AEET/EDET 650 Internship Contract

Approximately 1,600 students attend the school. North Augusta High Schools mission is to graduate students with the competence to contribute substantially to our world and to become effective lifelong learners and responsible citizens. Learning Goals and Objectives The intern is a teacher at North Augusta High School and a member of the professional development committee. The professional development committee is responsible for scheduling and providing training to teachers during our early release days. Some teachers and coaches during the year miss training sessions due to commitments to sports teams or other organizations they are obligated. The professional development committee saw the need to provide an alternative training method so these teachers would not fall behind in their requirements. It is the object of this internship to pilot a training session in an online delivery format so these teachers may access the training from home or their office after their extracurricular obligations in order to meet their professional development requirements. In doing so, the intern will learn how to transform a traditional classroom training session to an online class. Responsibilities and Tasks The intern will convert an already classroom training session to an online course. The course will be on classroom management. o Build course on CourseSites o Embed the PowerPoint presentation for the course o Record narration to accompany the presentation o the online course will have a place for students to write a reflection on their own classroom management techniques and how they can incorporate some of the ideas in the course.

Deliverables The intern will deliver the following items demonstrating progression of this project: o Reflection papers that discuss efforts made toward accomplishing this project. o A mid-term report of the project in the form of a short narrated presentation o Time sheets chronicling the interns efforts toward project completion o An annotated bibliography of items relating to the research in this project Schedule and Milestones The following is a schedule of tasks while completing this project: o Reflection papers every two weeks o Mid-term report on October 15, 2012. o Time sheets delivered every two weeks o Annotated bibliography of 20 items; 10 by October 15, 2012, the final delivered by December 3, 2012.
