Task 5: Configure Inter-VLAN Routing


Step 1: Configure each router with the appropriate number of subinterfaces with the correct interface address. Task 7: Configure OSPF


Step 1: Configure each router using OSPF Process ID 1. Step 2: Using the network command, advertise each directly connected network to the interface address using the appropriate wildcard mask. Do not advertise to the network or subnet address. This will be marked as incorrect under the Assessment Items tab

in the Activity Results. Step 3: Advertise each network in area 0. Step 4: Verify that all networks are visible in each routers routing table.

Task 8: Configure OSPF Authentication


Step 1: Enable authentication for area 0 on each router. Step 2: Configure the OSPF interface on each router to use authentication-key secure. Step 3: To ensure greater security, encrypt authentication information on each router using the message digest key number 1 along with the authentication key secure. Step 4: Verify that all networks are still visible in each routers routing table.

Task 9: Verify connectivity
Step 1: Connect a host to each VLAN on Switch 2 LAN 2 on the Southeast router. Step 2: Configure each host with the last usable host address and default gateway for that VLAN.
