Business Benefits
z Best practice, fully auditable process for engineering information change management z Increased assurance of information integrity and regulatory compliance z Significant cost savings from reduced checking of information for Work Orders z Better-informed decision making, leading to greater efficiency in both routine asset operations and brownfield projects z Accessibility and maintenance of the true as-built status of an asset z Reduced operating risk
Overview
Throughout an assets working life, both in normal operations and during projects such as modifications or legacy data clean-up exercises, many different users need to access and change technical information that originates from a variety of sources. Not only must this information remain both accurate and available, it must be maintained so by the rigorous control of any changes made to it. Achieving this requires standardised tools, business processes and procedures for controlling changes to information and synchronising them across multiple business systems. Failure to maintain full control of information changes will layer errors upon errors, exponentially degrading the information assets and compromising the efficiency, safety and security of asset operations. Routine tasks then require excessive effort to verify the required information; projects are hindered by rework and delays, and effective incident response can be severely compromised. AVEVA Change Manager enables Owner Operators to optimise, control and monitor their change management process for all technical information. Combined with AVEVA NET, the solution highlights information changes to its users, enabling better-informed decision making. Implemented as a combined solution with AVEVA NET Gatekeeper, users are able to validate new and legacy data against configurable, predefined information standards before making controlled updates using AVEVA Change Manager. By assuring information integrity, AVEVA Change Manager delivers increased operational efficiency and regulatory compliance on all types of plants.
