Natural Resources Mismanagement in Indonesia Mulyadi Sumarto Makalah ini membahas konflik pengelolaan sumber daya alam dan gagasan membangun mekanisme kontrol untuk menciptakan sistem pengelolaan yang berkelanjutan. Kajian difokuskan pada kontroversi peranan negara yang proporsional dalam menciptakan sistem tersebut. Pengelolaan sumber daya alam di Indonesia telah memicu konflik yang cukup kompleks antara masyarakat sipil, sektor privat, dan negara serta mengancam keberlanjutan pembangunan. Untuk itu, perlu dibangun sistem kontrol melalui pengembangan kesadaran kolektif terhadap isu tersebut. Pengalaman di beberapa negara menunjukkan salah satu pendekatan yang kontekstual untuk membangun kesadaran tersebut adalah melalui pendidikan lingkungan bagi masyarakat. Tsunami, Migrasi Terpaksa, dan Rencana Pengungsi di Aceh Barat dan Nagan Raya Abdur Rofi Research of the forced migration and Internal Displaced Persons (IDPs) intentions after the tsunami disaster in Aceh Barat and Nagan Raya district of NAD is focusing on some questions regarding the migration patterns and IDP households plan related to their home stay and occupation plans in next three months. This research used cluster sample survey with probability proportional to size (PPS) and the figures and locations for IDPs which provided by the TNI (Indonesian National Army) as January of 23, 2005 as a sample frame. They are well educated so it is natural that labor participation rate is increasing too. But on the contrary, the employment opportunities is limited and caused a part of them to become an open unemployment and underemployment. For those

who already work, most of them work in non-agricultural sectors as half skilled manpower in other sectors. For the last 25 years, there has been a change in labor market for women, but there is still a wage gap between men and women for the same job. Peranan Istri dalam Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Rumah Tangga Nelayan di Kalimantan Barat Redatin Parwadi This study focuses on the life of coastal communities, especially the lives of fishermens wives in Sungai Raya, Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat. It attempts to articulate how wives of the fisherfolk manage their time, the kind of work they perform and their contributions to the family income as their efforts to improve the quality of life. There are, however, variations in the patterns of their activities among those whose husbands are traditional independent fishermen and those whose husbands are wage labors, but using relatively modern technology. The traditional independed fishermen perform more actively to supplement the family incme compared to the other one. Working is considered as part of their lives. The side job they do is only to accommodate their spare time, but the money they have from it is enough to fullfil the family economic.

Male Genital Cutting in Yogyakarta and Madura: Issues of Technique and Safety Faturochman; Sri Purwatiningsih Fenomena genital cutting di Asia Tenggara kurang diperhatikan oleh dunia internasional. Namun dari beberapa studi yang pernah dilakukan, secara umum informasi yang ada menunjukkan bahwa praktik male genital cutting atau sirkumsisi laki-laki tersebar di berbagai daerah dan disahkan secara sosial. Hasil studi yang memadukan teknik kuantitatif dan kualitatif ini menunjukkan sebagian besar masyarakat melakukan sirkumsisi dengan justifikasi menjalankan perintah agama. Aspek kebersihan dan kesehatan juga ditonjolkan oleh beberapa tokoh agama untuk semakin mengesahkan pentingnya dilakukan sirkumsisi di samping adanya beberapa mitos yang terkait dengan seksualitas. Namun mitos-mitos seksualitas yang banyak dianut masyarakat di wilayah penelitian sangat bias yang menunjukkan dominasi laki-laki atas perempuan.
