Significance of the animals

2:205 When He turns His back, His aim everywhere is to spread mischief through the earth and destroy crops and cattle. But Allah loveth not mischief. 3:14 18,46 Fair In the eyes of men is the love of things They covet: women and sons; Heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. such are the possessions of This world's life; but In nearness to Allah is the best of the goals (to return to). 4:119 "I will mislead them, and I will create In them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created by Allah." Whoever, forsaking Allah, takes Satan for a friend, hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest. 5:1 O ye who believe! fulfil (all) obligations. lawful unto you (for food) are all four-footed animals, with the exceptions named: but animals of the chase are forbidden while ye are In the sacred precincts or In pilgrim garb: for Allah doth command according to His will and plan. 5:2 O ye who believe! Violate not the sanctity of the Symbols of Allah, nor of the sacred month, nor of the animals brought for sacrifice, nor the garlands that mark out such animals, nor the people resorting to the sacred house, seeking of the bounty and good pleasure of their Lord. but when ye are Clear of the sacred precincts and of pilgrim garb, ye may hunt and let not the hatred of some people In (once) shutting you out of the sacred Mosque lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). help ye one another In righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another In sin and rancour: fear Allah. for Allah is strict In punishment.

5:3 Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name of other than Allah. that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly) eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form); that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden) also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. This Day have those who reject Faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This Day have I perfected your Religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam As your religion. but if any is forced by hunger, with no inclination to transgression, Allah is indeed Oftforgiving, Most Merciful. 5:4 They ask Thee what is lawful to them (as food). say: lawful unto you are (all) things good and pure: and what ye have taught your trained hunting animals (to catch) In the manner directed to you by Allah. eat what They catch for you, but pronounce the name of Allah over it: and fear Allah. for Allah is swift In taking account. 5:5 This Day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. the food of the people of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you In marriage) are (Not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the people of the Book, revealed before your time,- when ye give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues if any one rejects Faith, fruitless is His work, and In the Hereafter He will be In the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good). 5:95 O ye who believe! kill not game while In the sacred precincts or In pilgrim garb. if any of you doth so intentionally, the compensation is an offering, brought to the Ka'ba, of a domestic animal equivalent to the one He killed, As adjudged by two just men among you; or by way of atonement, the feeding of the indigent; or its equivalent In fasts: that He may taste of the penalty of His deed. Allah forgives what is past: for repetition Allah will exact from Him the penalty. for Allah is Exalted, and Lord of Retribution. 5:97 Allah made the Ka'ba, the sacred house, an asylum of security for men, As also the sacred Months, the animals for offerings, and the garlands that mark them: that ye may know that Allah hath knowledge of what is In the heavens and on earth and that Allah is well acquainted with all things. 5:103 It was not Allah who instituted (superstitions like those of)

a slit-ear she- camel, or a she-camel let loose for free pasture, or idol sacrifices for twin-births In animals, or stallion-camels freed from work: it is blasphemers who invent a lie against Allah. but Most of them lack wisdom. 6:38 There is not an animal (That lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. nothing have we omitted from the Book, and They (all) shall be gathered to their Lord In the end. 6:136 Out of what Allah hath produced In abundance In tilth and In cattle, They assigned Him a share: They say, according to their fancies: "This is for Allah, and this" - for Our "partners"! but the share of their" partners "reacheth not Allah, whilst the share of Allah reacheth their "partners" ! evil (and unjust) is their assignment! 6:138 And They say that such and such cattle and crops are taboo, and none should eat of them except those whom - so They say we wish; further, there are cattle forbidden to yoke or burden, and cattle on which, (at slaughter), the name of Allah is not pronounced; - inventions against Allah.s name: soon will He requite them for their inventions. 6:139 They say: "What is In the wombs of such and such cattle is specially reserved (for food) for Our men, and forbidden to Our women; but if it is still-born, then all have share therein. for their (false) attribution (of superstitions to Allah., He will soon punish them: for He is full of wisdom and knowledge. 6:142 Of the cattle are some for burden and some for meat: eat what Allah hath provided for you, and follow not the footsteps of Satan: for He is to you and avowed enemy. 6:143 (take) eight (head of cattle) In (four) pairs: of sheep a pair, and of goats a pair; say, hath He forbidden the two males, or the two females, or (the young) which the wombs of the two females enclose? Tell me with knowledge if ye are truthful: 6:146 For those who followed the Jewish Law, we forbade every (animal) with undivided hoof, and we forbade them that fat of the ox and the sheep, except what adheres to their backs or their entrails, or is mixed up with a bone: This In recompense for their wilful disobedience: for we are true (in Our ordinances). 7:179 Many are the Jinns and men we have made for Hell: They have

hearts wherewith They understand not, eyes wherewith They see not, and ears wherewith They Hear not. They are like cattle,111 nay more misguided: for They are heedless (of warning). 10:24 The likeness of the life of the present is As the rain which we send down from the skies: by its mingling arises the produce of the earth- which Provides food for men and animals: (it grows) till the earth is clad with its golden ornaments and is decked out (in beauty): the people to whom it belongs think They have all powers of disposal over it: there reaches it Our command by night or by Day, and we make it like a harvest clean-mown, As if it had not flourished only the Day before! Thus do we explain the Signs In detail for those who reflect 11:98 He will go before His people on the Day of Judgment, and lead them into the Fire (as cattle are led to water): but woeful indeed will be the place to which They are led! 16:5 And cattle He has created for you (men): from them ye derive warmth, and numerous benefits, and of their (meat) ye eat. 16:8 And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He has created (other) things of which ye have no knowledge. 16:10 It is He who Sends down rain from the sky: from it ye drink, and out of it (grows) the vegetation on which ye feed your cattle. 16:66 And Verily In cattle (too) will ye find an instructive sign. from what is within their bodies between excretions and blood, we produce, for your drink, milk, pure and agreeable to those who drink it. 16:80 It is Allah who made your habitations homes of rest and for you; and made for you, out of the skins of animals, (tents for) dwellings, which find so light (and handy) when ye travel and when ye stop (in your travels); and out of wool, and their soft fibres (Between wool and hair), and their hair, rich stuff and of convenience (to serve you) for a time. 19:86 And we shall drive the sinners to Hell, like thirsty cattle driven down to water,20:54 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: Verily, In This are Signs for men endued with understanding.

22:18 Seest Thou not that to Allah bow down In worship all things that are In the heavens and on earth,- the sun, the moon, the stars; the hills, the trees, the animals; and a great number among mankind? but a great number are (also) such As are fit for punishment: and such As Allah shall disgrace,- none can raise to honour: for Allah carries out all that He wills. 22:28 "That They may witness the benefits (provided) for them, and celebrate the name of Allah, through the days appointed, over the cattle which He has provided for them (for sacrifice): then eat ye thereof and feed the distressed ones In want. 22:30 Such (Is the Pilgrimage): Whoever honours the sacred rites of Allah, for Him it is good In the sight of His Lord. lawful to you (for food In Pilgrimage) are cattle, except those mentioned to you (as exception): but shun the abomination of idols, and shun the word that is false,22:32 Such (Is His state): and Whoever holds In honour the Symbols of Allah, (in the sacrifice of animals), such (honour) should come truly from piety of heart. 22:34 To every people did we appoint rites (of sacrifice), that They might celebrate the name of Allah over the sustenance He gave them from animals (fit for food). but your Allah is one Allah. submit then your wills to Him (in Islam): and give Thou the good news to those who humble themselves, 22:36 The sacrificial camels we have made for you As among the Symbols from Allah. In them is (much) good for you: then pronounce the name of Allah over them As They line up (for 226 sacrifice): when They are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such As (beg not but) live In contentment, and such As beg with due humility: Thus have we made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful. 22:37 It is not their meat nor their blood, that reaches Allah. it is your piety that reaches him: He has Thus made them subject to you, that ye may glorify Allah for His guidance to you and proclaim the good news to all who do right. 23:21

And In cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies we produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, In them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; 231 and of their (meat) ye eat; 23:22 An on them, As well As In ship 24:45 And Allah has created every animal from water: of them there are some that creep on their bellies; some that walk on two legs; and some that walk on four. Allah creates what He wills for Verily Allah has power over all things. 25:44 Or thinkest Thou that Most of them listen or understand? They are only like cattle;- Nay, They are worse astray In path. 25:49 That with it we may give life to a dead land, and slake the thirst of things we have created,- cattle and men In great numbers. 26:133 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,32:27 And do They not see that we do drive rain to parched soil (bare of herbage), and produce therewith crops, providing food for their cattle and themselves? have They not the vision? 35:28 And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are They of various colours. those truly fear Allah, among His servants, who have knowledge: for Allah is Exalted In Might, OftForgiving. 36:71 See They not that it is we who have created for them - among the things which Our hands have fashioned - cattle, which are under their dominion?36:72 And that we have subjected them to their (use)? of them some do carry them and some They eat: 36:73 And They have (other) profits from them (besides), and They get (milk) to drink. will They not then be grateful? 39:6 He created you (all) from a single person: then created, of like nature, His mate; and He sent down for you eight head of cattle In pairs: He makes you, In the wombs of your mothers, In stages, one after another, In three veils of darkness. such is Allah, your Lord and Cherisher: to Him belongs (all) Dominion. there is no god but He: then How are ye turned away (from your true Centre)? 40:79 It is Allah who made cattle for you, that ye may use some for

riding and some for food; 40:80 And there are (other) advantages In them for you (besides); that ye may through them attain to any need (there may be) In your hearts; and on them and on ships ye are carried. 40:81 And He shows you (always) His Signs: then which of the Signs of Allah will ye deny? 42:11 (He is) the Creator of the heavens and the earth: He has made for you pairs from among yourselves, and pairs among cattle: by This means does He multiply you: there is nothing whatever like unto him, and He is the one that hears and sees (All things). 43:12 That has created pairs In all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 43:13 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him who has subjected these to Our (use), for we could never have accomplished This (by ourselves), 45:4 And In the creation of yourselves and the fact that animals are scattered (through the earth), are Signs for those of assured Faith. 47:12 Verily Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow; while those who reject Allah will enjoy (this world) and eat As cattle eat; and the Fire will be their abode. 48:25 They are the ones who denied Revelation and hindered you from the sacred Mosque and the sacrificial animals, detained from reaching their place of sacrifice. had there not been believing men and believing women whom ye did not know that ye were trampling down and on whose account a crime would have accrued to you without (your) knowledge, ((Allah) would have allowed you to force your way, but He held back your hands) that He may admit to His Mercy whom He will. if They had been apart, we should certainly have punished the unbelievers among them with a grievous punishment. 54:31 For we sent against them a single mighty Blast, and They became like the dry stubble used by one who pens cattle. 79:33 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 80:32 For use and convenience to you and your cattle.

Camel, ship, ox, donkey, ass, horse, mules, Ox 6:144 Of camels a pair, and oxen a pair; say, hath He forbidden the two males, or the two females, or (the young) which the wombs of the two females enclose? - were ye present when Allah ordered you such a thing? but who doth more wrong than one who invents a lie against Allah, to lead astray men without 94 knowledge? for Allah guideth not people who do wrong. 6:146 For those who followed the Jewish Law, we forbade every (animal) with undivided hoof, and we forbade them that fat of the ox and the sheep, except what adheres to their backs or their entrails, or is mixed up with a bone: This In recompense for their wilful disobedience: for we are true (in Our ordinances). Horse and mules 3:14 18,46 Fair In the eyes of men is the love of things They covet: women and sons; Heaped-up hoards of gold and silver; horses branded (for blood and excellence); and (wealth of) cattle and well-tilled land. such are the possessions of This world's life; but In nearness to Allah is the best of the goals (to return to). 16:8 And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He has created (other) things of which ye have no knowledge. Donkey 2:259 Or (take) the similitude of one who passed by a hamlet, all In ruins to its roofs. He said: "Oh! How shall Allah bring it (ever) to life, after (this) its death?" but Allah caused Him to die for a hundred years, then raised Him up (again). He said: "How long Didst Thou tarry (thus)?" He said: (Perhaps) a Day or part of a Day." He said: "Nay, Thou hast tarried Thus a hundred years; but look at Thy food and Thy drink; They Show no Signs of age; and look at Thy donkey: and that we may make of Thee a Sign unto the people, look further at the bones, How we bring them together and clothe them with flesh." when This was shown clearly to him, He said: "I know that Allah hath power over all things."

16:8 And (He has created) horses, mules, and donkeys, for you to ride and use for show; and He has created (other) things of which ye have no knowledge. 62:5 The similitude of those who were charged with the (obligations of the) Mosaic Law, but who subsequently failed In those (obligations), is that of a donkey which carries huge tomes (But understands them not). evil is the similitude of people who falsify the Signs of Allah. and Allah guides not people who do wrong. Ship 2:164 Behold! In the creation of the heavens and the earth; In the alternation of the night and the day; In the sailing of the ships through the ocean for the profit of mankind; In the rain which Allah Sends down from the skies, and the life which He gives therewith to an earth that is dead; In the beasts of all kinds that He scatters through the earth; In the change of the winds, and the clouds which They Trail like their slaves between the sky and the earth;- (Here) indeed are Signs for a people that are wise. 10:22 He it is who enableth you to traverse through land and sea; so that ye Even board ships;- They sail with them with a favourable wind, and They rejoice thereat; then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and They think They are being overwhelmed: They cry unto Allah, sincerely offering (their) duty unto Him saying, "If Thou dost deliver us from this, we shall truly Show Our gratitude!" 14:32 It is Allah who hath created the heavens and the earth and sendeth down rain from the skies, and with it bringeth out Fruits wherewith to feed you; it is He who hath made the ships subject to you, that They may sail through the sea by His command; and the rivers (also) hath He made subject to you. 16:14 It is He who has made the sea subject, that ye may eat thereof flesh that is fresh and tender, and that ye may extract therefrom ornaments to wear; and Thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah and that ye may be grateful. 17:66 Your Lord is He that maketh the Ship go smoothly for you through the sea, In order that ye may seek of His bounty. for He is unto you Most Merciful.

22:65 Seest Thou not that Allah has made subject to you (men) all that is on the earth, and the ships that sail through the sea by His command? He withholds the sky (rain) from failing on the earth except by His leave: for Allah is Most kind and Most Merciful to man. 23:22 An on them, As well As In ship, ye side. 30:46 Among His Signs is this, that He Sends the winds, As heralds of glad tidings, giving you a taste of His (Grace and) Mercy, that the ships may sail (majestically) by His command and that ye may seek of His bounty: In order that ye may be grateful. 31:31 Seest Thou not that the ships sail through the ocean by the Grace of Allah.- that He may Show you of His Signs? Verily In This are Signs for all who constantly persevere and give thanks. 35:12 Nor are the two bodies of flowing water alike,- the one palatable, sweet, and pleasant to drink, and the other, salt and bitter. yet from Each (kind of water) do ye eat flesh fresh and tender, and ye extract ornaments to wear; and Thou seest the ships therein that plough the waves, that ye may seek (thus) of the bounty of Allah that ye may be grateful. 37:140 When He ran away (Like a slave from captivity) to the Ship (fully) laden, 40:80 And there are (other) advantages In them for you (besides); that ye may through them attain to any need (there may be) In your hearts; and on them and on ships ye are carried. 42:32 And among His Signs are the ships, smooth-running through the ocean, (tall) As mountains. 43:12 That has created pairs In all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 45:12 It is Allah who has subjected the sea to you, that ships may sail through it by His command, that ye may seek of His bounty, and that ye may be grateful. 55:24 And His are the ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty As Mountains: Camel 5:103

It was not Allah who instituted (superstitions like those of) a slit-ear she- camel, or a she-camel let loose for free pasture, or idol sacrifices for twin-births In animals, or stallion-camels freed from work: it is blasphemers who invent a lie against Allah. but Most of them lack wisdom. 6:144 Of camels a pair, and oxen a pair; say, hath He forbidden the two males, or the two females, or (the young) which the wombs of the two females enclose? - were ye present when Allah ordered you such a thing? but who doth more wrong than one who invents a lie against Allah, to lead astray men without 94 knowledge? for Allah guideth not people who do wrong. 7:40 To those who reject Our Signs and treat them with arrogance, no opening will there be of the gates of heaven, nor will They enter the garden, until the camel can pass through the eye of the needle: such is Our reward for those In sin. 7:73 To the Thamud people (We sent) Salih, one of their own brethren: He said: "O My people! worship Allah. ye have no other god but Him. Now hath come unto you a Clear (sign) from your Lord! This she-camel of Allah is a Sign unto you: so leave Her to graze In Allah.s earth, and let Her come to no harm, or ye shall be seized with a grievous punishment. 7:77 Then They ham-strung the she-camel, and insolently defied the order of their Lord, saying: "O Salih! bring about Thy threats, if Thou art an apostle (of Allah.!" 11:64 "And O My people! This she-camel of Allah is a symbol to you: leave Her to feed on Allah.s (free) earth, and inflict no harm 145 on her, or a swift penalty will seize you!" 12:65 Then when They opened their baggage, They found their stockintrade had been returned to them. They said: "O Our father! what (more) can we desire? This Our stock-in-trade has been returned to us: so we shall get (more) food for Our family; we shall take care of Our brother; and add (at the same time) a full camel's load (of grain to Our provisions). This is but a small quantity. 12:72 They said: "We miss the great beaker of the king; for Him who produces it, is (the reward of) a camel load; I will be bound by it." 17:59

And we refrain from sending the Signs, only because the men of former generations Treated them As false: we sent the shecamel to the Thamud to open their eyes, but They Treated Her wrongfully: we only send the Signs by way of terror (and warning from evil). 22:27 "And proclaim the Pilgrimage among men: They will come to Thee on foot and (mounted) on every kind of camel, lean on account of journeys through deep and distant mountain highways; 22:36 The sacrificial camels we have made for you As among the Symbols from Allah. 26:155 He said: "Here is a she-camel: she has a right of watering, and ye have a right of watering, (severally) on a Day appointed. 54:27 For we will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. so watch them, (o Salih), and possess Thyself In patience! 56:55 "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!" 59:6 What Allah has bestowed on His Messenger (and taken away) from them - for This ye made no expedition with either cavalry or camelry: but Allah gives power to His apostles over any He pleases: and Allah has power over all things. 77:33 "As if there were (A string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 81:4 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 88:17 Do They not look at the Camels, How They are made?91:13 But the Messenger of Allah said to them: "It is a she-camel of Allah. and (bar Her not from) having Her drink!"

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question: Dear Burhan Sahib, In your reply to the referred question you mentioned: The Messenger of Allah (saws) forbade the believers to eat following animals. 1- Which hunts with their fangs 2- which hunts with their claws 3- forbade to eat dogs and domestic donkies As to my knowledge our beloved prophet Muhammad (saws) never ever added anything on his own in his teachings ( based on his own knowledge / perception) but he (saws) order to forbade what Allah (MB & MM) forbade and allowed what Allah ( MB & MM ) allowed. you are requested to please quote a valid reference for the above 3 items enabling me to perfect my faith rightly. As a tradition i am also not eating all above but as a matter of faith i do not consider above 3 items as Harram. Hope you will not ignore this as this is very important to me. Regards Your brother

Answer:

Prophets evidence for animals with fangs haraam

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (saws) commanded on the believers only what was revealed to him by the One Who is All Knowing, All Wise. Never did the Messenger of Allah (saws) add or subtract anything from the deen on his own. My beloved brother in Islam, you are absolutely within your rights as a muslim to demand proof and evidence from the Quran and Sunnah from anyone who says or thinks something is haraam; and the person saying it, must present the proof if he is truthful.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verses 67:O Messenger, convey to the people whatever has been sent down to you from your Lord. For, if you do not do this, you will not be doing justice to Allahs Message.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraat verse 157:(So, now mercy has been assigned to those) who follow this Messenger, the Gentile Prophet, whose mention they shall find in the Torah and the Gospel with them. He enjoins them to do good and forbids them from evil; he makes pure things lawful for them and impure things unlawful; he relieves them of their burdens and frees them from the shackles (of rites and rituals) that bound them. For this reason, those alone who believe in him, support him, succour him, and follow the Light that has been sent down with him shall attain true success. Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.672 Narrated by Abu Thalaba Al Khushani The Prophet (saws) forbade the eating of wild animals having fangs. From Al-Laith who narrated from Yunus who narrated from Ibn Shihab, who said: Idris Al-Khaulani told me that Allah's Messenger (saws) forbade the eating of the flesh of every wild beast having fangs . " Al-Muwatta Hadith Hadith 25.13 Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shibab from Abu Idris al-Khawlani from Abu Tha~laba al-Khushani that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "It is haram to eat animals with fangs " Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 7.435B Narrated by Az Zuhri The Prophet prohibited the eating of beasts having fangs. Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4587 Narrated by Al-Miqdam ibn Ma'dikarib The Prophet (saws) said: Beware! I have been given the Qur'an and something like it, yet the time is coming when a man replete on his couch will say: Keep to the Qur'an; what you find in it to be permissible, treat as permissible; and what you find in it to be prohibited treat as prohibited. Beware! The domestic ass, beasts of prey with fangs, a find belonging to confederate, unless its owner does not want it, are not permissible to you. Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 3795 Narrated by Al-Miqdam ibn Ma'dikarib The Prophet (saws) said: Beware, the fanged beast of prey is not lawful, nor the domestic asses, nor the find from the property of a man with whom treaty has been concluded, except that he did not need it. If anyone is a guest of people who provide no hospitality for him, he is entitled to take from them the equivalent of the hospitality due to him. Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 4129 Narrated by Safinah Referring to the day of Khaybar, Safinah reported that Allah's Messenger (saws) declared domestic asses, the flesh of mules, every beast of prey with a fang, and every bird with a talon (claws of birds of prey) to be unlawful. Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and

I am aware of the fact that it is forbidden to sell dogs. However, my business involves selling products for dogs like pet carrier, pet harness and belts and the like. I wanted to know if that was permissible in Islam and is my business halaal. JazakAllah.

Answer: Selling pet dog accessories halaal In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Al-Muwatta Hadith 31.68 Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abu Bakr ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn alHarith ibn Hisham from Abu Masud al-Ansari that the Messenger of Allah (saws) forbade the sale price of a dog, the earnings of a prostitute, and the earnings of a fortune teller. Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (saws) forbade the believers from trading or earning from the sale of dogs; but he (saws) permitted dogs to be kept as guard dogs, for hunting, etc. Sahih Muslim Hadith 3814 Narrated by Abdullah Ibn Mughaffal Allah's Messenger (saws) permitted keeping of dogs for hunting and (the protection of) herds. In the hadith transmitted on the authority of Yahya, the Messenger of Allah (saws) permitted the keeping of dogs for (the protection of) herds, for hunting, and (the protection of) cultivated land. Thus the majority of the scholars are of the opinion that there is no harm if one sells or trades in things which are used for the up-keep of dogs, like dog-food, harnesses, carriers, belts, etc. Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. [Topic:Halaal & Haraam]

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters, As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you) One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question: Dear Burhan Bhai, salam Alaikum, We all know and understand that consuming pig or any of its products is haraam. In normal situations, Is this law only related to eating or consuming? What if a person is buying or selling products made of pig? Can one use pig leather which is tanned through chemical processes to remove its impurities? Can one use shaving brush made of pig hair cleaned chemically? A person is using a shoe with pig leather lining does he remain tahir (paak), can he offer salah / namaz taking them out? Does one remain tahir touching such chemically cleaned products? Most of the people I know excuse themselves by saying that they dont know how to distinguish a pig skin, is this excuse valid? What does Islam / Shariah demands from us regarding this ignorance? Is using such products a sin? Is there any kind of worldly punishment for using such haram things as is in the case of indulging into other haram acts? Will there be any punishment in the here-after? Isnt it obligatory upon us to acquire knowledge of all the haram things / acts so that we can easily identify them and stay away? Kindly elaborate. May Allah guide & bless all of us to stay away from all haram things and acts and save us from the hell fire, Amin! Maassalam,

Answer: Using Products of Swine In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. Q-1: In normal situations, Is this law only related to eating or consuming? Amongst all the animals which have been forbidden as food to the believers in Islam, in the opinion of the four majors schools of thought only the dog and swine and all their related products (meat, leather, hair, etc.) are considered najis or impure. Although the meat of the canine animals like the lion, cheetah, tigers, etc. are considered haraam, their related products are not considered najis or impure and the believers are allowed to use them; but all products from the swine and the dog are considered najis and impure and thus forbidden for the believers to use. Q-2: What if a person is buying or selling products made of pig? The majority of the scholars are of the opinion that the buying, selling or earning any money from the trading of any swine products would not be halaal income for the believers. Q-3: Can one use pig leather which is tanned through chemical processes to remove its impurities? Fiqh-us-Sunnah Fiqh 1.15 Tanning purifies the skin and the fur of a dead animal. This is based on the hadith of Ibn 'Abbas, in which the

Prophet said, "If the animal's skin is tanned, it is purified." Related by alBukhari and Muslim. In light of the above hadith whereby the Messenger of Allah (saws) declared the skin of animals which had undergone the process of tanning as being pure for the believers to use; there is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars in Islam regarding the inclusion of the skin of swine. Amongst the four major schools of thought Imam Maalik and Imam Abu Hanifah say the hadith is general without any exception; thus the tanned skin of the swine would be considered pure. But Imam Hanbal and Imam Shafei are of the opinion that the swine has been declared najis in its entirety, and thus even if its skin is tanned it would not be considered pure. Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 3.267 Narrated by An Numan bin

Bashir The Prophet (saws) said "Both the halaal (legal) and the haraam (illegal) things are obvious, and in between them are (suspicious) doubtful matters. So whoever forsakes those doubtful things lest he may commit a sin, will definitely avoid what is clearly illegal; and whoever indulges in these (suspicious) doubtful things bravely, is likely to commit what is clearly illegal. Sins are Allah's Hima (i.e. private pasture) and whoever pastures (his sheep) near it, is likely to get in it at any moment." Can one use shaving brush made of pig hair cleaned chemically? A person is using a shoe with pig leather lining does he remain tahir (paak), can he offer salah / namaz taking them out? Does one remain tahir touching such chemically cleaned products? If one has knowledge that the product is made of swine, one should fear Allah and abstain from it. If one does not have prior knowledge and uses any swine product in ignorance without any intention of transgressing the boundaries of Allah, Allah Subhanah is indeed the

Most Merciful and Oft-Forgiving. If one has perchance touched something which is najis or impure, one should wash that part of the body; touching of an impurity does not invalidate ones wudu, and washing the part of the body which the impurity has touched would suffice. Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters, As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. Answer:

Wearing shirt with animate emblem In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Q-1: Can we eat Mushroom Mushrooms are from amongst the vegetation kingdom, and all vegetation, without exception, have been declared halaal for consumption for the believers. Q-2: Can we do prayer by wearing shirt, dress having the symbols of Animals or humanbeing Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.448 Narrated by Abu Talha I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) saying; "Angels

(of Mercy) do not enter a house wherein there is a dog or a picture of a living creature (a human being or an animal)." In light of the above guidance of the Messenger of Allah (saws), it would be best for the believers to abstain from wearing any clothes which have animate pictures on them. Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Question No.3601)Someone recently was discussing what animals are halaal and haraam and wanted to know if we can eat horse
[Topic:Halaal & Haraam]

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters, As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you) One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question: Someone recently was discussing what animals are halaal and haraam and wanted to know if we can eat horse (There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.) Answer: Horse Meat Halaal In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He

allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 5.530 Narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah On the day of Khaibar, Allah's Messenger (saws) forbade the eating of donkey meat and allowed the eating of horse meat.

The list of halaal or permissible foods in Islam in endless! Allah and His Messenger (saws) have listed the foods which are haraam or

forbidden. The law or principle in determining whether a food is halaal or haraam, the believers must look in the list of the haraam foods, and if not found in that list, that food will be considered halaal for the believers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verses 34: 3 Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked the name

of other than Allah, that which hath been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by being gored to death; that which hath been (partly) eaten by a wild animal; unless ye are able to slaughter it (in due form); that which is sacrificed on stone (altars); (forbidden ) also is the division (of meat) by raffling with arrows: that is impiety. This day have those who reject faith given up all hope of your religion: yet fear them not but fear Me. This day have I perfected your religion for you completed my favor upon you and have

chosen for you Islam as your religion. But if any forced by hunger with no inclination to transgressi on Allah is indeed OftForgiving Most Merciful. They ask thee what is lawful to them (as food): say: Lawful unto you are (all) things good and pure: and what ye have taught your trained hunting animals (to catch) in the manner directed to you by Allah; eat what they catch for you but pronounce the name of Allah over it: and fear Allah; for Allah is swift in taking account. This day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. The

food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you, and yours is lawful unto them. Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verse 157: 157 Those who follow the Messenger , the unlettered Prophet (Mohamed (saws)) whom they find mentioned in their own (Scriptures ); in the law and the Gospel; for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil: he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); he releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those

who believe in him honor him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him, it is they who will prosper." Thus, in light of the above Aayahs of the Holy Quran and the various authentic narrations of the Messenger of Allah (saws), here is the list of the haraam foods: 1. The meat of any animal that dies of itself or is not slaughtere d (including fall, strangling, gored to death, etc.) 2. The flesh of swine 3. The food on which any name other than Allah Subhanah s has been invoked 4. The food that is slaughtere d by any other than the believers, Jews or Christians. 5. The Messenger of Allah

6.

7.

8.

(saws) forbade the believers to eat the meat of any animal which hunts with its fangs. (eg. Lions, tigers, cheetahs, etc.) The Messenger of Allah (saws) forbade the believers to eat the meat of any bird which hunts with its claws. (eagles, crows, etc.) All the impure animals and insects are forbidden as food. (rats, cockroache s, pests, etc.) The Messenger of Allah (saws) also forbade the believers to eat dogs and domestic donkeys.

If the food does not fall in the list of the haraam, it will be considered halaal and

permissible for the believers as food. It is practically impossible to name each and every halaal food, as the list is endless. But we will try to compile a list only as an indication. The following are absolutely halaal for the believers. 1. All vegetation is halaal food. 2. All animals and birds that are not listed in the haraam list, are halaal as food for the believers provided they fulfill the requireme nts of slaughter. 3. All seafood is halaal, whether it be fish, crabs, lobster, prawns, etc. Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allahs Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Question No.630)Prayer and cleaniness

[Topic:Prayers]

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters, As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you) one of our brothers/sisters has asked this question: Dear . I am from pakistan. i have a question from you. our religion syays that cleanes is half religion & you can not say prayer without being cleaned . my problem is that when i see some badness my clothes become bad. and i do not able to say prayer. tell me can i say my prayer without taking a bath.
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)

Answer: Prayer and cleaniness In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. If one has become unclean because of sexual intercourse, or semen discharge; then it is obligatory that the person has to have a full bath or ghusl to become clean and available for prayer. This is when full bath or ghusl is mandatory. If the person is not unclean because of sexual intercourse or semen discharge, then he may make ablution or wudu and be available for prayer. Regarding the clothes, one must be sure that they have not become unclean due to their contact with unclean things like blood, urine, etc. If the clothes one is wearing is pure of these unclean things

like blood, urine, etc. he is permitted to pray. There is a difference between the clothes being impure with blood, urine, etc. and the clothes being a little dirty with soil, mud, etc. The clothes which have been touched by impure things must be changed for prayer, and although it is obviously better to pray with clean clothes, one may pray with dirty clothes. Your Question: tell me can i say my prayer without taking a bath. If the ghusl or full bath is not mandatory on you because of sexual intercourse or semen discharge, then there is no need to take a full bath for every prayer. One just has to make ablution and be available for prayer. There is no condition in Islam that one has to take a full bath for every prayer; one only has to do the wudu and pray. Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse 6:O you who have believed, when you rise to offer the salaah you must wash your faces and hands, and arms upto the elbows, and wipe your heads with wet hands, and wash your feet upto the ankles. And if you have become unclean (due to sexual intercourse, etc.), cleanse yourself with a full bath. The act of salaah or prayer is absolutely obligatory on every adult sane believer, no matter what his condition (except for the women in her menses, or someone who is terminally unconscious). There is absolutely no excuse for not offering the obligatory prayers in Islam.

Question No.6512)Camel urine medicine.

[Topic:Islam & Science]

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters, As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you) One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question: I have seen and took it by surprise that urine of Camel (Bowl) is being sold & people use to drink to cure so many disease & i am being informed by one Arabic friend that their is one verses on this & it also mention in Sahi Bukhari. how it possible to drink some waste which i can undrstand. please educate me on this subject with the light of Quran & Hadees . Regards
(There may be some grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in confidentiality.)

Answer: Camel urine medicine In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers. Hadrat Anas ibn Malik (r.a.) said: "A group of people from the tribes of Ukul came to Madinah and became ill in their stomach. The Prophet (saws) prescribed them to get a milking shecamel and drink a mixture of its milk and urine." Related by Ahmad, al-Bukhari and Muslim There is indeed mention in the records of authentic hadeeths that the Messenger of Allah (saws) once

prescribed some people who were ill in their stomachs to drink a mixture of camel-milk and its urine as a remedy for their ailment.

One must understand that the Messenger of Allah (saws) was not sent by Allah Subhanah as a doctor to treat the physical ailments of mankind. But he (saws) was sent as a Mercy from the Most Merciful to heal the people of the spiritual diseases like kufr (disbelief), shirk (polytheism), etc.
Its not that everyone who had a physical problem at the time of the Prophet (saws), like a sore throat, or a bleeding arm, or a physical disease, etc. came to the Messenger of Allah (saws) for treatment! About matters which can be learnt through experience, or through experiments in the laboratories, or through advancement of technology, etc. one should use the best available opinion or remedy of the time available! Even the Prophet (saws) himself used to turn to the available doctors or hakeems of the times, when he (saws) or any of his family members had any physical ailments; and used the available medicine of the times. Sahih Muslim Hadith 5832 Narrated by Anas ibn Malik ; Aisha Allah's Messenger (saws) happened to pass by the people (in Medina) who had been busy in grafting the trees. Thereupon he (saws) said: If you were not to do it, it might be good for you. (So they abandoned this practice) and there was a decline in the yield. The Prophet (saws) happened to pass by them (and said): What has gone wrong with your trees? They said: You said so and so. Thereupon he (saws) said: You have better knowledge (of a technical skill) in the affairs of the world. Beloved brother, other than this one incident whereby the Prophet (saws) told the visitors to drink a mixture of camel-milk and its urine as a remedy for their stomach ailment, there is absolutely no other evidence in the authentic and established Sunnah whereby the drinking of animal urine is prescribed as a cure for a physical

ailment. It is possible that these specific visitors had a specific ailment in their stomach, and the drinking of a mixture of camel-milk and its urine was the best available medicine to cure their ailment in those times.and Allah Alone Knows Best. Your Question: how it possible to drink some waste which i can undrstand. Urine, medically referred to as "plasma ultrafiltrate" is a by-product of blood filtration, not waste filtration.. Modern research suggests that urine is a derivative of the blood itself, made by the kidneys--whose principal function is not excretion but regulation of all the elements and their concentrations in the blood. Nutrient-filled blood passes through the liver where toxins are removed to be excreted as solid waste. Eventually, this blood undergoes a filtering process in the kidneys, where excess water, salts, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antibodies, urea, uric acid and other elements not usable at that time by the body are collected in the form of a purified, sterile, watery solution that is urine. The function of the kidneys is to keep the various elements in the blood balanced. The important elements in the blood are not filtered out because they are toxic and harmful to the body, but simply because the body does not need a particular concentration of an element at that specific point in time. Clinical studies have proved that the thousands of critical body chemicals and nutrients that end up in urine when re-utilised, these chemicals and nutrients act as natural vaccines, antibacterial, antiviral and anticarcinogenic agents, as well as hormone balancers and allergy relievers. If one today has a physical ailment or disease, it would only be prudent and in accordance with intelligence that one consult and act upon the advice and remedy offered by an expert in the field of medicine rather than utilize the remedy which was used in the times of the Prophet (saws) 1400+ years ago..but if one seeks a remedy for the spiritual diseases like shirk or kufr or one wishes to be guided to the Straight Path, this guidance cannot be learnt by man through experience, nor

through research in the laboratories, nor through the advancement of technology, etc..for Allah is our witness brother, the only remedy for the spiritual diseases like shirk and kufr can only be sought through the Divine Sources of Guidance: the Quran and the Sunnah.

Swedish man accused of sex with sheep

Published: 20 May 11 08:49 CET | Double click on a word to get a translation Online: http://www.thelocal.se/33882/20110520/ Share63 A Swedish man in his fifties who was allegedly caught having sex with a sheep near Alingss in western Sweden denies being guilty of animal cruelty.

Sadistic sex crimes on animals rise in Sweden (22 Mar 11) Suspected sheep slaughter in pizzeria (6 Oct 09) Swedish bestiality ring exposed (11 Nov 08)

In the beginning of June last year a sheep farmer and his wife heard a curious bleating sound from one of the farms pastures. When they went to investigate they were shocked to find a man engaged in sexual conduct with one of the ewes. This is an unusual case. Earlier it would have been classified as bestiality but nowadays it is seen as cruelty to animals, Tomas Tell of the police told daily Gteborgsposten (GP). The witness reports are in themselves not enough to convict the man of cruelty to animals. Therefore a specialist veterinary surgeon has been called in from the Swedish Board of Agriculture (Jordbruksverket) as an expert witness. Because there were no visible injuries the prosecutor must be able to prove that the ewe has suffered from the unpleasant event, Tell told GP. At the trial the specialist will be heard on the subject of sheep physiology and behaviour. But according to GP, the main issue will be whether the ewe has suffered any lasting distress due to sexual abuse or not. The farmers will have to testify as to what they witnessed the man do with their grazing livestock and the police officer that apprehended the culprit will also be heard during the trial. Sex crimes against animals have been reported to be on the rise in Sweden earlier this year with an increase in reported cases of sexual mutilation of horses and other livestock. The man denies the charges, despite the witnesses' claim to have caught him in the act. If found guilty he could be sentenced to anything from a fine to two years in prison.
