San Andreas: Multiplayer Project Fort Carson Roleplay Server # INTERNAL DOCUMENT # SUBJECT: Hybrid Faction Discussion, RS Haul
new discussion and prompted some more input from everyone else as a whole. Here is the list of both penguin2254s ideas and the other ideas that have been mentioned (not listed in any particular order): Remove the fuel trailers and use box trailers instead o sparked the idea for no trailers at all, and instead vehicles like the boxville and yankee subsequent post mentioned new faction style like UPS or FedEx subsequent post mentioned custom mod pack for UPS/Fedex which would also boost player interest in the faction Force players to unload cargo from trailer (or truck) via script and SAMP or single player objects (Colonel Furburgers Robbery mission contains a decent crate object that might be able to be lifted in SAMP) Create NPC truck dispatchers (CONTEXT: dispatcher for this faction would mean guy with a binder at a desk saying deliver this to here, nothing at all like an emergency services dispatcher) o These NPCs would display a menu when launched to assign or complete missions. Any events, such as a server crash, glitch or bug, or other similar unplanned issue that arises can be handled quickly and easily by server staff with simple mission reset commands available to staff. Players must be able to drive. Checks will be performed to ensure this.
# WHAT ARE OUR OPTIONS BASED ON THESE IDEAS? (tl;dr) Based solely on the discussion in the staff area right now, if the RS Haul faction were to be recreated using the HFS, the most likely outcome would look something like this: Entirely new faction codebase New set of vehicles for transport of cargo (either box trailers or smaller commercial vehicles/vans) Possible UPS/FedEx mission set New RS Haul headquarters (addition to map currently in by Sam to allow for an interior world) Missions are structured and assigned to players by an NPC foreman/dispatcher and menus Roleplay is forced; players will unload cargo. Payment system is revised; partial payment at time of arrival at destination, full payment once vehicle is returned to headquarters. (and maybe after player reports back to NPC foreman/dispatcher?) Driving ability requirements: NPC foreman/dispatcher script will check the OOC player file (on the server) to see if a player has successfully completed the driving exam without 5 or more failures. The script will check the player file to see if a license is currently present on the player or if it has been revoked. If any conflicts are found, the script will then give the proper instructions to the NPC to deny the player from accessing any missions. At the same time, the NPC will refer the player to the Bone County Sheriffs Office Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division** to resolve the issue. Administrative restriction check: NPC foreman/dispatcher script will check the OOC player file (on the server) to see if the player has been flagged by staff for any issue. An SSINFO alert will be posted for L5S+ and the player will also be told to send a /report. The player will also be told that if he/she does not receive a response within 10 minutes from staff, they must post a thread on the forums in the proper area if they wish to resolve the issue. Until a staff member removes the flag, the player will be denied access to any missions.
** marks an idea that was devised at the time of writing and has not yet received any group feedback. It should be assumed that the idea is already in place, but it does not in any way mean that it will become part of the server at any time. ** - Bone County Sheriffs Office Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division this is a division within the BCSD that would be created as an attachment to the RS Haul Hybrid Faction foundation. This division would not require any new manpower in the department. Taking into consideration the fact that nearly all members in the BCSD faction are also staff members, it would be possible for deputies/admins to roleplay a deputy who focuses primarily on commercial vehicle traffic enforcement (although they can still respond to other calls and act as a regular deputy). They would be
tasked with standard patrol in (typically) a large vehicle (fbiranch, ranger, etc.) and will perform traffic duties, searching for as much flaw within a CV as possible. CV stops can include the roleplay of cargo searches, manifest checks, and field inspections of the vehicle, just to list a few examples. CVE can also respond to any MVA for roleplaying the investigation. This should be required if there is a fatality/CK. Should this proposal be approved, if NicolaiB allows this, I (penguin2254) could take control of CVE seeing as how it is directly related to RS Haul and penguin2254 is also an HFS manager (L5) and also in the BCSD.
