PRODUCT NAME
Radcon Formula #7
APPLICATION
Basic Requirements Radcon Formula #7 must be applied to a clean, dry, dustfree concrete surface, at least 28 days old. All curing compounds must have degraded or be removed prior to application. Any materials that retard penetration should be removed. Where segregation or voids are apparent, chip out, treat with Radcon Formula #7, then make good with cementitious materials. Good concrete practice must be followed such as adequate curing, compaction and vibration. Old or carbonated concrete requires a supplementary treatment to reinstate free calcium. 0 Do not apply where ambient temperatures are below +5 C or 0 above +40 C. Application Rates Normal: 1 litre to 5 square metres on average. Can vary depending on substrate sorptivity. For cracked areas: an additional 1 litre per 3 lineal metres is recommended. Method 1. Locate all cracks and flood with solution first ensuring they are filled with product. 2. Apply the solution to the remaining area at a rate of between 4-6 square metres per litre. 3. When surface becomes touch dry - (usually 2-6 hours depending on wind conditions and ambient temperature) flood spray the treated areas with water. If product still wet at 6 hours, begin first watering. 4. On Day 2 - 24 hours later water again. 5. On Day 3 - 24 hours later water again. 6. After the third watering, block drains and pond area for a minimum of 12 hours to verify a waterproof seal has been achieved.

DESCRIPTION
Radcon Formula #7 is a biochemically modified silicate solution that provides long-term waterproofing and durability benefits to concrete. It penetrates into concrete and reacts with free calcium and water to form a calcium silicate gel complex in cracks, pores and capillaries. This gel creates a sub-surface barrier against the ingress of water and contaminants such as chloride ions. Radcon Formula #7 will seal existing leaking cracks to 2.00mm. In the matrix the product remains reactive when in contact with water to provide autogenous healing properties to future hairline cracks.

DETAILING REQUIREMENTS
For more extensive information, please refer to the Radcon #7 specification or design detailing sheets. Construction/Pour Joints The joint should be formed by a vertical stop board during construction. Use bentonite waterstops in construction joints. The alternative is the application of a reinforced liquid applied membrane stripseal extending 100mm either side over the top of construction joints where covered, or grind and fill with nonshrink grout or polymer modified grout, or elastomeric joint sealing compound if there is risk the joint will move. Upturns/Hobbs First preference is having upturns/hobs poured in-situ or bentonite waterstop places in joint. Next alternative is to stripseal the cold joint between upturn and slab with reinforced liquid applied membrane extending 100mm either side. Penetrations Use bentonite waterstops or reinforced liquid applied membrane extending 100mm around penetrations, drains, fulgo inlets etc. Expansion Joints Responsibility of others Control Joints Create a joint extending the depth of the slab, prior to drying shrinkage of the concrete. ST LEONARDS CORPORATE CAR PARK, SYDNEY Site Details Location: Client: Engineer: Applicator: Application: Size: Description: St Leonards NSW 2065 State Super Board Ray Condon Consulting Engineer Kratrim Pty. Ltd. Car park deck exposed 2,000 square metres 300 lineal metres of cracks averaging 1.2mm treated in 1988 Part of Radcon #7 ABSAC Appraisal for Government projects in Australia. Report available upon request. This site is a four level car park with normally reinforced concrete decks. It was Radcon #7 first major car park sealing job undertaken with severe leakage evident. A total of 300 lineal metres of leaking cracks ranging from 0.5mm - 2.5mm in width were evident prior to treatment. Radcon #7 was treated to the entire top level which is completely exposed. The treatment was a complete success, however some major cracks required two or three treatments to gain a 100% seal. These re-treated cracks obviously contained large voids which required additional product to bridge the cracks entirely. It should be noted that the site had been leaking for a period of approximately 9 months prior to the Radcon #7 application. This is the reason for the extensive calcium leaching (staining) on the underside of the slab.

PRODUCT NAME RadmyxTM Capillary Waterproofing System MANUFACTURER Radcrete Developments Pty Ltd Level 3, 45a Bay Street Double Bay NSW 2028 SYDNEY AUSTRALIA e-mail: sales@radcrete.com.au web: www.radcrete.com.au Ph: +61-2-9362 3511 Fax: +61-2-9362 3244 ACN: 069 156 234 DESCRIPTION RadmyxTM Capillary Waterproofing System is a complete system to waterproof below grade applications such as basements and water holding structures. Through the process of osmosis the active chemicals in RadmyxTM react with the hydration products of cement to create a continuous barrier of insoluble crystals deep within the capillary structure of the concrete. These crystals block the passage of water whilst permitting the transmission of air and water vapour, enabling the structure to breathe. RadmyxTM is equally effective against positive or negative water pressure and can be used as an admixture or surface applied as a slurry on the internal or external surface. Full waterproofing is normally achieved 5 7 days after application. After the crystallisation process has successfully waterproofed the structure the active chemicals in RadmyxTM remain dormant in the concrete. Any later contact with water will reactivate the sealing process. Admixture APPLICATIONS In-situ Concrete Basements Lift Pits Core-filled Blockwork Canals Tunnels Reservoirs Dams
KEY BENEFITS Long-term performance - No re-application or future maintenance require Fast Backfilling - Backfilling operations can undertaken immediately after forms are stripped be
No Protection Required - Protection boards and drainage cells can be eliminated because there is no risk of damage during construction or thereafter. Fault Finding - If shrinkage cracks develop - easy to find and repair using RadmyxTM Slurry & Mortar No lifting of membranes required. Efficient - Compresses construction timetable since waterproofing can be either done from positive or negative side MAINTENANCE None required. GUARANTEES 10 year guarantees for RadmyxTM treated areas are available where approved applicators are used and in appropriate situations. Contact the manufacturer for further information and confirmation of suitability. LIMITATIONS RadmyxTM is not suitable for waterproofing above ground applications or applications exposed to thermal stress. Use Radcon Formula #7 for Above ground applications RadmyxTM is not suitable for waterproofing dynamic cracks or movement joints. Use elastomeric joint sealant for these applications. PACKAGING 12.5 kg bags or pails SHELF LIFE & STORAGE 12 months Keep container sealed SPECIFICATIONS e-mail us at: sales@radcrete.com.au

RadmyxTM Mortar Mixing: Mix sufficient water to achieve a mortar consistency Rate: Use as requires. Technique: 1. Dampen Surface prior to application. 2. Laminate in layers no more than 30mm thick.
Add water to RadmyxTM NOT RadmyxTM to water. Only mix sufficient RadmyxTM that can be used in 20 minutes. Protect RadmyxTM from sun & ponding water for 4 days. RadmyxTM should be sprayed with a fine mist of water 34 times a day for 4 days to assist curing & penetration. Clean tools and equipment immediately after use. Use of plastic or rubber containers is recommended. RadmyxTM waterproofing is not suitable for subsequent decoration unless first protected by sand/cement render. Surfaces must be free from dust, oil, grease, paint, residual curing compound, form release oil or any previous surface treatment that will impair adhesion of the RadmyxTM . Remove any laitance and provide a slightly rough, open pored surface sufficient to act as a mechanical key. This is essential for adequate adhesion of the RadmyxTM.
Plugging Leaks
Leaks and holes drilled to relieve water pressure are sealed permanently using a plugging compound of RadmyxTM Slurry mixed with RadmyxTM Hardener To plug leaks under pressure: 1. Chase out the area of the leak until water flow is free and insert a length of plastic hose. 2. Seal the plastic hose with plugging compound as above. 3. Clean the cavity and apply a coat of RadmyxTM Slurry and when tacky, fill the cavity with a RadmyxTM Mortar and allow to cure. 4. When surrounding waterproofing is complete, withdraw the hose and plug the hole with plugging compound using a gloved thumb to hold it in place until set (approximately 1 minute). 5. Fill the remainder of the hole with RadmyxTM Mortar When the mortar has set, complete the waterproofing, lapping slurry coats onto the concrete surrounding the hole. Holes under low pressure can be similarly sealed, but pipe insertion and removal is omitted.

APPLICATION METHOD
Preferably a low pressure spray or alternatively roll, brush or squeegee the solution to saturate the surface. For new concrete: TM i) Apply Radfloor immediately following the finishing operation, as soon as the surface is firm enough to walk on, preferably using a low-pressure spray or squeegee. Ensure the whole surface remains TM wet with Radfloor for at least 30 minutes. ii) As Radfloor begins to dry and becomes slippery under foot, lightly mist the surface with water. iii) As the surface again begins to dry, flush the surface with water then squeegee the surface totally dry to remove any excess TM Radfloor . The surface may need to be brushed to ensure all the TM excess Radfloor is removed. For old concrete: TM i) Saturate the surface with Radfloor for at least 30 minutes. ii) If after 30-40 mins the majority of the Radfloor formula is still on TM the surface, then spread any excess Radfloor from low points or puddles over the entire surface to ensure even coverage. iii) Once it becomes slippery under foot, flush the entire surface with water and squeegee until completely dry.

APPLICATION Coverage Rate: Saturate surface by applying one flood coat at an application rate of 1litre per 5 sq.m. Although depending on the porosity of the surface, coverage may vary from 4-6 sq.m. per litre. Method: For new concrete: i) Apply the material immediately following the finishing operation, as soon as the surface is firm enough to walk on, preferably using a low-pressure spray or squeegee. Ensure the whole surface remains wet for at least 30 minutes. ii) As the material begins to dry and becomes slippery under foot, lightly mist the surface with water. iii) As the surface again begins to dry, flush the surface with water then squeegee the surface totally dry to remove any excess material. The surface may need to be brushed to ensure all the excess is removed. For old concrete: i) Saturate the surface with the material for at least 30 minutes. ii) If after 30-40 mins the majority of the formula is still on the surface, then spread any excess material from low points or puddles over the entire surface to ensure even coverage. iii) Once it becomes slippery under foot, flush the entire surface with water and squeegee until completely dry.
4.5
PAINTING OR COVERING: Old concrete: Allow 3-7 days before applying paints or coverings New concrete: Allow 28 days for proper curing.
