Short Meeting; Election of Directors; Presentation by local attorney and author, Lisa Livingston-Martin featuring her book, Haunted Joplin. Lisa graduated from Missouri State University with a B.S. in Political Science, and a J.D. from Washington University Law School in St. Louis. She has practiced law in southwest Missouri for more than 20 years. Lisa is also a co-team leader of Paranormal Science Lab, which focuses on paranormal research at historic sites. She also authored Civil War Ghosts of Southwest Missouri and will soon release Missouris Wicked Route 66. Dont miss this unique opportunity! BRING A FRIEND, SPOUSE OR NEIGHBOR ! Celebrating Historic Preservation Month, Paula Callihan & Nancy Morton acted as docents while guiding 60 LiveSmart walkers past historic homes on Sergeant and Moffet Avenues. Event was in conjunction with the May Third Thursday Joplin Downtown Alliance.

The City of Joplin and the Citys Historic Preservation Commission undertook a historic architectural survey of houses between West First Street, South Pearl Avenue, South Sergeant Avenue, and West Seventh Street. The next step is to secure the funding needed to nominate the area to the National Register of Historic Places. Our mission is to implement charitable and educational activities that promote and stimulate historic preservation throughout the neighborhood.
