Class Behaviour

Geography: Rebecca shows an extended understanding on the effects humans and physical processes having on farming regions in Australia and her project on the drought was very thorough. From the large amount of knowledge Rebecca shares it is evident that she regularly discusses media issues outside of the classroom. She shows a good understanding of policies in place to manage environmental issues. Rebecca is very knowledgeable when it comes to data collection from maps, graphs, tables, photos and description of findings. Her field trip observations and presentation from Jells Park was excellent.

History: Rebecca shows enthusiasm when learning about the history of other cultures. She has a solid understanding of other cultures traditions and history and shares knowledge with her peers that she has gained from her travels in Asia. Her ability to compare beliefs of other cultures with that of Australia is brilliant and evident both in her journal writing and in discussions. She also shows a good understanding of events in Australian history and is able to sequence significant events. Rebeccas research skills are excellent and she is always keen to make her own judgement on information she finds.

Economics: Rebecca has demonstrated a good knowledge of factors affecting Australias economy during her very thorough power point presentation. She has a great understanding of factors affecting employment and the opportunities that arise from further education and is very keen to make her way to University to become a teacher. Her knowledge on effective economic decision making was evident in her buying and selling project. Rebecca works well during economic studies and is always keen to come up with ideas.

Civics and Citizenship: Rebecca has an excellent grasp on the concept of multiculturalism and her assignment on the contributions Aboriginals make to the Australian Community was very thorough. Rebecca lacks confidence when discussing issues relating to the parliamentary system and democratic principles but is capable when prompted by her peers. Rebecca did well with her Changing the Law project showing a good understanding of the processes involved.
