October 2012

Welcome Back to the Club

Friday, October 5 at 6 pm, food at 7 pm

Fall it is a glorious buffet of colors, aromas and the opportunity to enjoy a fun, casual and classy evening at the Club. We encourage you to invite your friends to mingle throughout the clubhouse and property. The Great Room will play host to faire that showcases autumn flavors at their finest paired with our fine wines. You will be entertained by an area favorite while you peruse the stations featuring such heartwarming items as Rustic Gourmet Pizzas, Marinated Pork Tenderloin and Mini Sliced Steak Baguettes. Other tastings will include Calamari, Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, Loaded Potato Skins, Homemade Onion Rings, Hearty Beef Stew, Chicken Enchilada Soup and warm Apple or Blackberry Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream. Over the last several months, we have welcomed many new members. This function is a beautiful moment for ALL our members to join in conversation. Since there will not be the typical restaurant style seating, everyone can move around at their leisure, eat a little, drink a little and have a terrific evening. We hope the young parents such as the Rapps, Scotts, Thomas, Matt and Amanda Harvey, Hodsons, Hess, Robert, Erin, David & Allison Clayton, Muellers....and so many more....get a babysitter.... and give yourselves a night off or even bring the kids to the party. Please plan on attending this event and bring a guest or potential member. It was such a success in the Spring that we thought it deserved a Repeat Performance. Since this will be such a large event, we will not be serving from the dinner menu this evening. $19.95 per person and reservations are required. Well see you on the 5th of October!

The Taste of the Club

A Tradition Since 1903

The Glanton Family Drs. Luvell and Sophia Glanton have returned to Hannibal and immediately came to the Club. Luvell is practicing in the Pain Management specialty and Sophia is a Urologist by profession, but currently is taking some Mom-time with daughters, Tiana (11 years) and Kiva (5 years). Tiana plays the violin and piano while younger Kiva just loves to play with her friends. Both young ladies attend Holy Family School. Its great to have the family back!

Ladies Day Luncheon

Wednesday, October 17 at Noon

Fran Hays, Mary Lou Brennan and Nancy Beckner would love to welcome the lovely ladies to the Club for our October Ladies Luncheon. Currently, they are scheduling a showing of Fall accessories from our local Miss Trendys. The shop will present a mini version of their store in the great room for browsing or shopping. After the wine social at noon, the hostesses have selected a warm, seasonal pumpkin soup as the first course. The main entree is a salmon salad over fresh greens, shallots, scallions and hard boiled eggs. Warm apple pie ala mode will finish the wonderful harvest lunch. Please call with your reservations by Tuesday, October 16.

Future Golf Pro

Two year old, Mason Rapp entertains members many evenings as he practices his drives, chipping and putting. He is the son of Ryan and Megan Rapp. Mason is wildly talented for his age and is a joy to have here at the Club.
