Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) is calling for 20 participants to take part in the Grundtvig project entitled: United in diversity: discovering European values and Minority Rights.

Project description
GHRD is organizing a training programme addressed at improving the social situation of minorities in the European Union. The objective is to expose participants to a wide range of problems faced by minorities, and to enhance their knowledge through information sharing. Sessions about identity, culture, stereotyping, conflict & EU values should strengthen their mutual understanding. The main activities of the workshop will include: Theoretical lectures Discussions Simulations Short presentations Role-play There will also be the opportunity to meet and network with different International Organisations operating in the human rights field and to visit International Institutions in The Hague.
Financial conditions
This project is funded by the European Commission and therefore accommodation and food will be provided by the organizers. Travel costs to the venue and back will also be covered.

Organisational information
Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) is an international human rights organization based in The Hague with the objective of promoting human rights, and in particular minority rights. In order to fulfil its mission GHRD has formulated the following objectives: Human Rights Education by building ties and understanding among the youth in the EU and non-European member states. GHRD makes use of formal and non-formal educational techniques to achieve this goal. Create Human Rights Awareness by developing, stimulating and enhancing human rights knowledge in a national and international perspective. Fight against violations of Human Rights by setting up partnerships through liaison offices. With help of their already existing network and infrastructure it will be feasible to address cases to international bodies like the European Union and the United Nations.
