PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The project management profession has grown in scope, importance and recognition. Project management is the discipline of organizing and managing resources in a way that allows the project to be completed within a defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints. Project Managers are consistently in high demand in a growing number of industries and the Project Management Institute (PMI) has established the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) as a standard across all industries. Project Management has a direct impact on an organizations strategic success, so its no surprise that the project management profession has experienced a significant growth in recent years. Because of the complexity of projects, top organizations now want their employees to be certified in project management. Regardless of the industry, project managers are essential to the success of any organization. This certificate program helps professionals further their understanding of what it takes to lead a project to successful completion. Students who earn the UT PDC Project Management Certificate Program often go on to become certified Project Management Professionals (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
