L opamudra, i n great hol y ci ty of K ashi . T he sage was born out from a pot by veerya
of M al e Coupl e named M i tra-Varuna. Vasi stha was hi s co brother i n such mysti cal
bi rth. Natural l y he carri ed strong i nsti ncts of Onl y M al e ori ented r el i gi on of Vedas &
T antra sui tabl e for M al e domi nance. Sage was al so famous for hi s great T apas,
superhuman abi l i ty of yoga, by whi ch once i t sai d that he drank enti re ocean .
T hough he was capabl e of mergi ng i n Samadhi for many many years, he sti l l fel t
attracti on to beauty of L opa whi ch he can not resi st. God of Sex, broke hi s Samadhi
so often whi ch made Agasti thi nk what mi ght be reason for i t ? or whether the path
he fol l ows i s one si ded one ?
T hen at some poi nt of K al a-Chakra, there ari se K al i yuga . T o bestow fai th & turn
the aspi rants towards Purusharthas, Great K ameshwara Savi ta Bhagwaam i ncarnated
as M i tra D eva aka Matsyendranath i n K amarupa pi tha.
H e needed a D i vi ne mother to spr ead thi s K aul a dhar ma . W hom he wi l l seek for
that ?? H e was searchi ng through out the I ndi a.
T hen he met, the great woman, who was once ki l l ed by her own son . Possi bl e
i nteracti on wi th one Gandharva, generated tremendous anger i n her husband.H er
husband was al so i n M al e domi nated Upasana cul t of Vedas . T he famous
Jamadagni . For hi m, woman was mere object of enjoyment. H ow such object has
freedom to enjoy for her ??
H e coul d not tol erate i t, or der ed hi s son to ki l l hi s own mother. So hi s son
Parashuraam, ki l l ed hi s mother . But because of boon of Jamadagni , hi s mother
agai n got new l i fe . Now she was no more Jamadagni s s wi fe .
Renuka got new name Chi nnamasta.
H ere Jamadagni suffered consequences , got ki l l ed by angry ki ngs, K artaveeryarjunas
.
At thi s poi nt, M atsyendranath met Renuka at T ryambakeshwar kshetra. Great
di vi ne coupl e formed, perfectl y sui ted to spread great K aul a D har ma.

M atsyendranatha i ni ti ated her i n great K aul a Patha, wi th very secret mantra whi ch i s

Now we come to our mai n story. I n thi s great coupl e of Agasti -L opamudra,
L opamudra started to have upper hand because of thi s K aul a Path, whi ch one si de
vedi c approach of her husband was l acki ng.
She i ni ti ated her husband i n thi s great Path, i n expectati on, that H e wi l l understand
her feel i ngs. But i t di d not happen. Great Sage was ful l of T apas, Si ddhi s &
K nowl edge, he sti l l pr eferred Al one Purusha then domi nance of Stri .
After few years, thi s great sage started pi l gri mage to South, where no sages went ti l l
now. Sage Agasti took one of hi s favori te di sci pl e al ong wi th hi m . W e wi l l know hi s
name at end of thi s story, as i t carri es l ots of Rahasyam.
Journey was not easy, H e reached far south ti l l present day M adurai . Now he has
wi th hi m great K aul a Vi dya wi th hi s oceani c Vedi c K nowl edge & powers . Yet he
wanted to i ncorporate thi s Shakti worshi p i nto hi s vedi c path. H i s probl em got
i mmedi ate sol uti on. At thi s great pl ace of M eenakshi , he met sage H ayagreeva, a
strong Vai shnavai te Vedi c Sage wi th esoteri c knowl edge . By gui dance fr om hi m, H e
created new vi dya, whi ch has T antri k power s but was i n l i ne wi th Vedi c Pri nci pl es &

H e wrote new Puraanas, Stotras,T antras for thi s vi dya , wai ti ng to get a di sci pl e .
H e di d not have to wai t l onger, a great D attatreya came i n search of hi m. Agasti
i ni ti ated D attatreya i n thi s great M other worshi p on M al aya M ountai n.
T radi ti on grew stronger & wi der, through D attatreya & hi s di sci pl es l i ke
Parashuraam . But Agasti was sti l l not sati sfi ed wi th i t, H e thought, l et my wi fe al so
get thi s Vi dya . H e knew i n hi s mi nd, that hi s wi fe L opamudra posses more ski l l s &
powers than hi m.
H e ordered hi s di sci pl e to go to K ashi & bri ng L opamudra wi th hi m . H e stri ctl y
ordered not to go any where near hi s wi fe . K eep the requi red di stance .
W hen they r eturned, both L opamudra & di sci pl e was i n happy mood. Great Sage
was wonderi ng what i s the reason . H e asked. D i sci pl e tol d the story of journey , how
di ffi cul t i t was. H ow they stuck i n fl ood of K averi , how great for ce of water , took
L opamudra away. H ow he saved her by jumpi ng i n water .
Fi re of doubt i gni ted. Great Sage can not tol erate any one touch hi s wi fe, no matter
to save her l i fe al so . As per hi s Rel i gon, l et woman di e than breaki ng some rul e for
enjoyment of M en.
H e cursed both, hi s wi fe L opamudra & hi s di sci pl e. D i sci pl e was al so not some
i di ot. H e gave repl y, that thi s curse was unnecessary & cursed hi s Guru back .
