayer is essential to effective ministry. Prayer is cooperation with
God in relation to His great scheme of salvation for all men. By praying as a church and as individual Christians, we acknowledge that we are depending upon God to enable us in our ministry.

Holy Spirit Direction: We covet the infilling and anointing of the Holy Spirit in our lives
individually and in the church collectively. We know that effective ministry cannot take place without the direction and enablement of Gods Spirit in the church.

People: People are our business. We accept that the primary purpose of this church is to win
lost people and bring them to maturity in Christ. We believe that Jesus died to save all people regardless of their racial, social or economic standing. We are, therefore, committed to extend Christs love, acceptance and forgiveness to all.

Believer Mobilization According To Gifts: We are committed to bringing believers to

maturity in Christ, assisting them in the discovery of their spiritual gifts and equipping them for works of ministry within the church and to the world at large for the glory of God.

Revival and Harvest: We accept the responsibility the Lord has placed upon us to be a
leader in the movement of Revival. We will stay the course without regard to cost or consequences. We will not rest until we have reached every lost soul and restored everyone who has fallen away.

After I became pastor, I preached a 4 week series taking those concepts and putting them in an acrostic to be used in helping us remember our mission & vision. I want to give you that as well

What does T.H.A.T Church Mean?

T stands for TOGETHER.
1. We are a together church about what we believe about Jesus. He is Gods Son and the only way for salvation to get to God the Father. 2. Were together about our purpose. God has given us a specific task to do.go into all the world and make disciples. 3. We together about Gods promises to us, both from the Word of God and from the words spoken to us by the Holy Ghost.

H stands for HUNGRY.

1. We are hungry for God Himself. Hearing about Him and reading about Him wont do. We are hungry from a fresh touch of God now. 2. We are hungry for Gods Word. We know that the Word of God is living, active and effective. 3. We are hungry for Revival. We are looking for a fresh outpouring of His spirit. A little dab or trickle wont suffice. WE WANT REVIVAL! 4. We are hungry for home. All Gods children are looking for the day when we can be with the Lord for all eternity. Its not a dreaded place but a place we long to go.

A stands for ANOINTED.

1. We are anointed to be the fragrance of the Lord to the lost world. 2 Corinthians 2:15 says we are unto God a sweet savor of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish. 2. We are anointed to be filled with life and energy. The world doesnt need dead and lifeless Christians. They need people with life and energy, able to help them in their life situations. 3. We are anointed to battle. We are called to fight against principalities and powers. This doesnt happen by unprepared people. Anointed people are people ready to fight! 4. We are anointed to show weve been consecrated for His service. The act of anointing in the O.T. was done to show that whatever was anointed was set aside for a specific use. We, the people of God, are set apart for the usage of God.

T stands for TARGETED.

1. We are targeted for growth. Anything living should be growing. We are a living, vibrant church. Because of that, we believe God will give increase to our body. 2. We are targeted for relocation. God has already led the way for us to secure new property with a plan to relocate our church. God know the future and the timing for that move. 3. We are targeted for expansion. This probably is not a reference to buildings and lands, but in expanding in ministry, visibility, usability. Jabez prayed that God would expand his territory. That is our prayer as well.

This coming Sunday we will be partaking of Holy Communion. This is a special time for believers as we participate in a time of consecration and remembrance of the Lords sacrifice for us. Please spend time in prayer before coming to church on Sunday morning and preparing ourselves to be a holy vessel.

WEIGH TO GO is a Christian Weight Loss Support group. WEIGH TO GO is a place where we as Christians come together to encourage each other and to explore what GOD and His word says about weight loss and weight related issues. Our bodies are sanctuaries and temples of GOD and we should treat them accordingly. WEIGH TO GO is open to all diets, eating disorders, and food addictions. So come and join us in this life changing journey. WEIGH TO GO meets every Tuesday at 6pm for optional weigh in and meeting to follow at 6:30pm. We meet in the classrooms underneath the main sanctuary. The entrance to the classrooms is located in the alley between the main church and youth building. So come and join us in our journey to improve our health and GOD'S Holy temples. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!! Hispanic Ministries
I would like to take a moment to thank god for the growth of woodruff Iglesia de Dios. You might not believe me but the people you see in the pictures came because, someone told them about us. I have gone out with Rev. Ball and Rev. Burgos to visit the Hispanic in woodruff but no one has come to our church. When we started to have service in the back, we had an outpouring of visitors. God is bringing the people to the church, I am doing my part but he is bringing everyone together to form a beautiful Hispanic church. Please do not miss understand me I still have to go out and let the people know what God is doing in our church and I still have to do my part. I realize as long as I am faithful to God he is faithful to the church and me. Praise god thats worth shouting about!!!! God bless and please keep the Hispanic church in your prayers.
