ARRESTS OF INTEREST

JULY - GUNS, DRUGS AND CASH SEIZED AT FERRYDEN PARK A cache of guns, other weapons and drugs have been seized by police following a traffic stop at Ferryden Park today. At about 12.30pm, police stopped a car on Durham Terrace and as a result located a quantity of dried cannabis. Further enquiries led police to search a nearby address where a cache of weapons including a double barrel shotgun, a .44 calibre revolver, an automatic pistol, a .22 calibre rifle, three firearm silencers, an air rifle and assorted ammunition was located. Knuckle dusters, two electronic Tasers, drugs including methyl amphetamine, about 2 litres of a liquid suspected to be Fantasy, about 400 grams of heroin, an amount of illegal steroids, cash and a money counter were also located on the residential premises. A 28-year-old man from Ferryden Park was arrested and charged with serious drug and weapon offences. He has been refused police bail and expected to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court. AUGUST- TWO MEN ARRESTED AFTER BREAK IN AT LARGS BAY Police have arrested two men following a break-in on a house at Largs Bay. Just after 4.30am police were called to a house on Military Road after several alarm activations from inside the property. A search by police located two suspects hiding behind a bar in the cellar. One of the suspects grabbed a bottle and attempted to strike police. He was restrained before biting the police officer on the arm. The two 18-year-old men from North Haven and Taperoo have been charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass. The Taperoo man has also been charged with two counts of aggravated theft and resist arrest. They have both been refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Court. The men were further charged following the admission of committing numerous other break ins and theft from motor vehicle offences along the Peninsula.

Crime Stoppers proves its worth again Crime Stoppers is a community initiative that helps solve and prevent crime and again it has done just that. Last week we asked the community to help us identify a shopper allegedly using a stolen credit card for purchases in the eastern suburbs. CCTV images of the female suspect were posted on our website and shown on the Crime Stoppers segment on television. As a result of information received from the public, and we would like to thank them for helping us, a 29-year-old woman from Felixstowe was arrested for serious criminal trespass, theft and deception. Police will allege she broke into a premise and stole a handbag containing cash and credit cards which were used 11 times for transactions totalling $1900. Several items purchased with the stolen cards have been recovered. The woman was bailed to appear in Court at a later date.
