Well, Oroville will have an opportunity to hear Anns advice live as well as learn more about this fascinating woman as portrayed by Katy Ryan in The Lady with All the Answers. This full-length play, directed by Dennis Ashley, takes place in 1975 after Ann had been giving advice read by over 60 million people all around the world. From lovelorn teenagers to settling family disputes, Ann doles out wisdom as well as adds her own sprinkle of humor and straight-forward point of view. Audience members will get a kick out of this one-woman play that has laughs, surprises, touches the heart and entertains within the intimate setting of the Unity of Oroville church playhouse. Show dates & times: October 13, 19, 20 at 7:30 PM and October 14 at 1:00 PM. Location: Unity of Oroville; 1321 Robinson St.
Tickets: Suggested donation of $7 (nobody will be turned away for inability to pay) Reservations & information: Call 530533-8696 Not only will audiences be able to enjoy a good play, they will also be helping to raise funds for the Unity of Oroville church (all proceeds from the play will be provided to Unity). The church building reopened in May after being restored from significant damage caused by a fire (arson) and is now ready to get the grounds back into shape. Unity is pleased to be producing this play (there will be more in 2013) in addition to other community events/activities, such as Yoga classes, bluegrass music jams, Mind-Body-Spirit fair & more. For more information about upcoming plays and other events at Unity, call 533-8696.

Visitors can make mini-monsters from colored porcelain clay bodies using tools and methods provided by master ceramist Chris Yates (his exhibit, shared with painter David Mallory, Earths Bounties, will be in its closing day). Inside, more delights await visitors, such as a new $99 wall that accommodates

(NAPSI)Safety on the road is no accident. For example, when a warning light illuminates on a cars dashboard, it is alerting you to a situation that requires your attention. While not all warning lights are a sign that disaster is imminent, no warning indicator should ever be ignored. Thats the word from the experts at AAA, who encourage motorists to read their owners manual and know what each of the warning lights in their vehicle means. To help, they offer the following tips: Oil Pressure Light The oil pressure light is usually an oilcan symbol or the word OIL. It comes on when there is a drop in engine oil pressure. Of all the warning lights, the oil pressure light indicates the greatest potential for serious mechanical damage. If the oil pressure warning light comes on and stays on, pull off the road at the earliest safe opportunity, shut off the engine and call for assistance. Engine Temperature Light The engine temperature light is usually a thermometer symbol or the word TEMP. It comes on when the engine temperature is unsafe for your vehicle. Unless the engine temperature is quickly brought under control, major damage may occur. If there are any signs of a cooling system leak, pull off the road at the earliest safe opportunity, shut off the engine and call for assistance. Be careful when opening the hood in the presence of steam, and never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Charging System Light The charging system light is usually
a battery symbol or the word ALT or GEN. It comes on when the vehicle electrical system is no longer being supplied power by the alternator. If this light comes on, shut down all unnecessary electrical loads such as the radio, heater or air-conditioning, then drive the vehicle to a repair facility immediately for further inspection. Check Engine Light The check engine light comes on when there is a problem affecting the vehicles exhaust emissions. If the light comes on and stays on, make an appointment with an auto repair shop to have the problem checked in the near future. However, if the check engine light begins flashing repeatedly, the catalytic converter is over-heating. Should this occur, drive the vehicle to a repair shop immediately for further diagnosis. Disregarding a flashing check engine light could start a fire, destroy the catalytic converter and result in necessary repairs that could easily exceed $1,000. To learn more, visit www.AAA.com or call (800) AAA-HELP. To locate an AAA Approved Auto Repair shop, visit www. AAA.com/repair.

(NAPSI)Sooner or later, all car batteries have to be replaced. The good news is that by taking a few simple maintenance steps, you can avoid the cost and hassle of getting stranded with a dead battery. Extreme Heat and Cold Excessive heat and overcharging are the two main reasons for shortened battery life. Heat causes battery fluid to evaporate, thus damaging the internal structure of the battery. A malfunctioning component in the charging system, usually the voltage regulator, can allow too high of a charging rate, leading to slow death for a battery. Colder temperatures can also be a problem, increasing the thickness of the engine oil, making the engine harder to turn over and the battery work harder. This makes for harder starting. Battery Tips To help you get the most life out of a battery, the Car Care Council suggests the following: Have your battery testedand replaced if necessaryin the fall and spring.
Campers/RVs
I LOVE CLEAN, WELL MAINTAINED RVS!
This reduces the chance a dead battery will leave you stranded on the side of the road. Be sure the electrical system is charging at the correct rate; overcharging can damage a battery as quickly as undercharging. If your battery is the type that needs to be topped off, check it regularly, especially in hot weather. Add distilled water when necessary. Always replace a battery with one thats rated at least as high as the one originally specified. Keep the top of the battery clean. Dirt becomes a conductor, which drains battery power. Further, as corrosion accumulates on battery terminals, it becomes an insulator, inhibiting current flow. The Car Care Council is a national nonprofit organization providing information for the Be Car Care Aware consumer education campaign that promotes the benefits of regular vehicle care, maintenance and repair. (NAPSI)Preventive maintenance is critical for keeping vehicles operating at optimum levels, says car-care expert Tricia Hecker, Head of Marketing for Mopar. To help, here are 10 items to check on your vehicle: 1. Brakes: Check pads, shoes, rotors, drums, calipers, wheel cylinders, brake hardware and the parking brake for wear and tear. 2. Tires: Closely inspect the tread and sidewall areas of tires for uneven or irregular wear. Correct air pressure helps prevent premature wear and supports fuel economy. Check the spare, too. 3. Battery: Check for corroded terminals and a bulging or cracked case. Test and replace battery if necessary. 4. Headlamps and Taillamps: Inspect and test all lamps to ensure proper function and alignment. 5. Shocks and Struts: Shocks and struts are the most overlooked service parts on a vehicle, but they affect ride control and comfort and can affect a number of related parts. 6. Engine Oil: Be sure it has the correct viscosity. Engine oil should be changed or replenished at factory-recommended intervals. Low or dirty fluids affect how an engine and its components perform and could cause engine damage. 7. Fluid Levels: All vehicle fluids and lubricants should be checked and changed at factory-recommended intervals. Key fluids include antifreeze/coolant level and concentration, as well as power steering, brake, transmission and windshield washer fluids. 8. Engine Belts and Hoses: Replace

Poor airflow to the engine inhibits performance and generates greater fuel consumption. A new air filter lets clean, unrestricted airflow into the engine and helps ensure proper performance for a longer life. 10. Wiper Blades: The lineup from Mopar, Chrysler Group LLCs service, parts and customer-care brands of wiper blades, includes Beam Blades, which provide superior all-weather performance and aid driving visibility. Mopar (a simple contraction of the words MOtor and PARts) is the source for all genuine parts and accessories for Chrysler Group and Fiat S.p.A. brands. It services Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, SRT, Fiat, GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai and Kia vehicles. A complete list of parts is at www.mopar.com. ALLIGATOR ALLEY
Well, folks, here we are open for business and ready for another exciting day at Bolts Antique Tool Museum, so come on in. Sure glad to have you, and you want to start your tour of the museum by checking out the new display of alligator wrench that Jerry just finished. So lets step back here to Area D and look them over. On one of our junkin trips, we traveled a road called Alligator Alley. Not sure where seems like it was in South Florida, but could have been in Georgia, the Carolinas, Mississippi, Alabama or the Southeast area of Texas or Louisiana coast. Not that it makes any difference, but will run this past our volunteers and perhaps they will call this display Alligator Wrench alley Before we get too serious about looking these over, I want to tell you a couple of our experiences with alligators in our travels. Someplace Southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana, we rode our BMW motorcycle to a wildlife refuge. When we stopped at the Ranger Station, no one was around but we noticed some board walks going out into the swamp, so we started to walk out. Soon we read a sign that said: Caution: On your return you may have an alligator on this board walk sunning themselves and it may be challenging to get them to move. Now, knowing how bad Laila wanted to see this area, I offered to stay behind and watch out for alligators. She took my suggestion wrong and I could tell right away she wasnt too enthused about the idea. Another time on a different trip, we were pulling into a campground close to the Gulf of Mexico in Texas when we noticed a prominently placed sign that said Beware of poisonous snakes and alligators. Cant really say we found that comforting. Well, enough of the alligator stories. Lets look Jerrys displays over. Please notice he now has them on seven different boards, separated by category. Just in case you forgot, alligator wrenches started being hand made around 1855 and was patented in 1871. It was the first prominent wrench to come on the scene following the Monkey wrench. Here in Area D on the No. 18 series boards we have about 100 different types, styles and brands. Theyre all unique in their own way, but take a special look at Board 18-B, you will notice these all have three sizes of thread cleaning dies in the body of the tool. These were used primarily for removing and replacing the square nuts on wagon end gate rods and the dies for cleaning and repairing the thread. Board 18-E displays adjustable alligator wrenches and Board 18-F about 20 homemade and oddballs. One board 18-D item No. 9 is the last one to be manufactured. It has alligator jaws on one end and crescent on the other. This was part of the tool kit for the Volvo car, made up to the 1950s. Hope you agree its a neat, world-class display. Now lets ease over to Area B and eyeball the alligator wrenches there. These are on Board 41 and are all marked with a Rail line on them. You will notice we have about a dozen of these. You might notice also, that we have over 150 Railroad wrench, representing 58 different Rail lines. So you make yourself right at home and look over the other 10,000 tools on display. If you want to take a break, sit a spell in Area F and watch a video or two. We are going to be here until 3:45 p.m. so take your time. When visiting with your friends be sure and tell them about us and that we are at 1650 Broderick st. in historic downtown Oroville. Ph: 530-538-2528 , open 7 days a week from Mom thru Sat. 10:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Sun 11:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and be sure to tell them to allow a little extra time on their visit so we can sit and talk tools. Antique Tools, that is. By Bud Bolt
