THEORY REQUIREMENTS The ability to explain and demonstrate the following principals: BODY DYNAMICS 1. Centerline/Median line principal 2. Linear/straight line actions 3. Circular actions 4. Center of Balance 5. Turning/pivoting on the balls of the feet 6. Turning from the waist 7. Sidestepping 8. Gliding/Sliding Movement and Circle Stepping (Chinese: Huen-Bo) 9. Striking surfaces of the hands 10. Striking surfaces of the feet 11. Striking surfaces of other body parts (e.g., elbows, knees, shins, forearms, shoulder, head butt) 12. Center of Breathing and Tantien/Hara Breathing STANCES The ability to perform correctly the following stances: 1. Horse/rider stance (Chinese: Ma Bu) 2. Modified Stance (Jeet Kune Do Fighting stance) 3. Side Stance 4. Front Stance/Forward Stance (Japanese: Zenkutu-dachi) 5. Cat Stance 6. Crane Leg Hanging stance (Crane pre-fighting posture) HAND POSITIONS The ability to perform correctly the following hand positions: 1. Wing Chun/WingTsun guard position (Chinese: Chong/Kar-Sik) 2. Protective Arm (Chinese: Wu-Sau) 3. Traditional Karate fighting position (knife hand lead/reverse punch rear hand) 4. Muay Thai boxing/Boxing guard position 5. Tiger Claw (Chinese: Hu Zhao) 6. Circling Hand (Chinese: Huen-Sau) STRIKES WITH HANDS The ability to correctly demonstrate against a target: 1. Character Sun Thrusting Punch (Chinese: Yat Chi Chung Kuen) 2. Throat Cutting Hand (Chinese: Shat-Geng-Sau; Japanese: Shuto) 3. Erect Palm/Stamping Palm (Chinese: Yan-Cheung) 1

Front Snap Kick (Thai: Yotha Sin Thop (Horse Warrior)-Snap Thrust Kick; ) 2. Side Kick 3. Back Kick (To the Rear of you) 4. Roundhouse Kick (Thai: Tam Duay Khang-Roundhouse Thrust Kick; ) STRIKES WITH THE ELBOW The ability to correctly demonstrate against a target: 1. Horizontal Elbow Strike/Swinging Elbow (Thai: Pra Yaikae) 2. Vertical Elbow Strike 3. Diagonal Vertical Elbow Strike 4. Rear Elbow Strike/Swinging Back Elbow (Thai: Jak Narai) 5. Elbow Chop (Thai: Sog Fan Nah) BLOCKS/PARRIES The ability to correctly demonstrate against a blow while being attacked: 1. Wing Arm block (Chinese: Bong-Sau) 2. Palm-up Arm (Chinese: Tan-Sau) 3. Bridge-on Arm (Chinese: Fook-Sau) 4. Slapping hand (Chinese: Pak-Sau) 5. Leg Jam/Jamming an Opponents Leg with your leg in order to restrict movement or kicks COMBAT COMBINATIONS (MUST BE PERFORMED BY THE STUDENT AS A COMBAT MOVEMENT AGAINST A TARGET WITH THE TESTING INSTRUCTOR) 1. Bong-Sau followed by Character Sun Thrusting Punch 2. Knee Strike followed by Vertical-Diagonal-Horizontal Elbow Strike (Both from the same side of the body-SIMULTANEOUSLY) (Thai: Yud Yotha) 3. Character Sun Thrusting Punch followed by Front Snap Kick 4. Tan-Sau followed by Thrusting Fingers or Throat Cutting Palm (Both performed by the same arm) 5. Bong-Sau followed by Erect Palm Strike (Both performed from the same arm)

6. Roundhouse kick followed by Character Sun Thrusting Punch (Alternating sides of the body) 7. Fook-Sau employed as a grappling maneuver, followed by a Knee Strike 8. Using Huen-Sau to dissolve a wrist grapple attack

Split stretch dynamics 4. Skill of Raising a Pot/Wrist Roller Exercise (Shaolin Exercise) (Chinese: Shang Guan Gong) while on poles or elevation 5. Rider Stance On Poles (Ma Bu on poles or elevation) (Shaolin Exercise) 6. Weighted Circular Hands exercise while on poles or elevation 7. Dumbbell Triceps Extension 8. Abdominal Crunches 9. Waist Twisting exercise with stick/pole 10. Body Squats 11. Push Ups 12. Alternating Dumbbell Curl with supination QUESTIONS The ability to correctly answer the following: 1.
