The 2012 carnival has come to an end and I would like to thank the carnival committee, all the volunteers, and all those who came out to support this years carnival. A very special thanks to Senator Steven Landek for allowing us to use the Village of Bridgeview property. In addition I would like to thank Mike Porforio, Police chief Russell Harvey for all the support they have given the St. Albert the Great parish family. If it were not for their support no carnival would have taken place and our school would have suffered financially. The carnival is the largest fundraising effort for our school. I would also like to thank the following sponsors of the carnival, if you are in need of any of the services these sponsors can give please patronize them and thank them for their support of our parish.
The next Market Day Pick-up is Monday, September 17 at 6 p.m. in the school. Please return Order Sheets by Monday, September 10, 2012
Acclaim
To acclaim someone is to speak directly to them in praise and recognition, and often in a public way. Real acclaim doesnt happen too often, but when it does, its unmistakable. Something wells up in us that must come out and be directed to the one we want to praise and recognize. This happens at Mass. We acclaim the merciful Lord (Lord, have mercy), the Lord who will speak to us in the
Gospel (Gospel acclamation), the all-holy Trinity in heaven (Holy, holy, holy), the Lord Jesus Redeemer (memorial acclamation after the consecration), the Triune God who has saved us (the Great Amen acclamation), and Jesus the Lamb who frees us from sin (the Lamb of God acclamation). When we feel, when we know that Gods abundant mercy has touched and transformed our lives, how can we not acclaim the Lord?
