The saddles shall be in contact with the bottom of the pipe along an arc of at least 120 degrees. Pipe shall be secured by the use of padded ties. A saddle, as described above, may be used to support bevel sections, as required. 4. Except for operations which involve the placing of the shop applied cement mortar lining, the pipe shall not be rolled at any time after the coating is applied, including storage, transportation, or installation. Pipe which is accidentally rolled or dropped shall be separated from other pipe, and the inspectors acceptance stamp shall be removed or painted over. The pipe may be reinspected and accepted, accepted after repair, or rejected in conformance with these specifications. 5. After the mortar lining has cured, and prior to the removal of external bracing, internal bracing shall be placed in the pipe to prevent the maximum and minimum diameter, at any point, from deviating more than 0.5 percent from the nominal diameter. Each pipe section shall be braced at three locations. Sufficient bearing surface shall be provided at the ends of the braces inside the pipe, to protect the mortar lining. Braces shall remain in place until the pipe section is stulled or backfilled.
