Multiplex Ticket Booking

1. Introduction
A multiplex is a movie theatre complex with three screens. The largest of these complexes are sometimes referred to as a CINEPLEX The system is being designed to facilitate the members engaged in the booking tickets at multiplexes. The system has a wide application in the sector of multiplexes as it can provide help in various activities. Some of the merits of this system are: The system manages the whole database of the operators. The system helps in reducing work load & pressure upon the employees. The system is highly accurate and less error prone as compared to manual system. The system helps in a better way of management of multiplex ticket booking systems. The system saves lots of time and effort as compared to manual system. The system also helps in better storage and preservation of data and information. The system also helps in speedy retrieval and seeking of data with the help of queries. The system can develop and publish various data reports which can be used to carefully study the whole picture. Overcome all the demerits of old manual system.

1.1 Scope: 1

Multiplex Ticket Booking During the period of finalizing the idea of the system, the primary goal was to design the system which will be helpful to the USER. As designing work began and things started taking shape, the system got developed to a stage where it would be used by entry level. The proposed system meets the following user requirements. User requirements: System Information Modification Large volume of data will be handled by the system Security and integrity of database Updating of the database.

1.2 Objectives To allow managers to reduce the work load of ticketing. Handling the ticket booking process. To manage the data of different movies. To control the ticket payment structure.

1.3 Easy User Interface This multiplex ticket booking system software provides various services to the operator, mentioned below:
An operator account. It updates the new released movies and removes the

current movies. To allow managers to reduce the work load of ticketing. This software is also used for current ticket booking, advance booking and generating the total collection amount. To manage the data of different movies. It also maintains the whole database of ticket To control the ticket payment structure.

1.4 Functions: Multiplex Ticket Booking System: Login:- The login process enters the operator information such as operator name and password. If the operator is not registered, then the operator is not allowed to move to Next Form. If he tries to do so an error message is displayed which says Wrong Operator. Movie Updating:- The operator updates the new released movies and removes the old ones. Ticketing:- The operator books the current available tickets for the customers, and books advance tickets. Risk Management An effective strategy to deal with risk must consider three issues: 1: Risk Avoidance 2: Risk Monitoring 3: Risk Management and Contingency Planning The risks mentioned in the risk table for the given project can be mentioned in the following ways: 1: Large no of users than planned: In case of over use of the system recovery strategy can be applied. concurrent access of the database and updating tables is managed. 2: Project does not complete by the delivery date: This is business risk and can be eliminated by forming a study project plan .The 3 Also the

Multiplex Ticket Booking work must be strictly followed. This has been checked for through out the life stage of the project. 3: End user resists system: The customer may dislike the system or user may not feel comfortable with the system if its representation is too complex. Providing an attractive, easy & can eliminate this risk and extremely user-friendly interface. Also the system crash condition must be eliminated for convince of the user. 4: Lack of trained staff: This risk is not varying difficult to handle since the user friendly graphical interface itself will guide the user through the system. There is no requirement of any Special skill set. It is assumed that nave users will operate upon this system. 5: Lack of training of tools: This risk is associated with the developers inability and can be handled by employing developers with quality skill required for project 6: Loss of funding: The funding can be lost in the event of customer dissatisfaction. The prototype of system provided to the customer must keep him in an engrossed and waiting for the product. 7: Required resources not available on the host: This risk arises due to over estimation of clients setup. infrastructure and state of machines be checked for. 8: Customer may change requirement: This becomes the critical risk and even further aggravating if the system is in completion stage. Every stage of SDLC system requires whole understanding of requirements. It is the best that the system will be built only when requirements are frozen. 9: Less reuse than excepted: Flexibility must be incorporated in the project to enable the further improvements as well as reuse for another client. 10: Technology does not meet requirement: While choosing the technology on which the project must be implemented it is essential to take into account all its working factors and risks. If the technology The client

Multiplex Ticket Booking selected does not match the project risk it must be changed. Feasibility Study Feasibility Study is an important phase of systems development life cycle where the proposed system is received and evaluated to determine the usability & feasibility of the system. The proposed system was reviewed considering following feasibility tests. Operational Feasibility The system will have required validations and checkpoints, which will reduce errors and inconsistency in the database. Hence performance of the system is enhanced. The proposed system will provide timely information and status of various activities to management and end users. It will facilitate the usage of the system. Technical Feasibility The necessary setup (software & hardware) required for the system already exists, the system could run efficiently in present hardware setup. The organization is well equipped with system Platform, since the platform provide accuracy, reliability, ease of access and data security, and all the processes involved in the system are information based. Economical Feasibility Cost of hardware/software: The hardware/software setup required for development and efficient operations of the system is already available so the cost incurred is less. The cost of developing the system is much less than the benefits that will be provided by the proposed system. Hence the proposed system is economically feasible

Legal Feasibility The system is legally feasible because Development softwares which are used are authorized Once. Necessary legal formalities will be completed before Development starts. 5

2. REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION
2.1 Resources 1. Human Resources: After evaluating the scope of the project and selecting the skill of the individual group members the tasks are get allocated. There are four people allocated for the completion of the project under the consultation of project guides by examining the individual skill set, which is given below

2. Hardware resources Processor : - Any Pentium Family Monitor : - 14 or above VGA RAM HDD : - 128MB. : - 10GB.

3. Software Resources

Multiplex Ticket Booking Front End : - VB 6.0 Back End : - Oracle 9i.

Operating System :- WINDOWS 98,WIN NT,WIN 2000 and above

2.2. Functional Requirements The various functional requirements are:1. Correct input by the user. 2. The connectivity of the database to VB front end. 3. A system with VB 6.0

3. External Interface Requirement

Hardware Requirement: 1. Minimum 10GBspace on HDD 2. Any Pentium Family, 128 MB RAM Software requirements: 1.VB 6.0 2.Windows XP(Professional) 3.Rational Rose. 3.1. Attributes Security The product secures the database by providing only File System to the personnel. Maintainability The database is updated every two months manually by the application 8

Multiplex Ticket Booking programmers .In case some changes are there then the database is immediately updated with the changes.

4. Cost Estimation:
Function-Point based estimation: Decomposition for FP based estimation focuses on information domain values rather than the software functions. The FP is derived using relationship based on the direct measures of the softwares information domain and assessment of software complexity. FP is computed by completing the following table Table 4.1 Computing function point Measurement Parameter Number of user inputs Number of user output Number of user inquiries Number of files Number of external interface Count total Count 6* 04* 04* 02* 00* Factor Average 3 4 3 7 5 4 5 4 10 7 Complex 6 7 6 15 10 18 16 12 14 00 60
