FROM: FORT BELVOIR LIONS CLUB PRESIDENT TO: JEA PRESIDENT SUBJECT: SPORTS AND EVENTS AT PICNIC INFO:

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE TOURNEMENT, TROPHY, REGISTRATION, AND JUDGING.

1. The Fort Belvoir Lions Club Events Committee has come to the decision on what

kind of sports and events will be available at the picnic via Lions Club. a. Barracks tournament b. Volleyball c. Frisbee d. Football
e. Pie in the Face Raffle

2. Barracks tournament will consist of 7 events in which teams of five will compete. a. Push-ups b. Relay race c. Tug of war d. Sit-ups e. Water balloon Toss f. Basketball g. Dodgeball 3. Registration of Teams. 4. Trophy for winning team.

5. Push-ups event: a. Each team captain will send up three members to compete. b. The winning team will be decided by the overall total of push-ups done by the three team mates. c. There is no time limit for this event. d. Once you drop to the ground or raise an extremity you are done. e. The judge will have overall say on the number of push-ups you did. Also, the judge has overall discretion regarding improper push-ups. f. The winning team will receive 1 point toward the overall score. 6. Relay Race: a. The Race will consist of 6 stations. b. The team captain will split the team up according to the skills needed to complete each station. c. Each station will be marked with a numbered cone and will have a judge there to assure the station is completed properly. d. The sixth station will require the whole team to be present. Once a station is completed, the member needs to make it over to station five to be able to complete the race. e. This will be a timed event. f. Two teams will compete each time. g. The team who completes the race in the fastest time will be awarded three points. 7. Tug a War: a. Every member of the team must compete. b. This will be a double elimination tournament. c. The team who pulls the opposing team across the line first will win and advance to the next bracket in the winners bracket.

d. The losing team will go into the losers bracket. e. Once the winner of the winners bracket is decided, the team will then face off against the winner from the losers bracket. f. Winner from that game will decide which team receives three points. 8. Sit-ups: a. Each team captain will send up three members to compete.
b. The winning team will be decided by the overall total of sit-ups done by the

three team mates. c. There is no time limit for this event. d. If you move your arms away from your chest or you begin bouncing up and down you will be done with the sit-ups event.
e. The judge will have overall say on the number of sit-ups done, and also

exercises sole discretion regarding improper sit-ups. f. The winning team will receive 1 point towards the overall score. 9. Water balloon toss: a. Each team captain will send up two members to compete. b. The winning team will be decided when all but one balloon has been popped. c. Each team will begin at the same pre-determined distance. d. Once the whistle is blown, the member with the balloon will toss it to their partner. e. Each team member will then take one step back and the balloon will then be tossed upon the whistle being blown. f. If a teams balloon is destroyed by a malfunction, then the judges will determine whether or not to hand off another balloon to the team. g. If the teams balloons are destroyed due to ground, air, or body parts, then the team is out. h. Last team standing will win one point for their team.

10. Basketball free throw tournament: a. Each team captain will send up two people to compete. b. First round, member one will shoot and member two will retrieve the ball for him and vise versa for round two. c. Each member will shoot for two minutes. d. Each basket made will go towards the overall score of that team. e. After both rounds the team who has the most collective baskets will win two points for their team. 11. Dodge ball Tournament: a. Every member of the team must compete in this event. b. This will be a double elimination tournament. c. The teams competing will be picked at random. d. A person will be considered out if they: go out of bounds, are hit by a ball, or the ball is caught by the other team. e. Once out the member must wait for a ball to be caught in order to return to play. f. If all members are out then the team loses and goes to either the losers bracket, or if lose occurs in losers bracket then team is out of the tournament. 12. Volleyball: a. The FBLC will provide a volleyball for those who wish to play a sport but does not want to compete. 13. Frisbee: a. Frisbees will be provided for those who wish to play a sport but does not wish to compete. 14. Football: a. A Football will be provided for those who wish to play a sport but does not wish to compete.

15. Pie in the Face Raffle: a. The pie in the face will be a raffle held before the start of the event and during. b. This will help the JEA, First Class Association, and Fort Belvoir Lions to raise funds for the event and possible future events for those holding residency in the barracks. c. We would like no less than four volunteers for this event.

d. Four tickets will be drawn at random and the resulting winners will get to pie the respective volunteer in the face.
e. The funds earned will go the to the Clubs and Associations to help pay back

some of the investments they made and the rest will go towards a future event. 16. Registration: a. Anybody can compete in the tournaments b. In order to compete you have to register ether before the event or 15 minutes before the events start. c. Each team competing can have no more than 5 members but no less than three. d. Each team needs to elect a captain. e. Within the registration you will need the Following:
1. Team name

2. Amount of members
3. Members names

4. Team captain 17. Rotating Trophy: a. The FBLC will purchase a trophy for the winning team. b. The teams name will be etched into a metal plaque on the trophy.

c. The next picnic the trophy will be returned in order to be competed for again. d. The winning team from that event will have their name placed next to the the previous winner and so on and so forth. 18. Awarding of the trophy: a. The trophy will be awarded to the team who earned the most points during the competition. b. The trophy will be presented to the winning teams Captain. c. The trophy will be given to the teams captain by the JEA President, First Class Association President, and the Fort Belvoir Lions Club President.
