English 307 Assignment:

Unit 4: Reflective Report & Evaluations

To mark the end of your work on your client deliverable(s) and engage in some reflective learning, you will develop a reflective report, write a thank-you e-mail, and complete peer- and self-evaluations based upon your participation in this semester-long project. The deliverables for this unit include: reflective report (individual), thank you email (collaborative), and peer and self evaluations.

In this overview, you will find all information that you need to complete Unit 4, including required readings and recommended resources. If you have any questions about deadlines, please refer to the course calendar. If you have any questions about using the materials located on this page, feel free to contact me (londiem@email.arizona.edu).

What do I include in my reflective report?

You should use information found in the readings and the following prompts to guide your reflective report development. your experiences and reflections on unit 1 What issues came up for you in your rsum and job analysis? What other areas of your professional inventory do you intend to work on? Why do you see those areas as significant to your future role as a professional? What goals have you set for yourself in terms of your professional development? your experiences and reflections on unit 2 In what ways did your field research influence your decisions about your client proposal? How did you establish client rapport? What led you to propose the development of the deliverable(s) identified in your proposal? How did your team approach its work together with your client? What adjustment, if any, did you make in terms of the plan and/or development of your proposal? your experiences and reflections on unit 3 How did you pursue the development of your deliverable(s)? What adjustment, if any, did you make in the plan and/or development of your deliverable(s)? How did you maintain the client-consultant relationship? What did you learn about yourself as a professional from working as a consultant? What did you learn from this project that you might not have expected to learn? What else would you like to discuss in terms of your experiences during the project?

For your reflective report, you should determine the best layout, design, and even medium. I want this report to be as reflective of your experiences as possible, in terms not only of content but also in delivery. You might choose a more traditional report format (i.e., a memo or a business letter) or something less conventional, such as a web page. I encourage you to speak with me about your report if you have any questions, concerns, and/or ideas that you want to share prior to your drafting process or even during it.

What do we include in our thank-you e-mail?

In order to demonstrate your appreciation for your clients participation in the project, you and your team member(s) will create an e-mail of thanks. This e-mail should specifically explain how the client helped you in this project and what you learned from working with him or her. As your client-consultant relationship is coming to an end, your message should leave the client feeling rewarded by your interactions. You will first draft this e-mail in a Word document, and then send the final revision at the end of the semester after you have completed any revisions to the deliverable(s). Remember: Do not send the email to your client. You can address the email to your client, but send it to me: londiem@email.arizona.edu

How do I draft my peer- and self-evaluations?

Part of your work in reflecting on this projects progress is assessing your own contributions and the contributions of your peers. I have provided a Peer and Self Evaluation Form on D2L. Download it, fill it out, and email it to me before the last day of class (June 4). If you want to attach any other documents to your assessment, please feel free to do so. Be certain, however, that your discussion is marked by professionalism and serious evaluation.
